How do you say 'whoops' in Russian? Podesta Group retroactively files more DOJ disclosures for pro-Putin work
The Podesta Group belatedly filed several new disclosures with the Justice Department on Aug. 17 related to work the firm completed between 2012 and 2014 on behalf of a pro-Russia Ukrainian think tank.
Back in April, the powerful Washington lobbying firm run by Clinton ally Tony Podesta filed a document admitting its work for the pro-Russia European Centre for a Modern Ukraine may have principally benefited a foreign government. New disclosures revealed dozens of previously unreported interactions the firm made with influential government offices, including Hillary Clinton's State Department and the office of former Vice President Joe Biden, while lobbying on behalf of the center. Embattled ex-Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort failed to disclose his extensive lobbying efforts on behalf of the center at the time as well.
Anyone lobbying or doing public relations on behalf of foreign governments is required to register as a foreign agent in compliance with the Foreign Agents Registration Act. The Aug. 17 filings include short-form registration statements for six Podesta Group employees and an amendment to the firm's registration statement that includes a list of political contributions made by relevant employees throughout 2013.
A review of those donations shows both parties received cash from Podesta Group lobbyists.

Are Central Banks Nationalizing The Economy?
The FT recently ran an article that states that “leading central banks now own a fifth of their governments’ total debt.”
The figures are staggering.
Without any recession or crisis, major central banks are purchasing more than $200 billion a month in government and private debt, led by the ECB and the Bank of Japan.
The Federal Reserve owns more than 14% of the US total public debt.
The ECB and BOJ balance sheets exceed 35% and 70% of their GDP.
The Bank of Japan is now a top 10 shareholder in 90% of the Nikkei.
The ECB owns 9.2% of the European corporate bond market and more than 10% of the main European countries’ total sovereign debt.
The Bank of England owns between 25% and 30% of the UK’s sovereign debt.
A recent report by Nick Smith, an analyst at CLSA, warns of what he calls ”the nationalization of the secondary market.”

Brent Bozell: The Slow Death of the Republican Party
The Grand Old Party is about to commit suicide.
All this talk about Trump this, and Trump that, masks a far bigger political controversy. The Republican Party leadership in Washington, D.C., has fundamentally betrayed its constituents and they are about to learn that they’ve been double-crossed — for years.
Every Republican candidate’s stock speech sounds the same, the thunderous roar about a government out of control, federal spending out of control (insert charts and graphs and why, if you stack hundred dollar bills, they will reach the edge of the universe), federal taxes out of control (insert comparisons to socialist countries), the federal bureaucracy out of control (insert metaphors about chains, yokes, and the like), the family shattered with federal funding of abortion a crime against humanity (watch for it — there! The heart-wrenching sob), and our military is emasculated.
Two more items were added to the menu, courtesy of Obama. Obamacare Will Be Repealed! and Illegal Immigration Will Not Stand!
In 2009, the Democrats controlled everything, partly due to the Republicans’ cowardice on Capitol Hill, and in part because of some of the most inept candidates and campaigns America has seen in years. The Obama folks could have played it safe but went for socialist gold, using the power of the legislative and the executive branches (and later the judiciary, thank you Justice Roberts) to advance their agenda.

‘Live PD’ TV series shines spotlight on Calvert Co. sheriff’s office
PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — TV cameras have been following some Calvert County sheriff’s deputies for months as part of A&E’s hit documentary series “Live PD.”
The series, which had most recently been airing on Friday and Saturday nights, features near-real-time video of law enforcement officers in different parts of the country responding to everyday calls.
On its website, the show is billed as offering “unfettered and unfiltered live access inside a variety of the country’s busiest police forces,” although video shown during the live segments airs on a delay.
The Calvert County deputies who chose to take part appeared in about 20 episodes this spring and summer, and Sheriff Mike Evans thinks the program depicted them “in a good light.”

Why Are Navy Ships Colliding in the Pacific? Experts Weigh In
U.S. Navy leaders are scrambling for answers after two guided-missile destroyers collided with other ships in the Pacific within months of each other, causing millions in damage and costing the lives of sailors aboard.
In a year that also saw a cruiser run aground in Tokyo Bay and anotheroverrun a South Korean fishing vessel, the evidence appears stark that something is wrong.
Early Wednesday morning, Navy officials announced that the three-star commander of the Yokosuka, Japan-based 7th Fleet, Vice Adm. Joseph Aucoin, had been relieved from his post weeks before his planned retirement in the wake of the mishaps. But is the problem regionally focused, or does it have implications for the larger Navy?
Ongoing investigations into the two recent collisions and a separate review of Navy training and certification standards, with an emphasis on the surface warfare officer community, aim to answer those questions. But some Navy experts who spoke with Military.com suggested the service may not like what it finds out.

‘Appalling and unacceptable’: Too many drivers pass school buses illegally
GAITHERSBURG, Md. — Twenty-five school buses in Montgomery County are equipped with automated cameras to ticket vehicles that pass stopped buses, and police say they’re catching a disturbing number of violations.
“Twenty thousand people passing a stopped school bus is appalling and unacceptable. And we have to do better,” said Capt. Thomas C. Didone, director of traffic for Montgomery County police.
To raise awareness about what police consider a significant safety issue for the upcoming school year, the department reported Friday that during last school year, school bus cameras issued 19,566 tickets. During summer school, 525 citations were issued.

Why Is Congress Not Investigating Obama’s Unprecedented Political Espionage?
An award-winning national security correspondent for CIRCA News believes Congress needs to launch an investigation into Obama-era unmasking and warrantless surveillance of Americans, according to an exclusive interview with The Daily Caller News Foundation.
Sara A. Carter, of the Sinclair Broadcasting Group, has been an overseas war correspondent for the bulk of her professional life and grew up in the Middle East.
She was one of the first reporters to reveal Obama administration political espionage, and unprecedented unmasking and surveillance of Americans by using the national security apparatus. The Obama administration loosened the privacy protections for innocent Americans in 2011 – including accessing information from priests, attorney/client relationships, and doctors, she said.
The administration scoured Americans’ private conversations “at an exponential rate,” she said. From 2011 to January 2017, the unmasking increased over 300 percent. She also revealed the Obama administration was accessing emails at a rate of one out of every 20 Americans, an incredible 5 percent of citizens.

Paul Craig Roberts: "There Is A Conspiracy... And It's Against The American People"
In the United States “conspiracy theory” is the name given to explanations that differ from those that serve the ruling oligarchy, the establishment or whatever we want to call those who set and control the agendas and the explanations that support the agendas.
The explanations imposed on us by the ruling class are themselves conspiracy theories. Moreover, they are conspiracy theories designed to hide the real conspiracy that our rulers are operating.
For example, the official explanation of 9/11 is a conspiracy theory. Some Muslims, mainly Saudi Arabians, delivered the greatest humiliation to a superpower since David slew Goliath. They outsmarted all 17 US intelligence agencies and those of NATO and Israel, the National Security Council, the Transportation Safety Administration, Air Traffic Control, and Dick Cheney, hijacked four US airliners on one morning, brought down three World Trade Center skyscrapers, destroyed that part of the Pentagon where research was underway into the missing $2.3 trillion, and caused the morons in Washington to blame Afghanistan instead of Saudi Arabia.

Officials Okay Sheriff’s Office’s Vendor Request
SNOW HILL – A new software program is expected to help the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office update its policies and procedures.
Last Tuesday the Worcester County Commissioners agreed to approve Sheriff Reggie Mason’s request to use Lexipol as a sole source vendor. Lexipol provides policy management software for public safety organizations throughout the country.
“There is no other company that offers what Lexipol has to offer,” Lt. Andrew McGee said.
Mason submitted a request to the commissioners to use Lexipol, at an initial cost of $40,000 and an annual maintenance cost of $19,000, to update procedures.
“This process is being conducted to address the recurring issue of the outdated procedures and policies and their adherence to state and federal statutes,” Mason wrote in a letter to the commissioners.

Venice's right-wing mayor has ordered cops to shoot anyone who shouts 'Allahu Akbar' - rather than risk a terror attack.
The Times reports that Italian mayor Luigi Brugnaro claimed that his city Venice was safer than Barcelona - where 14 people died being run down by a van last week.
"In contrast with Barcelona, where they had not set up protection, we keep our guard up."
Speaking at a conference in Rimini, north east Italy, he further revealed the extraordinary order he has given to armed police at one of the most popular tourist attractions in Europe.
“If anyone runs into St Mark’s Square shouting ‘Allahu Akhbar’, we will take him down.

Christian Ministry Sues SPLC, GuideStar, and Amazon for Defamation
On Tuesday, D. James Kennedy Ministries (DJKM) filed a lawsuit against the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), the charity navigation organization GuideStar, and Amazon, for defamation, religious discrimination, and trafficking in falsehood. The SPLC listed DJKM as a "hate group," while GuideStar also categorized it in those terms, and Amazon kept the ministry off of its charity donation program, Amazon Smile.
"We embarked today on a journey to right a terrible wrong," Dr. Frank Wright, president and CEO at DJKM, said in a statement Tuesday. "Those who knowingly label Christian ministries as 'hate' groups, solely for subscribing to the historic Christian faith, are either woefully uninformed or willfully deceitful. In the case of the Southern Poverty Law Center, our lawsuit alleges the latter."
The SPLC has labeled DJKM an "anti-LGBT hate group" for its opposition to same-sex marriage and transgenderism. "These false and illegal characterizations have a chilling effect on the free exercise of religion and on religious free speech for all people of faith," Wright declared.
"After having given the SPLC an opportunity to retract, we have undertaken this legal action, seeking a trial by a jury of our peers, to preserve our own rights under the law and to defend the religious free speech rights of all Americans," the DJKM president concluded.

Trump Reportedly Slams Administration's Globalists, Demands "Bring Me China Tariffs"
It appears Goldman and the Globalist gang in The White House may have less power and influence than assumed in the absence of Steve Bannon. In what could be one of the most comprehensive (and easily traced) leaks from within Trump's administration, Axios reports details of a small Oval Office meeting with Trump raging at senior staff as they push back against his hawkish trade war position.
Seemingly frustrated at his senior staff's efforts to wage economic war against China, Trump lashed out at his new Chief of Staff General Kelly:
"John, you haven't been in a trade discussion before, so I want to share with you my views. For the last six months, this same group of geniuses comes in here all the time and I tell them...
Tariffs. I want tariffs.' And what do they do? They bring me IP. I can't put a tariff on IP."
Axios, who confirm this account by sources with knowledge of the meeting and undisputed by the White House, explain in great detail, thatGary Cohn, a globalist who opposes tariffs and the protectionist trade measures pushed by the nationalist Bannonites, had his shoulders slumped and was clearly appalled by the situation.

Border Patrol Arrests 30; Discover Smuggling Tunnel
At around 1:12 a.m., Border Patrol agents encountered several people who had apparently just been smuggled into the U.S. Agents searched the area and discovered a crude opening in the ground with a ladder inside and determined that is was a smuggling tunnel. The tunnel's exit is located just north of the secondary fence in the vicinity of the Otay Mesa port of entry.
The 30 aliens are now in Border Patrol custody pending further questioning. There were a total of 23 Chinese nationals, 21 men, two woman, and seven Mexican nationals, 4 men and three women.
I was an unwed teen and had to tell my pastor father
Pregnant and unwed teenager Maddi Runkles was the subject of countless news reports earlier this year after the administration at her private Christian high school refused to allow her to walk in its graduation ceremonies in order to “teach a lesson regarding her immorality.”
While I understand the school’s desire to teach their students lessons about the consequences of sin, I also think the events in Maddi’s life could have provided students with a lesson about grace -- the grace that caused Jesus to tell a woman living in sin “neither do I condemn you -- go and sin no more.”
I know something about this. You see, once upon a time, I was Maddi Runkles. I also became pregnant outside of marriage while barely out of my teen years.
Rebelliousness had set in and I skated in sin believing the big lie that there were more pleasures to be found in this world than in God.
Driven by fear I hid my pregnancy for five months, and I knew that the shame and guilt I carried would only amplify -- plus usher in condemnation once others learned my secret. Was I up for this?
Like Maddi Runkles, I was raised in a Christian home where we upheld Christian principles and embraced Biblical values. In fact, my father was a pastor -- and this further enhanced my anxiety as I struggled to tell my parents about my pregnancy. It weighed heavily on me, especially in knowing that another decision - a secret one to not have my baby - could rid me of being shamed by others.
The day I finally mustered up the strength and courage and confided in my father, something extraordinary happened..

Mexicans, Chinese among 30 illegals arrested outside new smuggling tunnel
California border patrol agents made a startling discovery over the weekend when they found a crude tunnel that was being used to smuggle Chinese nationals and other illegal immigrants from Mexico into the U.S.
The tunnel, with a ladder inside, was spotted near San Diego’s Otay Mesa border crossing, authorities said. Border agents happened upon it at 1 a.m. Saturday after arresting a group of 30 people who had just been smuggled into the U.S. through the tunnel. The group included 23 Chinese nationals, including two women.
“While subterranean tunnels are not a new occurrence along the California-Mexico border, they are more commonly utilized by transnational criminal organizations to smuggle narcotics,” U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokeswoman Virginia Kice told KNSD-TV. “However, as this case demonstrates, law enforcement has also identified instances where such tunnels were used to facilitate human smuggling.”

Gary Cohn Criticizes Donald Trump’s Response to Charlottesville Protests
White House economic adviser Gary Cohn challenged Donald Trump’s response to Charlottesville, insisting that the president had to do a better job condemning white supremacists.
“I believe this administration can and must do better in consistently and unequivocally condemning these groups and do everything we can to heal the deep divisions that exist in our communities,” Cohn said in an interview with the Financial Times.
Cohn aligned his views with the establishment media, asserting that the violent Antifa counter-protesters were “standing up for equality and freedom” while the protesters defending Robert E. Lee’s statue were all white supremacists, neo-Nazis and the KKK.
“Citizens standing up for equality and freedom can never be equated with white supremacists, neo-Nazis, and the KKK,” he said.

“Citizens standing up for equality and freedom can never be equated with white supremacists, neo-Nazis, and the KKK,” he said.

No charges after January fatal crash despite findings of state police investigation
The at-fault driver in a fatal fiery crash on Interstate 70 in January will not be charged, according to state documents obtained this week by The Frederick News-Post.
Shawn Darin Gill, 46, of Gaithersburg, was driving west on I-70 at about 9 a.m. Jan. 25 when his 2012 Kenworth dump truck struck a 2011 Nissan Rogue stopped at the Interstate 270 interchange, according to police. While a Maryland State Police crash reconstruction report indicated Gill’s distracted driving was a leading cause of the crash, prosecutors declined to pursue charges in a letter sent to the lead investigator July 24.
“We are unable to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Mr. Gill was grossly negligent in the operation of his motor vehicle,” Assistant State’s Attorney Michael Moore wrote in the letter. “Therefore, it is my opinion that no criminal or traffic charges are warranted.”
The driver of the Nissan, 46-year-old Jacob “Jake” Jackson, was killed when the Nissan was pushed forward into the rear of a second dump truck stopped in front of him, causing the Nissan to “instantly burst into flames,” according to a report obtained Thursday through a Maryland Public Information Act Request.

Was the ‘Civil War’ Fought Over Slavery?
When I read Professor Thomas DiLorenzo’s article the question that lept to mind was, “How come the South is said to have fought for slavery when the North wasn’t fighting against slavery?”
Two days before Lincoln’s inauguration as the 16th President, Congress, consisting only of the Northern states, passed overwhelmingly on March 2, 1861, the Corwin Amendment that gave constitutional protection to slavery. Lincoln endorsed the amendment in his inaugural address, saying “I have no objection to its being made express and irrevocable.”
Quite clearly, the North was not prepared to go to war in order to end slavery when on the very eve of war the US Congress and incoming president were in the process of making it unconstitutional to abolish slavery.
Here we have absolute total proof that the North wanted the South kept in the Union far more than the North wanted to abolish slavery.

Ex-Bush Adviser Wehner Openly Calls for ‘Shadow Government’
Peter Wehner, the “Never Trumper” and former George W. Bush adviser, is so distraught that President Donald Trump’s supporters are sticking by Trump that he is calling for Republican officials to form a “shadow government” to undermine Trump and his agenda.
Writing in the New York Times, of course, Wehner declares “what’s required now is a comprehensive, consistent case by Republican leaders at the state and national levels that signals their opposition to the moral ugliness and intellectual incoherence of Mr. Trump.”
“Rather than standing by the president, they should consider themselves liberated and offer a constructive, humane and appealing alternative to him,” Wehner writes in his “Sunday Review” column. “They need to think in terms of a shadow government during the Trump era, with the elevation of alternative leaders on a range of matters.”
He says “this approach involves risk and may not work” and predicts it will provoke “an angry response” from the “Breitbart-alt-right-talk-radio part of the party.”

Welfare Reform in Kansas Caused Individuals to Reenter Labor Force Earning Higher Incomes
Welfare reform implemented in Kansas caused individuals to reenter the labor force while earning higher incomes, according to a report from the Foundation for Government Accountability.
Kansas Republican Gov. Sam Brownback took office in 2011 and began to implement welfare reform after the previous governor, Kathleen Sebelius, had relaxed requirements for those on welfare to work or search for employment.
From 2000 to 2011, the number of able-bodied adults on cash welfare was increasing by 42 percent in Kansas, while nationally the number on welfare had dropped by a third.
Brownback first began reforming welfare by strengthening sanctions for those who received cash assistance by implementing a three-month ban on those who refused to meet work requirements. If an individual failed to meet the requirement for a second or third time, the ban was prolonged for six months to a year.
The study found that those who left welfare saw their earnings increase by 104 percent in one year, which is $20 million more than they had while on welfare. In four years, these individuals saw their incomes increase by 247 percent.
Individuals who left welfare are also better off because they found employment in more than 600 different industries and found long-term, high-paying jobs.

'Racially insensitive': Theater pulls Gone with the Wind
'Gone With The Wind' has been pulled from a Memphis theater after patrons complained the 1939 Civil War classic is racially insensitive.
The Orpheum Theatre Group made the decision after patrons took issue with the screening of the movie starring Vivien Leigh as Scarlett O'Hara on August 11.
'As an organization whose stated mission is to 'entertain, educate and enlighten the communities it serves', the Orpheum cannot show a film that is insensitive to a large segment of its local population,' the theater's operators said in a statement according to News Ch. 3.

Tillerson Out? "Frustrated" Trump "Fed Up" With Secretary Of State: Axios
After North Korea launched three more short-range ballistic missiles into the East Sea early on Saturday morning, local time, political observers were eagerly looking forward to Trump's response, especially since the president had managed to get boxed in by Kim Jong Un: on one hand, do nothing and be mocked and ridiculed not only by the North Korean press, but by the rest of the developed world, whose view of Trump's diplomatic skills could hardly be any worse; or on the other hand, launch a military campaign, either surgical or broad, and risk a retaliation against South Korea and millions of US allies dying.
In the end the US appears to have chosen the former and on Sunday, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said the firing of three ballistic missiles by North Korea this week was a provocative act but that the United States will continue to seek a peaceful resolution. The de-escalating tone took place just days after Tillerson credited the North with showing some restraint by not launching a missile since the ICBM test in July, and he had expressed hope that the easing of tension could lead to dialogue. That was not meant to be, although in it appears that what happened next is North Korea called the US bluff, and the US folded.
“We do view it as a provocative act against the United States and our allies,” Tillerson said in an interview on Fox News Sunday. “We’re going to continue our peaceful pressure campaign as I have described it, working with allies, working with China as well to see if we can bring the regime in Pyongyang to the negotiating table.

California Catholic School Removes Statues of Jesus, Mary to Be More ‘Inclusive’
An independent K-12 Catholic school in the San Francisco Bay Area has removed religious statues from its campus in order to appeal to those of other faiths.
Parents and alumni are concerned about San Domenico School's decision to remove a number of statutes and religious icons, especially those of Jesus and Mary, the Marin Independent Journal reported.
"Articulating an inclusive foundation appears to mean letting go of San Domenico's 167-year tradition as a Dominican Catholic school and being both afraid and ashamed to celebrate one's heritage and beliefs," wrote parent Shannon Fitzpatrick in an email to school decision makers.

Department of Health & Human Services Medicare Crackdown
On Fox News this morning, they reported the Department of Health and Human Services will begin cracking down on nursing homes who fail to report to police and Medicare when patients are subject to sexual and physical abuse in their care. This comes after it was discovered by Federal Auditors found 134 cases across the US were discovered where Medicare was not notified of incidents in 2015-2016 Emergency Room records. In 38 cases, they also found no evidence of these incidents being reported reported to law enforcement.

J.P. Morgan’s Hate List
What is its gift to the Southern Poverty Law Center telling bank customers?
Corporate America will do almost anything to stay on the safe side of public opinion—at least as it’s defined by the media. CEOs will apologize, grovel, resign, settle. They will even, as of this month, legitimize and fund an outfit that exists to smear conservatives.
The press is still obsessing over President Trump’s incompetent handling of the violence in Charlottesville, Va., and that has suited some profiteers just fine. The notorious Southern Poverty Law Center is quietly cashing in on the tragedy, raking in millions on its spun-up reputation as a group that “fights hate.”
Apple CEO Tim Cook informed employees that his company is giving $1 million to SPLC and matching employee donations. J.P. Morgan Chase is pitching in $500,000, specifically to further the SPLC’s “work in tracking, exposing and fighting hate groups and other extremist organizations,” in the words of Peter Scher, the bank’s head of corporate responsibility.
What Mr. Scher is referring to is the SPLC’s “Hate Map,” its online list of 917 American “hate groups.” The SPLC alone decides who goes on the list, but its criteria are purposely vague. Since the SPLC is a far-left activist group, the map comes down to this: If the SPLC doesn’t agree with your views, it tags you as a hater.

Your gut bacteria may be to blame for anxiety, says UCC
People who suffer from anxiety may take antidepressants or another medicine to treat their brain.
But a new study suggests gut bacteria actually plays a major role in anxious feelings.
A team of scientists discovered that certain gene regulators in the brain - called microRNAs - play a key roll in anxiety-type illness and behaviour and are affected by bacteria levels in the gut.
This study, done by the University of Cork, is one in a growing body of data on gut bacteria and physical and mental health.
Pharmaceutical and wellness companies have noticed, and have been marketing probiotics said to improve general physical and mental health for years already, as we reported in January of 2014.
It's unclear, though, if the gut is influencing the brain and its development, or if the brain is influencing the gut.

The Search For Fusion GPS’ Mysterious Republican Client
One of the biggest mysteries looming over the Trump-Russia saga is the identity of the political donors who hired opposition research firm Fusion GPS to investigate Donald Trump.
Almost no information has been provided in press reports about a Hillary Clinton ally who, last June, reportedly hired Fusion GPS to investigate the former real estate magnate. Fusion would go on to hire former British spy Christopher Steele to carry out that investigation. He compiled a 35-page dossier of uncorroborated allegations about Trump’s activities in Russia that BuzzFeed News published in January.
Some clues have been released regarding a Republican who reportedly hired Fusion GPS. According to news reports, that client is a major GOP donor who was adamantly opposed to Trump. They reportedly hired Fusion GPS in Sept. 2015 and paid the Washington, D.C.-based firm nearly $1 million to investigate Trump.

Who died before they collected Social Security?
THE ONLY THING WRONG WITH THE GOVERNMENT'S CALCULATION OF AVAILABLE SOCIAL SECURITY IS THEY FORGOT TO FIGURE IN THE PEOPLE WHO DIED BEFORE THEY EVER COLLECTED A SOCIAL SECURITY CHECK!!!
WHERE DID THAT MONEY GO?
Remember, not only did you and I contribute to Social Security but your employer did, too. It totaled 15% of your income before taxes.
If you averaged only $30K over your working life, that's close to $220,500.
Read that again.
Did you see where the Government paid in one single penny?
We are talking about the money you and your employer put in a Government bank to insure you and me that we would have a retirement check from the money we put in, not the Government.
Now they are calling the money we put in an entitlement when we reach the age to take it back.
If you calculate the future invested value of $4,500 per year (yours & your employer's contribution) at a simple 5% interest (less than what the Government pays on the money that it borrows).
After 49 years of working you'd have $892,919.98. If you took out only 3% per year, you'd receive $26,787.60 per year and it would last better than 30 years (until you're 95 if you retire at age 65) and that's with no interest paid on that final amount on deposit!
If you bought an annuity and it paid 4% per year, you'd have a lifetime income of $2,976.40 per month.
THE FOLKS IN WASHINGTON HAVE PULLED OFF A BIGGER PONZI SCHEME THAN BERNIE MADOFF EVER DID.
Entitlement my foot; I paid cash for my social security insurance!
Just because they borrowed the money for other government spending, doesn't make my benefits some kind of charity or handout!!
Remember the benefits for members of Congress?
* free healthcare,
* outrageous retirement packages,
* 67 paid holidays,
* three weeks paid
vacation,
* unlimited paid sick
days.
Now that's welfare, and they have the nerve to call my social security retirement payments entitlements?
They call Social Security and Medicare an entitlement even though most of us have been paying for it all our working lives, and now, when it's time for us to collect, the government is running out of money.
Why did the government borrow from it in the first place? It was supposed to be in a locked box, not part of the general fund.
WHAT CROOKS WE HAVE IN WASHINGTON
