Mayor Jake Day, aka "Party Boy"

I received an e-mail recently asking if I could research the financial information for Jake Day's Christmas Party where over 400 people/employees attended.

Jake spent over $14,000.00 of taxpayer money to hold a Christmas Party. While there was a cash bar, I also learned they spent close to $4,000.00 in alcohol.

Millions committed to a Festival, $100,000.00 committed to an after school program where there's been no background checks and now $14,000.00 on a Christmas Party. Go ahead people, elect another Liberal, including Jack Heath and see where else they can take you.

  1. I have been out of work for a year. I have no healthcare. I found 1 part time job. Unemployment ran out. At the disgusting pay rates offered around here I would need 3 full time jobs just to make ends meet.

And this sack of crap throws a 14K party. And gives 100K to some hood shill.

So so glad I did not buy a house in the city limits.

  5. I talked to Jake Day at the Christmas Parade and he was wearing a "Salisbury Fire Department" ball cap. So we know now that he likes the fire department better than the police department.

  6. It cost more than that. He announced that city government employees will have Tuesday, Dec 26, off as a paid holiday. Wildly cheered by full time employees but taking money away from part time employees who do not get paid for holidays, even though Jake told a part time employee that if they were scheduled to work a holiday, they would get paid. For me it was a bah humbug!

  7. He'd have never been elected if the Republican competition wasn't so weak.

  8. He should be run out of office if this is true.

  9. Wow at my employer we have to each bring a dish for a potluck if we want a Christmas party which we now have to call an “end of the year celebration” instead to avoid offending anyone.

  10. 3:01 PM I think someone needs to define "scheduled" because unless it is in the employee handbook that the 26th is a holiday then they are technically "scheduled" to work, which means he is required to pay EVERYONE he told not to show up for work.

  13. Salisbury Maryland is a joke!! The guys in ALL leadership positions use it for their very own personal agendas!! Their take on it is these percs are blessings that go with what their doing. Its sad when these people portray themselves as upstanding righteous people and their nothing but snakes

  15. If they want to do something more conservative then declare Dec 24 2018 a holiday for county and city to close for Monday and Tuesday next year instead of opening Monday then close Tuesday. Worcester County just approved this. I would be sure day culver and cannon couldn't get along to make that happen.

  16. Ba Hum Bug, I've been called a Liberal more than a million times and most titles I can't stand them. Waste of money is far from good but a party for selected people and using other people's money is worst. Will this do anything to stop the continuing spend term? I hope it does but that Christmas list has been sitting with Santa as long as my dream of a surfboard (I got my own it wasn't handed to me)

  18. He can spend all this money and the Salisbury park looks like a dump. Weeds growing 4ft high along the riverbanks. Got a platform out there that looks like 5 year olds built it. The cannon falling apart, it is not very safe any more and I could go on and on. A lot of us in the County used to love to walk in the park then go downtown and spend some money but not any more. This shows what kind of leadership Salisbury has.

I never saw the mayor with any hat on at the dinner. If he did have a fire department hat on, it wasn't on for long.
