ReplyDeleteThis was and is a reminder of how awful and sad that time was. Not sure if I want to revisit it. Painful for everyone. If someone is not familiar with the Thomas Leggs case then maybe they should watch so they realize that there are monsters living amongst us and bad things happen to good people. Maybe Sheriff Lewis should let everyone how/who messed up and certain evidence wouldn't have been admissible at trial. That's why Thomas Leggs got a deal! Don't let anyone think Davis Ruark wouldn't have sought the death penalty!!

DeleteEvery day is a sad and awful time somewhere. A recent similar case where a boyfriend raped a 9 year old. He and the mother cut off her arms and set her on fire. There is no valid argument against the death penalty with DNA.

On that the only ones to blame are the democrat politicians and their voters. They started the chain of events and are as equally to blame. Democrats looking for ways to fool their moron voters came up with early release. If they can show prison population #'s are down then they can trick the ignoramus democrat voters into believing that crime is down and murders like this are the result. So to any democrat acting outraged sit down and shut up. Your votes caused this so don't even try to pretend this angers you. It is your fault.

ReplyDeleteWhile we all knew, (and since confirmed from a confession) Leggs murdered little Sarah. The state, (Ruark & Lewis) did not have the DNA evidence to prove Leggs murdered Sarah. They did however have DNA evidence he raped her.
In order to achieve the death penalty in Maryland, (at the time) you must have 2 out of 3 forms of evidence. The state had NONE of the three. I'm with all of you on the fact the man should've been eliminated from this earth by any means of death. However, you were fooled/tricked into believing they could've gotten a death sentence, period. That was my beef the entire time, we were all lied to.
Because the Judge demanded the state provide positive evidence he murdered her, Ruark convinced the family they must sign off on a life without parole plea arrangement because they didn't have what was required. Only then did they get a confession from Leggs.
The family can hate me all they want and as I said on the final day of the trial, "Sarah Foxwell did not die under my watch". Use your heads and point fingers at ALL of the people/family/LE who were to have PROTECTED this innocent child, including the system that failed her. The mother and aunt BOTH dated the registered sex offender Thomas Leggs. Enough said, for now.
Finally, it was the LIBERALS who removed the death penalty from within the state of Maryland.
And still her murderer did not get the death sentence because we did not have the death sentence at that time or since. Why can't Maryland voters vote on the death sentence?

ReplyDeleteWorcester holds some of the blame also. Leggs was caught literally with his pants down after breaking into someone's house in OC. He was already a convicted SO. He should have never ever been released on bail. The handwriting was on the wall after that even to lay persons. Why the SA's office and the judge let this happen is incomprehensible. They are to blame too. As is often the case the 'next time' they kill their victims in an attempt to not have a witness. Why this was not recognized by so call experts and professionals in the Wor Co court system is outrageous.

ReplyDeleteThats what family support is for. I have worked w/ child victims of of rape one who testfied. They still air your name in court. The ultimate goal is making sure monsters like this is never able to harm another person again. You empower the victim/ witness you heal them and they are able and willing to help prosecute these bastards

The main reason was because the former states attorney told the immediate family that I was writing a book and would expose each and every one of their pasts because it would ALL be exposed by the defense. The SA scared them to death because all of them had incredible history.
ReplyDeleteIt was only AFTER the fact that the SA held a meeting the following day after the Judge told the SA he better have DNA evidence proving he murdered, (not raped) Sarah, (which they did not). I make no excuses. It was Ruark who called me that night stating HE was writing a book and asked if I would help him since I had been taking notes throughout the trial.
The family was hoodwinked by the SA.
Joe, I was speaking of cases in general, not this one specific. As I have stated on this SN... thie willful taking of innocent life requires the death penalty,IMO.

Amen Brother!! Democrats are evil people and they share the blame for all the ill of our country.
I'm wonder if that animal is serving life in prison in a special cell for sex offenders. I watch Lock Up on MSNBC on Sunday's and many of those child molesters have to be protected or the prisoners will kill him. That seems to be an unwritten rule for prisoners and I have seen them attack known child molesters on the video anytime anywhere. Some of the prisoners even had light sentences, but they have a passion to kill those monsters and for that I support and thank those prisoners. I am just wondering why Tommy Leggs is still alive after all this time. He must be in a special program where he is totally removed from the general population.
ReplyDeleteHe was stabbed in prison a few years after this happened and moved to a prison far out of state from my understanding. You can google his name and it will come up. I'm sure he's in protective custody right now. I wish they would let him out of pc and put him in the general population for the other inmates to do what they want to him. He deserves to be raped and tortured repeatedly for all he did to that sweet girl.
