  1. For high tax states like Maryland, California, New York and New Jersey, the foreclosure rate will only get worse! Lets see how many people walk away from their mortgages when you can no longer write off the interest or state property taxes on your federal income tax forms! I see an even higher exodus from the high tax democratic states in the near future.

  2. Ocean City's foreclosure rate is 3%.
I think our city leader be lying to us about the economic state of the county

  3. We still be in the top 5 nationwide

    Top 5 States
    New Jersey - 1 in every 623
    Delaware - 1 in every 870
    Illinois - 1 in every 1030
    Maryland - 1 in every 1065
    Florida - 1 in every 1093

  4. The economy sucks on the shore. A half acre waterfront lot two streets over from me just sold for 6.5 million dollars. Guess where? FL.

  5. Ocean City is a municipality. These are county wide statistics. I'm sure if you took all of Worcester County, that number would be much higher...but don't let understanding geography stop you from commenting...

  6. 1:35 PM it was a reference. And 99% of the homes listed in foreclosure are in Salisbury, but don't let facts and comparisons get in your way either.

  7. 4:53...where did you get your 99% number? You really think that many are only in Salisbury? A simple google search yielded these numbers
    Population of Wicomico County: 102,330
    Population of Salisbury, MD: 33,114

So only 32% of the people in Wicomico County live in Salisbury. But you think they are responsible for 99% of foreclosures? Of course, these numbers don't fit your anti-Salisbury narrative, so I'm sure you will just ignore them.

  8. It's only going to get worse. No good paying jobs, high taxes cause Maryland is greedy and the crime rate is just outrageous. More people will be walking away and moving on from their homes to get to a better place in life. Just so sad that Maryland doesn't care and just taxes their hard working residents as much as they can. S H A M E on you Maryland, greedy.
