Wicomico Public Libraries is excited to announce that beginning Tuesday, September 5 th; the Downtown Library will be validating parking tickets for Library visitors who park in the Downtown Salisbury Parking Garage. A Library card is not required in order to have your parking ticket validated. Visitors need only to present their parking ticket to any of the public service desks at the Library to be stamped and they will receive 3 hours of free parking. Upon leaving the parking garage, visitors should present the validated ticket to the attendant and will receive up to 3 hours of free parking.
The Library’s Executive Director, Andrea Berstler, said she was pleased with this arrangement with the City of Salisbury. “Salisbury intends on developing the open public lots and that eventually the garage will be the place for parking. We are pleased to have been able to negotiate with the city to offer 3 hours of free parking for library visitors. We hope that this change will make the transition to using the parking garages a bit easier on everyone.”

Nice. Park in garage, swing by library, get validated, hit happy hour, free parking.
ReplyDeleteIs it permanent, or a transitional promotion to lure people away from the soon-to-be eliminated lot across the street?
ReplyDeleteMaybe some book learning will rub off on you while getting stamped for free happy hour parking!
ReplyDeleteget validated then walk outside and get violated.
ReplyDeleteWhen the parking lot disappears, so will the library patrons...especially the elderly...personally I am not comfortable in parking garages and will not be using it.
