Airport Employee Punches Passenger Holding Baby Because We Live In A Cruel And Absurd Universe

As Dostoyevsky wrote, a beast can never be so cruel as a man, so artistically cruel, so it’s of little surprise that a random airport worker lashed out with his fist at a passenger — a traveler who was not only holding an infant in his arms at the time, but who had languished for some 13 hours while waiting for his repeatedly delayed flight.

  1. Airports are stressful places, as a result of the safety concerns presented by those that would do Americans grave harm. That's what happens when the stress boils over into physical violence. Airports used to be a joyful experience as passengers departed on their adventures. Kids, welcome to the 21st century.

  2. I don't care how stressful the situation was unless the worker was directly threatened he does not have the right to punch anyone. And after reading the article, this buffon does not even work for the airline. He was a third party worker there to AID the travelers lol. Ah, the wonderful world of our society. It's becoming more and more common and it doesn't have to only be in large groups now (which I avoid).

I truly believe we need to return to the days of "the wild west". It will rid society of some of these ill mannered people, but also some innocents, unfortunately. But who was it that said an armed society was a polite society?

I must be turning into one of those so called "snowflakes". I am getting so tired of this type of behavior and the people who commit it. Not to mention just getting tired of people in general.

You claim to have read the article, how about reading the comment you responded to. No one was excusing what the worker did, or claim he had a "right" to hit anyone. The point was only that airports are now stressful places, and stress leads to aggression. That is simply a behavioral observation, as documented in behavioral science. "Unfortunately," you advocate killing a few innocents in order to get rid of the ill mannered guys. Punching someone does not mean a death sentence in a civilized society. There are plenty of places in the world where there are armed societies, but they are anything but polite. Just for one (there are many), take Somalia, for example. They are all armed to the teeth, and the warlords are killing each other's tribes daily. Try going there and see how polite they are to you. That saying "an armed society is a polite society" is pure hogwash. In many places in the world, is is the very opposite.

BTW, I am a pro second amendment American. That doesn't mean I support settling every disagreement with another person with a gunfight. Advocating that is some backward thinking.

Oh Lord, really? Don't be so sensitive or narrow-minded. Being armed and being equipped for war is not the same thing. Try to grasp the bigger spectrum and don't feel like you failed an essay test. Everything is not directed at you believe it or not.
