Al Franken responds to calls to cancel appearance with Kathy Griffin due to photo shoot controversy
Minnesota Sen. Al Franken, a Democrat, may feel comedian Kathy Griffin went “too far” with her latest project, but he’s refusing to cancel his appearance with her later this summer.
“Kathy’s a friend and she’s a terrific comedian, but this had no business being in our public discourse,” Franken told CNN’s Alisyn Camerota Wednesday morning.
Griffin faced incredible backlash Tuesday for a graphic photo shoot depicting the comedian holding a bloodied and detached replica of President Donald Trump’s head. At the time, Griffin said she and photographer Tyler Shields “are not afraid to do images that make noise.”
No problem. I'd just want to see a promotional poster for their concert depicting each of these so-called comedians on stage together, holding the mock severed, bloodied head of each other's mothers. They'll both certainly agree that this would be HILARIOUS! Maybe Franken as grandkids - say, 11 years old or so. Think of how funny it would be for them to see Grandma's head lopped off. They both feel that this is comedy (and art) at it's very best, so they should have no problem whatsoever. I for one can't stop laughing.
They are showing the world what hatred is all about. What shining examples of humanity. Even ultra liberal Anderson cooper was man enough to be publicly disgusted by what she did.
Al Franken is a moron. He is one of the worst Senators who made a mockery when the Gorsuch hearings were going on.
