I read your blog occasionally and I now have a problem and hope you can shed a little bit of light on the situation for me or perhaps your readers can.
I was just visited by Salisbury Assistant Chief Brian Records at my home. I am not sure how I feel about him coming onto my property. He basically demanded that I attend a meeting that is being held at the fire house on Beaglin Park this Thursday evening in regards to the ongoing issues with the volunteer firemen. I understand they want all this support but them badgering us county residents does not shed a very good light on their cause. If anything it makes him look unprofessional by soliciting for support when he should be worried about continuing to provide service.
Hopefully I am able to get a little bit of clarification on why these men have resorted to these scare tactics instead of just letting things work themselves out.

DeleteThe paid Firemen / Firewomen need all the support they can get for several reasons. They need the money designated for Volunteer firemen / Firewomen so they can buy their useless toys that the only use they get is cruise-in around to put mileage / hours on the equipment to record fake justification. They would have to find a real job where they have to work instead of riding around on paid time in tax payer vehicles. They would not get to travel to other regions instead of being in Salisbury / Wicomico County doing their job. They would have to work more than 8hrs a week and do nothing the rest of the time. Watch how much time is spent around the College and Student Housing areas now that it is getting warm / hot weather.

ReplyDeleteI am sure that Bryan did not "demand" that you attend a meeting about how this will affect you. I am sure that he was there to inform you of the meeting. Bryan is a serious person who takes his job and the welfare of others seriously. Unlike the volunteers who are not going through proper training and trying to throw together a ragtag crew that cannot manage to show up to fires in a timely manner or get training as required. You should be thankful that your current fire department wants to make sure that you are informed of what is going to happen to your homeowner's insurance and possibly your life if a these individuals were to be given their way. What you should be more concerned about is being informed instead of trying to incite more negativity and drama.
It is a shame that all these attacks on good firemen are allowed to go on. And if you are going to call Brandon Records an idiot, you should probably learn to spell and write.

Of course Fake Day would take them back knowing they would be getting the County funding. Hoppes is the one that doesn't want them to come back and he has made that very clear.
Also, the deal breaker is Hoppes. All parties involved want Hoppes gone, but Jake Day doesn't have the balls to put him into retirement. They also don't want John Tull or Darrin Scott to lead them. I don't think there is someone in that department that is qualified to be the fire chief.

You don't think? Darrin Scott is so dumb he failed his realtor exam 5 times before he finally passed it. He has one of those fake fly by night "degrees" by Columbia Southern University that some of the smarter ones had to do the work and online testing for him. That is why Hoppes, Tull, Gladwell and Scott have some kind of "college degree" from Columbia Southern University which is a diploma mill. You just pay for the classes, get someone to do the work for you and then they send you a "diploma" to put on your wall to tell people you "went to college." FAKE DEGREE all the way.
Who else from Salisbury has or is working on the fake college degree from Salisbury FD?
Station 17 will be the building across from the Ward Museum. Station 1 is already taken because it already belongs to the Station 1 volunteers whether you like it or not. Their charter is the LAW and it says Station 1.

And as far as the Shorebirds stadium goes I know for a fact that the players can't stand him. He has also been accused of taking some of their equipment from there.
Why Chris Bitters doesn't get rid of him I have no idea, but I am going to find out.
Why does the fire chief and the mayor allow him to take a city radio to the Shorebirds stadium and talk on it to ambulance crews while he is there. They already have EMS crews there that can handle the balls that hit fans.
Let's look at the bigger picture here. The station 1 members who left because they can't follow rules or pass their classes are telling the citizens they are ready to hit the ground running. However the fire truck they brought is 25 years old and they were only able to out 5000 down on it. Most people on here can afford to put that much down on a new vehicle. Where is all the money they have? What is going to happen when your child, grandchild at Parkside needs an ambulance, can see an ambulance but has to wait for one coming from down the street? Who do the address the lawsuit to?

Speaking of those fake mail order college degrees from the fake college called Columbia Southern University. If Rick Hoppes, John Tull, Darrin Scott, Jimmie Gladwell, Brooks Morris or any other wannabe firemen really wanted a real college degree they could have gone to a real college like Salisbury University, The University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Del Tech, Wilmington University, Delaware State, University of Delaware, Wor Wic Community College. Heck if they wanted a real Fire Science degree completely online they could have done the program at the University of Maryland University College. Yes, UMUC has a real fire science degree or even a business degree online and it is an accredited university. Not only that, they could have been fully reimbursed by a scholarship program offered for firefighters, but no, Hoppes wanted to waste your money. Not only that, the firemen get to cheat taking online classes at "Columbia Southern University." I would be embarrassed to tell someone I went to college and hang that fake diploma mill degree on my wall.

Bryan Records moved to a house closer to Salisbury University so that he can ride his bikes around the campus and snoop in the dumpsters. Then he would sneak back after dark and steal what ever he saw in the dumpsters. He would park his white pick up truck on one of the side streets close by while he was dumpster diving and then steel what is in the trash can.

If there is a reported fire he would go up the ladders and peak in the windows to see if girls were coming out of the showers. All the perverts at the Salisbury Fire Department brag about the girls coming out of the showers with towels wrapped around them while on calls. Any time there is an ambulance call on SU's campus a fire truck and the assistant chief responds to the call so that they all can perv on the students there.

Many people feel exactly the way that you do. If you say anything about the Rednecks, I mean Records Klan you will be attacked by Stevie, Bryan or Brandon. They are uneducated rednecks that can't get a real job and they think they are the best legacy, but they are not. We are all surprised that they have not been killed. They have been hurting other firefighters for years based on the stupid actions they have committed over the years. People have been burnt because of the hot dog actions. One person had their foot crushed and nearly amputated on the ladder truck because of the stupid actions of Stevie Records. Brandon Records wants to go beat up anyone he doesn't like and then we come back to Bryan Records who is sucking up to Jake Day and Muir Boda who are condoning his stupid actions on Facebook.
Joe should have called out Bryan a long time ago, but Bryan is a smooth talker and likes to lie. He hates Albero and he makes that known around the fire stations. He bad mouths albero worse than he does the volunteers. Bryan is a coward who talks nice in your face and then stabs you in the back when you aren't looking.

I've always wondered about his gender preferences.
What other fire officer rides around all night like with a portable scanner listening to police calls and showing up on police scenes. Makes me think he loves a man in uniform. I think he has a serious man crush on the young Maryland State troopers trying to do their jobs because he doesn't have anything nice to say about the Salisbury police officers.
Jake Day why are you allowing Rick Hoppes to allow Bryan Records to ride around in a $100,000 city vehicle, burning city gas, squirreling police calls all over the county and getting in their way! Do your job Mayor Jacob Day and fire their a$$es!

Instead of Barb Duncan calling Polidore and telling him to return something the volunteers bought with county funding, she should probable secure a search warrant for the Station 16, SFD and the Records resident to see what he has out in his shed and in his house that doesn't belong to him. Bryan really is kind of dumb. His life is nothing but the fire service. Absolutely nothing. He eats and breathes the fire service and wanting to die a hero and thinks everyone looks at him as a hero. He bashes all volunteers, especially now the Station 1 volunteers and he thinks everyone looks at him like he is a hero for doing it. He thinks his father was the greatest firefighter in the history of the fire service and I have new for you, he wasn't. He keeps posting pictures of himself when he was younger with hair and no one really cares. He is so in love with himself that he is living in the past. He thinks that knocking on peoples doors and telling them they have to attend this Tri Townsend Meeting for Station 1 at Station 1 is life or death. It might be life or death for Bryan Records because he may be forced to retire when the city has to fire 25 or more paid firemen. Then he couldn't come back as a volunteer because there will be no volunteers again and never will be because Hoppes and his cronies, including Bryan, have all but eradicate the volunteer system in the City of Salisbury.

I am not associated with the fire dept. or the police dept. I just visit this site daily to catch up on different topics. I am shocked to read some of the vile comments that I am guessing are from men. For the record the Vollies in the City of Salisbury ran every fire call in their respective districts(except Tri Townsends own Station 16) without the help of the paid firemen. The only thing the paid firemen did was start up the fire trucks so they would be running when the vollies showed up. The only paid crew was at Station 16 or Headquarters. During the day Monday through Friday Station's 2 and 1 had a duty crew from 8am to 5pm. Station 2 had a house man around the clock to feed the dog. The house man also started up the fire trucks if a call came in and at night they pulled their cot out and got ready for bed when the sun went down. Eventually the volunteers go rid of the houseman because all he was, was a hateful person that hated volunteers. All for of them were useless and lazy. Ironically Rick Hoppes' relative Greg Hoppes was one of them. He was lazy and eventually got promoted to Lieutenant and granted an invented lazy position.
Station 2 would have a structure fire in their district at night and the paid firemen were not dispatched. If help was needed the volunteer officer in charge requested Delmar, Parsonsburg or Station 1. During the day when the paid fire duty crew was on and a mutual aid call came out for Fruitland, Parsonsburg, Hebron, Delmar or any other district, all they did was pull the fire trucks out for the volunteers to go`assist with the mutual aid volunteer companies. You see, the paid firemen really weren't needed and they hated that. They hated the fact that they were only there to supplement the volunteers.
Then came Baltimore County reject Stephen K. Brezler(author of the city/county fire service study/agreement). Reject Fire Chief Brezler was hired by Reject Mayor Barrie Tilghman and he only lasted about 2 years. Steve Brezler hated volunteers and he was ran out of the Baltimore County Fire Department and Barrie Tilghman was stupid enough to hire him. Steve Brezler was the beginning of the era of paid fire officers scheming to run off the volunteers for a fully paid fire department. By then the Salisbury Fire Department already started responding on car accidents to increase the call volumes to justify the paid fire jobs. This was never done before in Salisbury unless it was a reported car accident with entrapment. The fire department never ever responded on car accidents because they were not needed and never were. The City leaders should demand that the fire crews stop responding on car crashes like they used to do it because again it isn't needed.
Then Brezler started sending the paid fire crews to assist the volunteer fire departments on mutual aid calls and make the volunteers just stand by. This wasn't receptive of the volunteers. Then he took the paid assistant chief off the engine and put them in an expensive SUV paid for by the volunteers county funds and approved by Barrie Tilghman. This was something else that the volunteers didn't like because he gave a new job to the 4 paid assistant chiefs making them in charge of the volunteers and the responded city wide on calls that were not needed. Hoppes was behind this move. Now you see why Station 2 wanted to secede?
Then David See and Rick Hoppes carried his torch of volunteer hatred. They continued to invent self imposed standards to make it difficult for the volunteers with a long term goal of eradicating the volunteers in the City of Salisbury.
This is the most honest and truthful post on this topic EVER!! The volunteers handled pretty much EVERYTHING without any issues until Brezler decided to grow his power by hiring more and more paid firefighters. It was and continues to be...all about job security. The paid firemen know that they truly aren't needed. All they can do is use scare tactics to make the public fearful. It's all about job security for them because they know that they would actually have to WORK if they weren't being paid by the city to sleep.

The standard and changes imposed are brought about by broader changes in the fire service, which is much bigger than any one department or individual.
The changes and standards exist for a reason and whether or not you want to be held to them they are concensus standard that would apply in court.
No none is scheming to run out volunteers, you actually are needed. You need to actually step up to the plate and understand the bigger picture of the fire service you are a part of.
It's not about you. It's about the citizen and the department evolving to be a better organization and provide a better service.

The city doesn't have the right to claim the fire district in the county. It belongs to the county, not the city. The city is just using it to build an empire in the city. The Station 1 district belongs to Salisbury Station 1 by right, not the Salisbury Fire Department. The city needs to get over it and take their losses.

If I was a volunteer at Station 1 I would only come back if they got rid of Rick Hoppes, John Tull, Darrin Scott, Jimmie Gladwell and a couple of other ones. Also have the opportunity to vote on their fire officers annually and not yes men appointed by "Hoppes" or the chief.
As a county resident, I am truly saddened to read such horrible comments. I am disgusted with both paid and volunteer members. You all are doing nothing but creating a black cloud over your groups. Nobody wins when they trash each other. Its sad that this junk is out there for everyone to see. Why don't you all give yourself some respect and stop belittling each other. You all are adults, right? What really would make more sense than putting comments on this site, which really gets you nowhere, would be to show that you are better than this. Schedule a meeting for everyone, paid and volunteer members to meet. Talk it out, shout it out, but get it out in front of each other. Can't you all at least try?

ReplyDeleteI don't claim to be a godly person, but the older I get, I do try to be a better person. I am no spring chicken now, so I really try to think about how I treat others, even when I am not treated fair. I don't try to keep getting back at others that have done me wrong. I try to be the better one and let certain things go. This doesn't mean that the bad person wins, it just means that I am tired of fighting about things that I can't control. I don't know the ages of these commenters, but if they really want to get things done in a more respectful, grown up way, this mess needs to stop.
