Are you people nuts? He does something to benefit the planet and the place you call home and you dumb heads call him out on it? Are you all getting kickbacks from the fracking companies?
I wonder how the Maryland Republican representatives in Frederick, Hagertown, and Cumberland area feels about the fracking ban. Fracking is about the only economy with the exception of coal.
Personally, I am glad they have banned fracking on the western shore because I don't want to have my kitchen faucet explode because I can no longer afford to have electricity. I now have candles lit all around my house as the electricity is to expensive to afford because of even more environmental regs.
I don't think you get the drift. Fact is, there aren't any jobs left in our country - unless you consider hamburger flipping as the wave of the future. The people spoke loud and clear on election day, and want to 'Make America Great Again!'.
Thank you, Carl. I am well aware of the damage fracking has done elsewhere and appreciate your willingness to take heat even though you did what was best in the long run.
If you think Somerset, Dorchester, and Wicomico are poor, just wait until you see the Appalachia area. They need all of the Fricken Fracken they can get + clean coal.
Although I voted for this boy, I knew this or anything else, would be no surprise coming from him. I just voted against ole Norm that had been there too long. You are the one that is nuts (and dumb too!) So he's against fracking but has no problem killing people with all the industrial factory farms on the shore. He's such a hypocrite. Fracking isn't nearly as harmful to the environment as the toxic waste coming from all the chicken houses.
Let's see if we can get the big picture here: 1. US Senator Mikulski advocates and bans all oil exploration in Chesapeake Bay. 2. Critical area regs bans virtually all residential development. 3. Calvert Cliff's can't start up reactor #3 because of nuclear regs. 4. Maryland & Federal officials ban coal as fossil fuel for electric generation. 5. Maryland bans Fracking & Gas exploration.

Response: All of the above. My advise to you, get with the program and help us 'Drain the Swamp'.
Thank you Carl! It's hard to have a job if the Earth beneath your feet isn't at all stable. Also..if you need a job and flipping burgers is your only option then you put on that hat and do it! Stop being a spoiled baby.
Forget political parties. We just need to do away with them. Regarding fracking, I'm glad Anderton is looking out for MD. We don't need any earthquakes as a result of fracking like they are having in Oklahoma.
Thank you, Carl. I am well aware of the damage fracking has done elsewhere and appreciate your willingness to take heat even though you did what was best in the long run.
Carl, Carl, Carl, what the heck are you doing? Have you lost your mind? We want answers as to why you voted the way you did? Due to Md over taxation and over regulations is why this state is so stagnant, and the job loss in this state over the last 10 years or more. People voted for you and gave you a chance. This is not what we signed up for. You made a big mistake on this one. What were you thinking? We demand answers on this.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but fracking has been going on for 10-20 years, and I have seen ONE video of gas from a faucet, and I'm not convinced it's a real thing.
There's no major evidence that fracking has ever been less than totally a wonderful thing, but as we all know, everything has its minor limitations. I recall NO headlines in the last 63 years about bad things resulting from fracking.
Thank u Mr. Anderton for sticking up for Our environment!!! We appreciate your commitment. Like the person said---- for those of you who don't believe fracking is destructive---- Go watch the Movie "Gasland" ( it's all about the money people, it's not about our welfare.)
To the one person who keeps writing comments in favor of the fracking ban. We are tired of reading your repetitive comments slanted toward all of the Democrat talking points.
8:30, I only wrote the one comment thanking Carl. You must be talking about All the others commenting against fracking.
To those bashing Mr.Anderton, stop being so critical. It wasn't like he was casting the tie-breaking vote. If he votes 99 out of a hundred in your favor, you gonna trash him on one vote?
If there are so many for, and so many against fracking, maybe it's not a good idea.
Banning production of a NATURAL energy resource. Yeah, like that is good for the state and its citizens. Maryland has both coal and natural gas sitting under it and those morons in Annapolis say Marylanders can't have it. Geez, just when I thought I couldn't hate this state and its government any more than I already do.
Carl does not represent his constituency, he represents himself. Delmar Mayor is about all he could hope to be. He is over his head. Carl, look at who represents your district and represt them and drop your big boy persona.
7:09 Posting said that his faucet exploded due to his candle lights.
You stupid a_ _ - how in the world could your Powellvillian residence faucet expode be caused by fracking being done in Frederick or Cumberland, MD? Surely you must realize that you are not only separated by several hundred miles, but also by the Chesapeake Bay. Talk about being fed kool-aid, IMHO you've had way to much.
8:59 PM Neither of you have a clue since you have never experienced it. I suggest you get off your a$$es and take a tour of the communities and lives that have been destroyed by fracking, then you can comment.
I know people who live in the communities near where fracking is done and/or also work in the industry-PA, NY and OH. They are all fine, the communities great and prospering due to the fracking and they AlL say without conviction the dangers are way overblown and even not true at times. There are issues concerning the environment to be concerned about the excess of chicken manure on the lower shore should be a main one but certainly not fracking. The other is food production which also includes chicken and other meats and the poisons the government allows in the food supply.
People's safety should come first. Research fracking thoroughly before judging. Unless new procedures are being performed, there are dangers in fracking, including contaminating drinking water. I'm sure Anderton saw much more information to make an informed vote than many of you care to take time to study.
7:55 There is zero evidence to support the notion that fracking contaminates wells. This because the water supply is much higher then where the fracking is done. There is no way any contamination can make it's way up to the aquifers.
7:55 - Or he ignored the economic facts in which case he made a tremendous mistake. The Appalachia region is in dire need of job generation. You can't generate jobs by banning an entire industry.

How about you putting your so called education where your mouth is and name these communities that have been destroyed by fracking! How about I answer for you-you can't because you are lying. Now let me educate you-the fact is communities near fracking operations have prospered. Real estate prices have risen and employers like Walmart etc have had to raise wages so to compete for employees with the fracking industry. Don't be spreading false information lies really. It is NOT productive. Now instead of shooting from the hip because you 'heard' something in some movie that found a handful of people dissatisfied or something you heard on CNN YOU need to truly educate yourself. Now again NAME these communities or stop with your nonsense.
LOL oh right I'm sure Anderton saw much more info. Like he has the intelligence to grasp anything. I mean he is in complete support of factory farming but against fracking. He's only proved he isn't the brightest bulb in the pack.
The only "negatives" to fracking that have been proven are the emissions from the diesel trucks used to transport, noise, smell, wear and tear on roads. As far as contamination of the water supply, it's impossible.
Another what they wanted you to think they were politician. Photo ops and free food and drink is apparently his forte, He sure has been siding an awful lot with the liberals lately
There are NO communities that have be devastated by fracking. ZERO and to say otherwise is either liars spreading propaganda or those who ARE extremely low information and like good little fools repeat the propaganda. Now there are communities who are now devastated because fracking was banned and that is what the propagandists are speaking about and good little fools like those above who gulp down the propaganda rammed down the throats in their brainless heads do repeat the nonsense. Gotta love the go to the communities devastated BS. Like those spewing this have ever gone themselves. The BSer's can't even name the communities.
7:14-enlighten us. Don't be disingenuous. Do tell us of "the damage fracking has done elsewhere." You aren't dealing with your minions here. You are dealing with intelligent people so either put up or shut up with your empty statements. If you can't put up then it will prove you are nothing more then just another liar.
I took it upon myself to search out these areas that have been devastated by fracking. Seems they are elusive even phantom. All I could find was real estate selling at significant prices in areas of ND and other states where fracking is currently occurring. For example a manufactured home that you would be lucky to get $175,000 here goes for $375,000. I went to environmental websites and it was all this "could" happen and this "may" happen and "if this does happen." The only negative they could list was the emissions from the trucks used to haul and the overload on schools and other infrastructure. What's funny is the same people who are claiming this are all for immigration which too stresses the infrastructure. This is why the anti fracking crowd is to be dismissed for what they really are-griping just to hear themselves gripe because it makes them feel important. There is no consistency in their messages.
Anderton voted that way because only those that were brainwashed with that fake video where the ones that contacted him...to support the ban. The rest of you {his constituents} didnt both to contact him, instead hopeing someone else would do whats right....happens with ALL the reps and ALL the Bills...wake the Ell up people.
One thing is quite clear by the way Anderton voted, he's not for job generation. And if I'm not mistaken, that is one of the key issues he based his entire campaign on. That's why I don't trust any politician. Just like Trump says, 'they'll tell you anything just to try to get a vote'. And then once they get - they forget about anything they promised during the campaign.
It really looks bad for Carl Anderton because even went against all other Republican Delegates like J Jacobs from (Queen Anne's and Caroline County) and Republican Delegate J Clark (Calvert & St. Mary's Co.), Republican Folden (Frederick Co.), Republican B. Ciliberti (Frederick Co.), Republican W. Beitzel (Garrett & Allegany Co.), Jason Buckel (Allegany Co.), W. Folden (Frederick Co.)
Look-up how he voted yourself if you don't believe me. Maybe he's decided to change political parties?
Each one of you need to pick up the phone and ASK Carl why he made the decision that he did. I think all of you would be amazed at why. There's a lot more to this bill then you think. Starting with property rights.
Bad move on Anderton's part. Breaking with Republicans and siding with Democrats on any issue is danger play now days with liberals being as unhinged as they are. Crossing aisles is no longer option.
Hogan supports banning fracking... And also 7 other republicans support the ban... Even if they put regulations there would be virtually no land to drill. Fredrick County is becoming more like Montgomery County such as pharmaceutical companies and etc
I do not know how others might feel, but in my mind and in light of the State's dismal economy, virtually any new regulations that might result in undermining new job generation or economic growth, I would vote against them. I say that because we don't really have a choice anymore, as virtually all of our country's mfg. is now gone. You know it, I know it, all you have to do is take a look around - all are gone.
How many people on here truly know anything about fracking other than what you've read on the great WWW!! I understand party lines but talk to real people in Oklahoma and the like then make your opinion sometimes things are not as good as you may think.
All I can say is that I just hope MD doesn't cut any entitlements because that without the social programs we don't have any viable options. And to the youth and minorities, its Welfare, here I come.

If you are really concerned about the planet then why are you driving a car that burns gas? I bet you home is heated by some sort of fuel? If you have electric in your house how do you think it's created? What about those plastic water and soda bottles you drink out of? What about everything you buy at Walmart? How do you think it got here? By truck using fuel.

I love hearing people making stupid comments like doing away with political parties. It shows your ignorance and lack of intelligence.
We will always have a conservative and a liberal party no matter what you call it you ignorant Douche Bag.
I knew from the day I met Carl Anderton and let him in my house I knew he was a fake. I didn't vote for him, I voted against Norman Conway and now I realize even that was a mistake.
I think calling Carl Anderton a RINO is being to nice. I knew when I kept seeing his pictures with Jim Ireton and Jake Day all over Facebook we were in trouble. He is to close to those 2 Democrats.
Look what Carl Anderton's biggest supporter did. She jumped ship with the Republicans after being their club President. She protested with Molly against Trump and became her good friend. I heard Carl was at that protest as well.
Love how any politician that has the balls to vote across party lines once in awhile is a RINO to the far right republicans. No better than the far left wingnuts. I'm a republican and don't care about stopping abortion or who can use what bathroom. What is important to me is cutting the waste and fraud in government spending and bringing the trillions of corporate dollars being hoarded offshore. That is what will stimulate the economy. Western MD doesn't need fracking, they have coal and the ability to learn how to do other jobs.

ReplyDeleteI took it upon myself to search out these areas that have been devastated by fracking.
ReplyDeleteThe water in Pittsville was brown and where was the outrage?
ReplyDeleteAnderton voted that way because only those that were brainwashed with that fake video where the ones that contacted him...to support the ban. The rest of you {his constituents} didnt both to contact him, instead hopeing someone else would do whats right....happens with ALL the reps and ALL the Bills...wake the Ell up people.
ReplyDeleteOne thing is quite clear by the way Anderton voted, he's not for job generation. And if I'm not mistaken, that is one of the key issues he based his entire campaign on. That's why I don't trust any politician. Just like Trump says, 'they'll tell you anything just to try to get a vote'. And then once they get - they forget about anything they promised during the campaign.
ReplyDeleteIt really looks bad for Carl Anderton because even went against all other Republican Delegates like J Jacobs from (Queen Anne's and Caroline County) and Republican Delegate J Clark (Calvert & St. Mary's Co.), Republican Folden (Frederick Co.), Republican B. Ciliberti (Frederick Co.), Republican W. Beitzel (Garrett & Allegany Co.), Jason Buckel (Allegany Co.), W. Folden (Frederick Co.)
ReplyDeleteLook-up how he voted yourself if you don't believe me. Maybe he's decided to change political parties?
Each one of you need to pick up the phone and ASK Carl why he made the decision that he did. I think all of you would be amazed at why. There's a lot more to this bill then you think. Starting with property rights.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you 8:28 Poster. If I felt uncomfortable about the record vote then I would have abstained, that would have been the smart thing to do.
ReplyDeleteBad move on Anderton's part. Breaking with Republicans and siding with Democrats on any issue is danger play now days with liberals being as unhinged as they are. Crossing aisles is no longer option.
ReplyDeleteHogan supports banning fracking... And also 7 other republicans support the ban... Even if they put regulations there would be virtually no land to drill. Fredrick County is becoming more like Montgomery County such as pharmaceutical companies and etc
ReplyDeleteI do not know how others might feel, but in my mind and in light of the State's dismal economy, virtually any new regulations that might result in undermining new job generation or economic growth, I would vote against them.
ReplyDeleteI say that because we don't really have a choice anymore, as virtually all of our country's mfg. is now gone. You know it, I know it, all you have to do is take a look around - all are gone.
Republicans uh, you mean RINOs supporting bans on fracking show their ignorance about fracking. Slaves to MSM garbage.
ReplyDeleteHow many people on here truly know anything about fracking other than what you've read on the great WWW!! I understand party lines but talk to real people in Oklahoma and the like then make your opinion sometimes things are not as good as you may think.
ReplyDeleteUntil the Rep water is fd up then they will be talking out the back of there neck.
ReplyDeleteAll I can say is that I just hope MD doesn't cut any entitlements because that without the social programs we don't have any viable options. And to the youth and minorities, its Welfare, here I come.

ReplyDeleteMaybe Carl is going to switch parties and run as a Democrat.
March 14, 2017 at 6:27 PM

ReplyDeleteAm I understanding this correctly? He was in favor of banning fracking and ya'll are complaining? What am I missing.
March 14, 2017 at 6:51 PM
You are not missing anything you Democrat Troll!

ReplyDeleteAre you people nuts? He does something to benefit the planet and the place you call home and you dumb heads call him out on it? Are you all getting kickbacks from the fracking companies?
March 14, 2017 at 6:53 PM
If you are really concerned about the planet then why are you driving a car that burns gas? I bet you home is heated by some sort of fuel? If you have electric in your house how do you think it's created? What about those plastic water and soda bottles you drink out of? What about everything you buy at Walmart? How do you think it got here? By truck using fuel.
Quit being so stupid you dumb moron!

ReplyDeleteAlthough I voted for this boy, I knew this or anything else, would be no surprise coming from him. I just voted against ole Norm that had been there too long. It didn't take Carl long to fatten up at the trough. Like a few more local guys, we don't care to see those mug shots everyday. Just give us results and we will support you. We knew some about you on election day and what you look like. Not seen many that aren't full of themselves, you put your pants on one leg at a time like us minions.
March 14, 2017 at 7:16 PM
You make absolutely no sense!

ReplyDeleteForget political parties. We just need to do away with them. Regarding fracking, I'm glad Anderton is looking out for MD. We don't need any earthquakes as a result of fracking like they are having in Oklahoma.
March 14, 2017 at 7:38 PM
I love hearing people making stupid comments like doing away with political parties. It shows your ignorance and lack of intelligence.
We will always have a conservative and a liberal party no matter what you call it you ignorant Douche Bag.
Fracking is all good until they show up in your neighborhood and you have well water.
ReplyDeleteI knew from the day I met Carl Anderton and let him in my house I knew he was a fake. I didn't vote for him, I voted against Norman Conway and now I realize even that was a mistake.
ReplyDeleteI think calling Carl Anderton a RINO is being to nice.
FAKE
Love how any politician that has the balls to vote across party lines once in awhile is a RINO to the far right republicans. No better than the far left wingnuts. I'm a republican and don't care about stopping abortion or who can use what bathroom. What is important to me is cutting the waste and fraud in government spending and bringing the trillions of corporate dollars being hoarded offshore. That is what will stimulate the economy. Western MD doesn't need fracking, they have coal and the ability to learn how to do other jobs.

Funny you wouldn't say that about your Democrats jumping ship and voting across party lines with the Republicans!

March 19, 2017 at 5:20 PM
They can show up in my neighborhood as long as they pay me. That is the way it happens. Better than Section 8 rental vouchers showing up in my neighborhood.
