  1. We would have been better off to have left Norm Conway in office as apparently there is no difference in their colors.

  6. Carl's position on this one could very well put him out on the street. There is going to be a political price to pay.

  7. Most people would like Carl to focus on cutting taxes and business regulations than this BS what does it take to get this into their heads.

  8. 6:08 - yes this is telling...he should probably go - I would really like to see the money trail behind this one...I would suggest that he did NOT poll his constituents as to their opinions/desires. Meanwhile, we still gotta get rid of Liberal Jim!

  16. I wonder how the Maryland Republican representatives in Frederick, Hagertown, and Cumberland area feels about the fracking ban. Fracking is about the only economy with the exception of coal.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Personally, I am glad they have banned fracking on the western shore because I don't want to have my kitchen faucet explode because I can no longer afford to have electricity. I now have candles lit all around my house as the electricity is to expensive to afford because of even more environmental regs.

  18. To 6:53 Poster that says: 'Are you people nuts?'

I don't think you get the drift. Fact is, there aren't any jobs left in our country - unless you consider hamburger flipping as the wave of the future.
The people spoke loud and clear on election day, and want to 'Make America Great Again!'.

  19. Thank you, Carl. I am well aware of the damage fracking has done elsewhere and appreciate your willingness to take heat even though you did what was best in the long run.

  21. Although I voted for this boy, I knew this or anything else, would be no surprise coming from him. I just voted against ole Norm that had been there too long. It didn't take Carl long to fatten up at the trough. Like a few more local guys, we don't care to see those mug shots everyday. Just give us results and we will support you. We knew some about you on election day and what you look like. Not seen many that aren't full of themselves, you put your pants on one leg at a time like us minions.

Making America Great again doesn't include an open door on trashing the planet so some big corporation can make big $$$.. You are a colossal idiot if you think anyone locally will be making anything after they leave you penniless and with another love canal in your back yard.

You are the one that is nuts (and dumb too!) So he's against fracking but has no problem killing people with all the industrial factory farms on the shore. He's such a hypocrite. Fracking isn't nearly as harmful to the environment as the toxic waste coming from all the chicken houses.

Let's see if we can get the big picture here:
    1. US Senator Mikulski advocates and bans all oil exploration in Chesapeake Bay.
    2. Critical area regs bans virtually all residential development.
    3. Calvert Cliff's can't start up reactor #3 because of nuclear regs.
    4. Maryland & Federal officials ban coal as fossil fuel for electric generation.
    5. Maryland bans Fracking & Gas exploration.

To 6:51 - Poster that said what am I missing?

Due to Md over taxation and over regulations is why this state is so stagnant, and the job loss in this state over the last 10 years or more. People voted for you and gave you a chance. This is not what we signed up for. You made a big mistake on this one. What were you thinking? We demand answers on this.

  35. Correct me if I'm wrong, but fracking has been going on for 10-20 years, and I have seen ONE video of gas from a faucet, and I'm not convinced it's a real thing.

There's no major evidence that fracking has ever been less than totally a wonderful thing, but as we all know, everything has its minor limitations. I recall NO headlines in the last 63 years about bad things resulting from fracking.

To those bashing Mr.Anderton, stop being so critical. It wasn't like he was casting the tie-breaking vote. If he votes 99 out of a hundred in your favor, you gonna trash him on one vote?

educate yourself. your stupid is showing.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I know people who live in the communities near where fracking is done and/or also work in the industry-PA, NY and OH. They are all fine, the communities great and prospering due to the fracking and they AlL say without conviction the dangers are way overblown and even not true at times.
There are issues concerning the environment to be concerned about the excess of chicken manure on the lower shore should be a main one but certainly not fracking. The other is food production which also includes chicken and other meats and the poisons the government allows in the food supply.

    ReplyDelete
  49. People's safety should come first. Research fracking thoroughly before judging. Unless new procedures are being performed, there are dangers in fracking, including contaminating drinking water. I'm sure Anderton saw much more information to make an informed vote than many of you care to take time to study.

    ReplyDelete
  50. 7:55 There is zero evidence to support the notion that fracking contaminates wells. This because the water supply is much higher then where the fracking is done. There is no way any contamination can make it's way up to the aquifers.

    ReplyDelete
  51. 7:55 - Or he ignored the economic facts in which case he made a tremendous mistake. The Appalachia region is in dire need of job generation. You can't generate jobs by banning an entire industry.

    March 14, 2017 at 10:34 PM"

How about you putting your so called education where your mouth is and name these communities that have been destroyed by fracking!
How about I answer for you-you can't because you are lying. Now let me educate you-the fact is communities near fracking operations have prospered. Real estate prices have risen and employers like Walmart etc have had to raise wages so to compete for employees with the fracking industry. Don't be spreading false information lies really. It is NOT productive. Now instead of shooting from the hip because you 'heard' something in some movie that found a handful of people dissatisfied or something you heard on CNN YOU need to truly educate yourself. Now again NAME these communities or stop with your nonsense.

    ReplyDelete
  53. LOL oh right I'm sure Anderton saw much more info. Like he has the intelligence to grasp anything. I mean he is in complete support of factory farming but against fracking. He's only proved he isn't the brightest bulb in the pack.

    ReplyDelete
  54. The only "negatives" to fracking that have been proven are the emissions from the diesel trucks used to transport, noise, smell, wear and tear on roads.
As far as contamination of the water supply, it's impossible.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Another what they wanted you to think they were politician. Photo ops and free food and drink is apparently his forte, He sure has been siding an awful lot with the liberals lately

    ReplyDelete
  56. There are NO communities that have be devastated by fracking. ZERO and to say otherwise is either liars spreading propaganda or those who ARE extremely low information and like good little fools repeat the propaganda. Now there are communities who are now devastated because fracking was banned and that is what the propagandists are speaking about and good little fools like those above who gulp down the propaganda rammed down the throats in their brainless heads do repeat the nonsense. Gotta love the go to the communities devastated BS. Like those spewing this have ever gone themselves. The BSer's can't even name the communities.

    ReplyDelete
  57. 7:26-"they" only "leave" when banned. You can not in good faith and honesty name one place where fracking companies have left on their own.

    ReplyDelete
  58. 7:14-enlighten us. Don't be disingenuous. Do tell us of "the damage fracking has done elsewhere." You aren't dealing with your minions here. You are dealing with intelligent people so either put up or shut up with your empty statements. If you can't put up then it will prove you are nothing more then just another liar.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I took it upon myself to search out these areas that have been devastated by fracking. Seems they are elusive even phantom. All I could find was real estate selling at significant prices in areas of ND and other states where fracking is currently occurring. For example a manufactured home that you would be lucky to get $175,000 here goes for $375,000. I went to environmental websites and it was all this "could" happen and this "may" happen and "if this does happen." The only negative they could list was the emissions from the trucks used to haul and the overload on schools and other infrastructure. What's funny is the same people who are claiming this are all for immigration which too stresses the infrastructure. This is why the anti fracking crowd is to be dismissed for what they really are-griping just to hear themselves gripe because it makes them feel important. There is no consistency in their messages.

  60. The water in Pittsville was brown and where was the outrage?

    ReplyDelete
  61. Anderton voted that way because only those that were brainwashed with that fake video where the ones that contacted him...to support the ban. The rest of you {his constituents} didnt both to contact him, instead hopeing someone else would do whats right....happens with ALL the reps and ALL the Bills...wake the Ell up people.

    ReplyDelete
  62. One thing is quite clear by the way Anderton voted, he's not for job generation. And if I'm not mistaken, that is one of the key issues he based his entire campaign on. That's why I don't trust any politician. Just like Trump says, 'they'll tell you anything just to try to get a vote'. And then once they get - they forget about anything they promised during the campaign.

    ReplyDelete
  63. It really looks bad for Carl Anderton because even went against all other Republican Delegates like J Jacobs from (Queen Anne's and Caroline County) and Republican Delegate J Clark (Calvert & St. Mary's Co.), Republican Folden (Frederick Co.), Republican B. Ciliberti (Frederick Co.), Republican W. Beitzel (Garrett & Allegany Co.), Jason Buckel (Allegany Co.), W. Folden (Frederick Co.)

Look-up how he voted yourself if you don't believe me. Maybe he's decided to change political parties?

    ReplyDelete
  64. Each one of you need to pick up the phone and ASK Carl why he made the decision that he did. I think all of you would be amazed at why. There's a lot more to this bill then you think. Starting with property rights.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I'm with you 8:28 Poster. If I felt uncomfortable about the record vote then I would have abstained, that would have been the smart thing to do.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Bad move on Anderton's part. Breaking with Republicans and siding with Democrats on any issue is danger play now days with liberals being as unhinged as they are. Crossing aisles is no longer option.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Hogan supports banning fracking... And also 7 other republicans support the ban... Even if they put regulations there would be virtually no land to drill. Fredrick County is becoming more like Montgomery County such as pharmaceutical companies and etc

    ReplyDelete
  68. I do not know how others might feel, but in my mind and in light of the State's dismal economy, virtually any new regulations that might result in undermining new job generation or economic growth, I would vote against them.
I say that because we don't really have a choice anymore, as virtually all of our country's mfg. is now gone. You know it, I know it, all you have to do is take a look around - all are gone.

    ReplyDelete
