Maryland Lawmakers Move Fast To Brace For Trump Actions

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — Maryland lawmakers are moving swiftly to pass a resolution to enable the attorney general to sue the federal government, due to concerns about President Donald Trump’s administration.

A Senate committee voted 9-3 for the resolution Wednesday. It will be on the Senate floor Thursday.

The resolution would give the attorney general the authority to sue the federal government without permission from the governor for actions that may pose a threat to the health or welfare of residents.

  2. It will make the taxpayers of Maryland foot the bill for this partisan hack attorney general to sue the Trump administration for every trivial matter imaginable in an attempt to gum up the works.

  10. Is it not disgusting that the Democrats are willing to destroy America because they do not like Trump and want to destroy him?? That just shows me how much they really think of their country.

  11. Md's thug legislature are only protecting illegal/criminal residents, all while thwarting what the majority voted for. they are steadfast these few weeks passing bill after bill that hamper and burden law abiding gun owners, these laws do nothing to stop crime...some unenforceable and contradict Fed laws....but mostly they ensnare law abiding citizens and make them criminals and strip away their 2A rights
These rougue politicians must be stopped immediately!!

  13. And that's what happens when the majority of lawmakers are lawyers. Pass laws that will enrich their profession...that's what they do.

  15. Dave T: Wow, where did we get these senators? They certainly don't reflect my views or those of most folks I know. What a pack of idiots we have in the Maryland Senate. I guess that's how Jim Mathias found himself a home. Birds of a feather certainly do flock together. Gross incompetence at it's best. I'm truly embarrassed to be living an a state with a government administration that is so radicalized to the left.

  16. These Senators were voted in by the "freebie" voters and the DC Political crowd. This is just another example of the 5 Counties and Baltimore City ruling all of MD. The rest of us just pay taxes for these crooks to use and abuse.

And the Eastern Shore will always be the "outhouse" to the State House in Annapolis.

  19. 1118, yeppers. Then that State House loves the revenue generated by OC from May-Sept. The hypocrisy is dumbfounding!
