Man "Beaten To A Pulp" In Salisbury Coming From City Council Meeting

Yesterday we published a story where we were told by a viewer that Mr. Richard Parsons had been mugged. It wasn't actually a mugging, he was simply brutally attacked and beaten, I've been asked not to give details of his injuries. I will say however our reliable source stated "he was beaten to a pulp."

Mr. Parsons had attended last Monday's City Council Meeting and was walking through the Downtown Plaza and then down Fitzwater Street where he was attacked at 1100 Parsons Road. This occurred some time between 6:30 pm to 7:00 pm.

If ANYONE witnessed what happened, please make contact with the Salisbury Police Department and help them solve this horrific crime. Again, this happened Monday night.

  5. So sad. You can't walk alone.

  6. Mr. Parsons is a good man, what the Hell was he thinking walking in that area alone after dark? Bad idea Richard, wish you all the best. Take a cab next time ok.

  7. Was Mr. Parsons coming from the Coucil mtg where Jake Day proclaimed, yet again, that crime is not an issue in Salisbury?

  8. salisbury could be the greatest town. unfortunately, there is no longer a safe neighborhood. i used to think "it's this way everywhere" but it isn't. I did some research. https://www.neighborhoodscout.com/md/salisbury/crime/
What is being done to change this???

  9. If the city and county leaders refuse to go after these animals we all might as well pack up and move...You can call it White flight I call it safety.

  10. 10:28 sadly you need to do more research....it is this way in just about every City the size of Salisbury. Mr. Parsons is a nice guy and what happened is unthinkable....but the "opportunist" thugs beat a man his age for kicks. Ain't they tuff....probably 2 or more jumped him, beat him, then ran.....TUFF BUNCH!

    1. I don't think you read the link. Cities the size of Salisbury make up America, yet Salisbury is only safer than 2% of them.

  11. So sad. Maybe Barbara Duncan can host another pizza party for the thugs. I'm sure that this will not change Jake Day's mind about crime not being an issue in Salisbury. This town is not safe anymore, especially after dark.

  12. Where is all of those cameras they say they have???? Funny they are never working or up and around when stuff like this happens, but they have enough cops to have 4 or 5 or 6 show up for someone video recording with their first amendment rights, and harass them for their name so they can identify them...

  13. Prayers are with you Richard. Very pleasant guy, always has a smile for you.

  14. This is exactly why we need open carry laws in this country. Quit voting for these lame as Democrats who keep bringing us down.

As we speak wannabe Senator Chris Van Hollen is at UMES buying votes saying that new legislation honoring that criminal Harriet Tubman by placing a monument of her on the Capital grounds. Nothing like honoring black criminals for all they do to whites! Hell, for all they do to their own people. Bunch of damn murderers!

    1. We honor white criminals like George Washington all the time. What made Harriet tubmam a criminal? Running away from someone who bought and sold her? Lol. Good for her. She s the best kind of law breaker. Someone should break the law and glue your mouth shut.

Please tell us what "county leaders" are supposed to do about crime in Salisbury?? You are an ignorant moron!

  17. First of all, to all the losers coming on here attacking this man personally, I don't care who you are as a human being, I wouldn't wish something like this on my very worst enemy. An elderly human being was beaten by a low life piece of crap. Your attacks will not get published. Your curse words will not get published. Grow up and stop commenting like thugs!

  18. Each one of city council members including mayors past and present should be made to walk this same path after dark once a week.

  19. Hey, I will walk it....but I am conceal carry permitted.....bet the outcome won't be the same as with Mr. Parsons!!! This kind of attacks are to frequent throughout America.

  20. Where's Councilwoman April Jackson on this? This is her turf. She's only marginally more effective than Shanie Shields, and that only because she actually attends meetings.

  21. That is a majority black area , why can't white people walk through there ?
Blacks walk through white areas .

  22. Richard is a good man who's been a part of, and has done well for, this neighborhood before I met him over 30 years ago (where did that street get it's name?). He certainly deserve this. Best to you Richard.

  25. SO sad.. Why isn't there a reward being offered? This is so sad. This was not far from his business.

I hope he has a speedy recovery and can remember anything to identify the suspects to they can be prosecuted.

  28. If you have a hand gun permit walk through these areas at night.

  29. So...This kind of thing won't happen when there is more development in that area... Correct? While Mr Parsons doesn't have the cleanest reputation, perhaps he should check into some of the riffraff he employs. I wish him a speedy recovery because even those with a shady reputation don't deserve to be beaten to a pulp.

  30. Remember Duncan's motto "hug a thug" !!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  31. If that was my grandfather there would be hell to pay in thugville.

  32. Why is it that every successful person is labeled as shady or a crook in this town. So many jealous people that lack the brains or ambition to work hard and become more than an employee. It is very sad.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Carry a gun. Simple.

    ReplyDelete

  34. Again, comments like he doesn't have the cleanest reputation. I bet the trash that thrashed him, had never seen or heard of his reputation. They are cowards and bad to the core. Richard, I pray that you have a full recovery. You have helped a lot of people and whatever some idiots say on here has nothing to do with the attempted murder charges the turd(s) should be facing.

The number one job of the government is to protect it's citizenry. If you don't know that, research it. So...if the minions don't and won't protect you, you have that task yourself. You do not have eyes in back to watch where the trash attacks from, so be cautious and do whatever it takes. Thank you.

  39. Joe, I can't believe this happened on Parsons Rd between 6:30 - 7PM and no one stopped to help. That area is heavily traveled most hours of the day, but those of us who live on the west side are leery to drive through there at night.

  40. You don't think it's a group of "artists" from their luxury waterfront $300 a month condos do you?

    ReplyDelete
  41. Mr. Parsons, who is old enough to remember when that was a safe place to be at night, should have known better. That said, I feel sorry for him and regret how da Bury has changed since he was a young man. I recall there have also been some savage attacks at the parking lot next the Brew River, and probably still are but being hushed up by City Hall and SPD.

FYI - the Downtown Plaza is a no man's land after sundown, but wait until they build those apartments there -- it will be a war zone.

PS -- anyone else remember that bar/nightclub that use to be in the Fitzwater St. area - it was known by some as the Lock n' Load but that may have been a nickname. And how about the "Tub of Soul" on the other side of Route 50 near the Campbell Soup plant? Gone but not forgotten, and the situation will soon be much worse than it was back in the day.
