CONTACT MATHIAS NOW!

Senator Mathias voted in favor of the Sunshine Tax last year. Governor Hogan vetoed it and now he may be the deciding vote to override his veto.

Tell Senator Mathias to uphold the Governor's veto and not raise our utility bills! http://www.stopthesunshinetax.org/

    1. He has voted yes every year on raising taxes. You think he's doing great? Why are democrats completely okay with people raising taxes while pay isn't going up? Name 5 things he has done or voted yes on that were " great " in your opinion? Not being political I really want to know. Remember the reason why hogan vetoed it? Because Jim already voted yes on it. That's great to you?

  5. Dear Readers,

In regards to the 'Sunshine Act', I urge each of you to take time to send an email to the Senator. I work with, and directly represent many families who suffer financial hardship while attending to treatment for their dependant children with developmental disabilities. Frankly, another rate increase will put these struggling families at a significant deficit, as most (if not all) face astronomical monthly bills not covered by insurance (Many of these families, due to the affordable care act, face bills of upwards of $2,000/month above the typical cost of raising a child today). Certainly a rate increase is not welcome news to any of us, but I ask you to consider sending this email on behalf of not only these families, but to all Maryland families facing financial hardship.

    Most Respectfully,

    Paladin

  9. Jim Mathias is such a liberal loser. Is there anyway he can be voted out of office. Nothing but a career politician spitting in his hand before he shakes yours. Period

  11. My last bill was $40.

DPL contacted me wanting to send a stranger into my home to do a free energy audit. I politely told them to go ugh-themselves.

    They are idiots.

No I do not want a stranger in my home, no I do not want your thermostat that will control my life.

    Jerks

  12. Mr. Mathias, do what is right! As a bonus, if you do, you'll be actually looking out for the best interests and wishes of your constituents.

On fixed income so this vote will be a litmus test in my eyes. I share my views with friends who are less involved.

    Thank you,

  13. Mathias will vote for it again. He has been, is, always will be a fool. People in his district love him and I cannot figure out why, they will vote him in again even after this vote. Just look at the picture. Blowhard Jim!!

  14. I sent him an email but dont have much hope since he is a DUMOCRAT and has already voted for this. What does he care he has lots of money from us taxpayers to pay all his bills. I only have one light on at night. Have the heat turned way down so the fan doesnt run much have the a c turned up and we have a small house. I hang out clothes year round and the @$!# electric bill is still between 150 and 200 every month. WTH?

    1. Is your appliances energy efficient? Also the light bulbs. If you turn your light on at night outside? That's runs it up to, recommend getting a spotlight. My bill is like $110 with conserving energy. In the summer, we in the morning around like 5 am open all our doors and windows to let the cool air in and the close them to keep the cool air in for the rest of the day. That also saves us money. I also recommend reducing your wash loads to like once a week and with cold water!!!

  15. As much as I hate to defend Delmarva Power, remember that the Public Service Commission is the real problem. If you look at your bill, all the things you have no idea what it is happens to be the cost of the gimmie programs your government has demanded of us, not the power company. You pay for all the deadbeats our government has raised. It is that simple.

  16. we conserve energy like 10:36. Still our bill pushes 500 bucks. It will be more than that this month since it "got cold" (winter rates).

  17. 10:50
I have family across the bridge that have homes twice the size of mine and their bill is always lower than mine. All my appliances are less than 5 years old. All bulbs have been replaced. I don't use the dryer in the summer at all and very little in the winter if I can help it. I have one son they have 2 and 3 children. The rates Delmarva Power charges is HIGH. They charge me 17 dollars each month to read my meter even if they don't come out and read it. They haven't been able to explain that to me yet.

  18. Matthias does what he's told by the Annapolis higher-ups. Remember Frank Kratovil and the ACA vote? He remained silent until the dems figured they had enough votes to pass it, then let let him vote against it. They are smart. Jim will be silent, too, and no matter what we say or do, he owes them big-time and will do as they say, not what we want.

  22. 7:29 you are exactly correct, Jim does whatever his slave master Miller tells him to do, he's all talk in his district but turns to putty in Annapolis, just a liberal wearing a conservative suit....

  23. NOT fooled by political B.S. Bob AswellFebruary 2, 2017 at 12:24 PM

I finally have gotten the last laugh. I've told ALL OF YOU just how much of an ass Jim Mathias is. Now this proves it. I've told all of you how he takes money from electric companies that do not serve this area. I've told you how he disregards the mandate of the electorate and yet you people STILL vote for his worthless ass. I don't know what its going to take to convince you all these wind energy companies are flushing the pockets of this bunch of nickel dime politicians who by ill legislation shape your lives into poverty. Go ahead! DON'T LISTEN, you'll pay for it in the end.
Not fooled by political B.S. in Marion........Bob Aswell
