Paid firemen feed money to Unions. Unions feed money to politicians. Volunteers feed their efforts to citizens and money to nobody. The Town of Ocean City has gone the same way as Salisbury and are a Quarter Million in debt to lawyers while STILL negotiating.
When I first heard and read of this separation, I must say I was very skeptical and not very supportive of the Sta 1 volunteers. I have read and kept track of the Mayor's comments, of Chief Hoppes' comments, and articles and statements in the various media organizations. I have to say, my attitude has changed nearly 180 degrees. I think the reactionary stance and comments from the Chief and Mayor bear out some of the problems claimed by the vollies. And this business of having the police on location to prevent the vollies from entering Sta 1, well it's just absurd. I am beginning to see this as much, much different as the Sta 2 whining of several years ago. To Mayor Day and Chief Hoppes.....it sounds like these volunteers have some legitimate concerns that should be addressed FAIRLY by your offices.....and the time is NOW. And for those that may wonder, I am not a member, paid or volunteer, of any fire/EMS department. I'm just concerned.
Congratulations to Station One Volunteers! You have your act together and are articulating your position extremely well. Where would this world be without volunteers? Keep up the good work - you will prevail!
Jake -------the wheels are starting to fall off. You have been warned to fix SFD and SPD. Your lack of leadership in making changes is now impacting the community you serve. Wake up and fix these issues.
Wow.... should have known that jake wasn't telling the truth . Just the way they spoke yesterday would tell everybody that something wasn't true and they were just trying to cover up there lack to lead .
Sounds like its time Day to step down . Crisis of confidence. The city deserves a leader that has the respect of and can direct the agencies he oversees. Step down now Mr Mayor. This city is about more than your political aspirations
Salisbury politics get more like the Obama administration every day. Lies and cover up to fit their agenda. It did not take Day long to fall in line with the leaders and local media do what they ask of him. The little boy Mayor needs to grow a set.
It's funny how the daily times, wmdt and other stations did not release the truth to correct the mayor's statements. Seems like the city administration must have put a lockdown on the media.
Joe Albert you take any side against the city no matter what the issue. If you only knew the group you are dealing with it would change your mind. These people are nothing but mouth pieces you won't find in a fire or cutting someone out of an automobile but you will find them standing around with mouth in gear while others do the work. Neither of them have ever amounted to anything in the fire department other than belong. Most have little formal training and little experience particularly young Foskey & Elliot. Their daddies fill their heads with anger toward any administration or career member and no I'm not paid I volunteer and have done all my life. Joe I don't think you will ever wise up but best of luck to you.. Thank you Bill
Day is so FOS and the sheeple eat it up. Police dept in disarray, officers leaving as fast as they can, fire Dept in disarray, volunteers leaving, the ship is sinking fast!
Why are the city leaders bashing these volunteers on Facebook. This is very unprofessional. Jake day just lost my vote . Good luck station 1 volunteers. Please post if you will have a open house I would like to attend . Joe I seen couple post asking for a donation page is there one .
Guessing records for got the volunteers are not alerted at station 1 after he just asked central was the engine tanker from 1 on the street for a working fire on cherry way . Utility 16 drives at a high rate of speed to go get the engine tanker . Another smart move . The city needs to use them volunteers till July 1st. This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard . The chief and the deputy chief is on the scene assuming to watch there mistakes.
Not a typo in it. I'm impressed!
ReplyDeleteVery professional and you have a good attorney. Well done Station One Volunteers! You sound like the grown-ups compared to the City! Bravo!
ReplyDelete4:58 and that's what you took away from this and felt worthy of commenting on? Sad.
ReplyDeleteCompany 1 makes Day and Hoppes look like a clown show.
Class act. Good for you ! Stand Proud. The truth will prevail.
I knew all along the story the Boy Mayor was putting out there wasn't true, he doesn't know one thing about the truth.
ReplyDeleteHats off to ya Vollies!!! We're proud of ya!!

ReplyDeleteNicely done. A classy response to the children (Jake and Julia) running the city.
