ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — Gov. Larry Hogan has appointed Nick Mosby to a vacant seat in the Maryland House of Delegates.

The governor announced the appointment on Friday.

Mosby, a Democrat, was recommended by the Baltimore City Democratic Central Committee to fill the seat vacated by Barbara Robinson. Robinson was recently sworn in as a state senator.

  3. Disappointing! Understand the custom of appointing a replacement from same party but his wife has not been a good public servant. Would have been better to let this guy hang out in Charm City instead of Annapolis.

  6. Difficult for me to comprehend that he was the best qualified. Just shows you the corruption in MD politics including Hogan who appointed this racist person.

  7. Hogan keeps failing and showing his true colors. He fooled me I'll be the first to admit to it. I will not vote for hogan again and can't wait until I can move from this state.

  8. I was done with this moron when he acted like a playground crybaby regarding the Trump nomination. I will vote for the democrat next election, and as you can see it really does not matter in MD anyway. Will be the second time voting democrat, but will be the first time not regretting it!!

  9. One might imagine that there may have been some good reason why he made this choice.
But I think he would have to explain it to me very carefully, because I can't think of too many reasons that would justify this.

  10. There's No republicans in Baltimore City.... Why is everyone getting upset that he put an Democrat to replace and Democrat that left

  11. He should have put some redneck from the eastern shore in that seat. So many here on the shore that would be able to represent a near 100% minority district.

There have only been 3 GOP governors in the past 40 years or so. Go ahead and vote Hogan out and you will end up with another multi-term Democrat governor. If you spent as much time educating yourselves as you do complaining, you might realize that Hogan is what he can without creating so many waves with the left that he can't get reelected. Dems voted for him and that is why he won. Without their support, he won't get a second term.

  12. We expect a Republican to act like a Republican and not be a chameleon Democrat. Besides what difference does it make to vote Hogan out? He is nothing but a Democrat by his actions. Four Counties and Baltimore City has always ruled MD. Hogan was elected to make waves / changes to how MD is govern and give back MD citizens their constitutional rights. He has "FAILED".

  13. 6:04 He was elected by democrats that switched sides and voted for a republican closer to center than far right. MD will never get a far right republican elected. If by constitutional rights you mean 2A concealed carry, sorry bubs, it ain't gonna happen in MD. There has already been a loosening of permits and many people in this area have been issued permits.

  15. Now we know why hogan doesn't have her investigated for corruption. He had the most crime in any district and did nothing to fix it. Hogan promotes him. Must be nice.
