WCSO Press Release 12-8-16
Incident: Assault
Date of Incident: 7 December 2016
Location: 300 E. College Avenue, Salisbury, MD
Suspect: Daquan P. Parks, 16, Fruitland, MD.
Narrative: On 7 December 2016 at 7:30 AM, a deputy responded to the main office of James M. Bennett High School for a reported disturbance. The deputy learned that one of the school’s assistant principals was dealing with a 16 year old student named Daquan Parks. It was reported that Parks began arguing with the assistant principal and that escalated to a physical confrontation. It was alleged that Parks pushed the assistant principal back over the counter in the main office and began to choke her with both of Park’s hands around her neck. The school principal immediately attempted to intervene to stop the assault at which point Parks began swinging at the principal, landing some punches including one to his head which knocked him to the ground. Parks, who was also knocked to the ground in the scuffle then got back on his feet and went after the assistant principal again, this time pinning her against the wall until additional help arrived and Parks was restrained.
Both the Assistant Principal and Principal suffered injury as a result of the assault by Parks.
The deputy placed Parks under arrest and transported him to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. Following an initial appearance, the Commissioner detained Parks in the Detention Center in lieu of $20,000.00 bond.
Charges: As an adult - Assault 1st Degree, Assault 2nd Degree and Disorderly Conduct
When you choke someone, or cut of oxygen and blood supply to the brain you are trying to kill them. Police? Do you realize this? States Attorney?? This is attempted murder.
ReplyDeleteGood-- some serious charges, and charged as an adult.
ReplyDeleteNow follow through and set an example.
If you don't, and this kind of thing continues, it will be your own fault.
This POS needs his lights knocked out.
ReplyDeleteHe'll be back in school next week! Hope you liberals realize these kinds of kids are going to school with your kids and YOU created the chaos that goes on in every school in the country. Next time, it may be YOUR kid instead of s principal or assistant.
ReplyDeleteNo respect is the problem. His parents are prob on welfare and and we as tax payers are funding this criminal. Without the principal and vice principal going to work and paying taxes this criminal would not have a roof over his head or food in his stomach so he should be thanking them instead of assaulting them
ReplyDeletehe wasn't satisfied with the free breakfast and lunches he was given
ReplyDeletehe will be back in pre algebra class next week, trust me
ReplyDeleteHis brother bailed him out last night and he was back on the streets.
ReplyDeleteSo, what High School should I send my son to next year? This damn place is becoming gangland.
ReplyDelete2:37 I doubt liberals as a whole are responsible for this kid. Comes down to bad parenting or total lack of parenting.
ReplyDeleteLiberal parents that don't teach their kids. My 4 kids would never even consider something like this.
DeleteThis POS will be a great model citizen. He could have been Obama's son if he had one.
ReplyDeleteFreshman are getting bigger every year.
ReplyDeleteThis POS is going to be a career Thug. Another waste in our society. Probably has a single mom, no father figure.
ReplyDeleteno thug left behind
ReplyDeletethank goodness his brother bailed him out, its the Christmas season and I'm sure he wants to celebrate the birth of Jesus
ReplyDeleteif you donate to bless our children we will make sure there is a nice pair of nike's under his Christmas tree, and a 357 magnum, and a butcher knife, and ........
ReplyDeleteWind blown trash.
ReplyDeleteIt's because there is nothing for the children to do so they hang in the streets and learn bad behavior. It's because there isn't "a village" to raise the children. It's because he felt "oppressed" and was only acting out. This was all about anger and frustration and him not knowing how to express it. He is to be excused because he can't see for himself a bright future just the prison system.
ReplyDeleteDo not forget the stocking too 5.21...........
ReplyDeleteIts filled with newports, ebt cards, black talon bullets for the mag and last but not least a new cell phone to stay connected wiff his home boyz to brings him some skrimp, krabs and his preferred beverage Country Club.
This is what happens when you can't suspend someone based on the color of their skin. Now instead of suspension he'll get jail time. Gotta love public schools around here.
ReplyDeleteHe can always get a job working for Wicomico County after he serves his 24 hours in jail. He will probably end up in mgt. at the civic center as long as he is a team player. We are in the fun business.
ReplyDeleteFolks its time we all get it. This is going to be the norm. In the elementary school I work in kids are attacking adults weekly because they cant get their way. the problem is parenting. Or lack there of. Kids are being raised to do what they want to do. It does not matter what discipline a school hands out its not going to make a difference. The Justice systems is failing and there are no punishments for crimes. Until we make parents be parents society will fail.
ReplyDeleteTotally correct!
Deleteif he ends up working at the civic center he will have to deal with lots of meetings and looking at himself in the mirror.
ReplyDeleteWhere are all the so called church and civic leaders in this community?? There doesn't seem to much involvement with these so called leaders unless it's with the small percentage already attending their churches, or it brings some sort of athletic accolades.

ReplyDeleteWhat happened with the kid a few months back that had attempted to rape a girl at that school?
ReplyDeleteWhen are we going to realize that sugar coating the problem is not the solution. Carve this element out of the school system and let the students who want to excel receive the benefit of our
ReplyDeletededicated teachers. In my day this thug would be in jail and ready for some real education on life.
And all of you dolts who claim to be good parents need to chunk the video game systems out. That crap is making them nuts.
ReplyDeleteThey will come out of the woodwork when diddned dunuttin Daquan gets shot by a non ethnic LEO.
ReplyDeleteadd attempted murder to the charges. or doesn't choking come under that label?
ReplyDeleteHe bonded out
ReplyDeleteI agree...choking someone IS attempted MURDER! Come on Salisbury Police Department - do it right!!!
ReplyDeleteYeah...good luck with that. Chief Dykes is rolling over in his grave.
DeleteOne of his family members was on here the other day asking us to pity him.I don't. Sixteen is too old for that nonsense.Charge his parents too if you can locate them.I am so glad my kid does not go to school with these violent feral children.
ReplyDeleteWhat type of pizza did SPD get him? Plain or pepperoni.
ReplyDelete5:39 you sound like you are serious with that stupid rant, nothing to do? How about studying for some better grades, how about playing sports both at school and around your neighborhood, how about volunteering to coach younger kids in the salvation army sports programs, how about finding a hobby you and other kids could do together ect ect ect. Get real those PUNKS don't want to act right and are headed for prison and that's where they belong.
