I also like to drink from time to time, but I stay home and do this and on a Friday or Saturday night with friends who stay over. Got to watch out for those revenue enhancement officers!

  52. I feel for him. I had a DUI over thirty years ago, and I still had to account for this when I had to look for a new job after being laid off after 25 years. Thanks to Google and the internet, the past can come back to bite you in the ass!

They might as well close all bars because in Maryland all you need is one beer to be declared intoxicated! Why the hell have Beer or Wine fests? The chamber of commerce promotes this and the cops are there waiting to arrest you at the exit!

I think he is a great weather guy and I hope WBOC will give him another chance. One of the few real men working there! Just hope he has a good lawyer, he will need one!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Anyone who has been to Market Street could have told you years ago that this was coming!!

  54. In the state of Maryland if you have no active cases or probation you can petition court to have any and all Maryland cases you've blocked from public view. You can do this one time only

    ReplyDelete
  55. Why couldn't be d head Dan?

    ReplyDelete
  56. His life isn't ruined!! If it's his first offense probation before judgement fines court cost alcohol classes. Truth be told WBOC has been sitting back waiting on this, why else would they put it out all over their newscast?? They wanted a reason if they've let him go because of this

    ReplyDelete
  57. Interesting that I don't see this on the WMDT website... but Brian's employers called him out. Guess they have never been called out on the local news when they did something moronic. Don't get me wrong...this shouldn't have happened. But smearing his name is a little much!

    ReplyDelete
  58. If people can't enjoy a beer or glass of wine out then the restaurants shouldn't be allowed to serve it. I'm totally aware of the dangers of driving while intoxicated; but if people were honest, many if not most of us at some time in our lives have had a drink or two out at a restaurant (or elsewhere) and drove home just fine without incident (luckily without getting caught). This post doesn't say what his blood alcohol count was.... was it only moderately above the amount legally allowed or was he actually intoxicated?

Brian seems like a nice and likable guy, and he's a pretty good meteorologist. (He had an unlucky day).

I feel like any other time a DUI/DWI is reported, the comments are much more hateful. "Oh, he could've killed someone" "What an idiot"... now not so much.

    ReplyDelete
  68. For God sake cut him some slack not like he was in an accident, or killed someone. I think he does a fantastic job very professional. Worked for his Dad, Mom and Dad were both great to me, good people. Must have been a real slow day for WBOC, not like their people haven't done the same, my sister worked there and she was and still drinks and drives.

      Delete
    3. Yep, that's him. No experience working the road but wants to hold others accountable for their production by taking their cars. How did that work out when SLEOLA came knocking? Same way it worked out when he screwed up the testing process, another promotion.

  72. WBOC needs to put their "big boy" pants on and support this kid. Grab this opportunity to show they are a family, welcome him back, and yes he should apologize on air, but get on with it. Evidently, Brian has a huge local and not-so local following; what a great example he can be now, especially for the millennials.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Hold up people its a DUI not a DWI. Anybody that has had 2 beers could get a DUI. I know a lot of you go to dinner and have a couple from time to time then drive home and if you say no you are lying. I hope he doesn't get fired he was on his own time not working. At least he wasn't found running around a parking lot in OC naked...wait I'd like to see him naked.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Anyone give any thought of praying for Brian. A man with many good qualities but has a problem or addition. Brian I am praying that you will seek the help to overcome alcohol. We love you and I am lift you up in prayer...

    ReplyDelete
  75. @3:27, I am praying for him too!!

  76. I hope they don't fire Brian but women anchors that get pregnant seem to never come back except Alice Bavis and they gave her the worst time slot you could give a mother of two young children. Just saying. Good luck Brian

  77. DUI - Driving Under the Influence; DWI - Driving While Impaired - different charges, different penalties. DWI used to be the biggest offense when it was Driving While Intoxicated. That was changed a couple of years ago. Now DWI means Driving While Impaired. DUI carries a 1 year &/or $1,000.00 maximum penalty while DWI carries 2 months &/or $500.00 penalty.

I have been a victim of dui lost my entire family to a .02 DUI driver. I Glad to see him caught, maybe it saved someone in your family. Think about it that way. You will not make jokes if it was your family.
