Local Sleep Study Ends In Pain At PRMC
Needing some advice. Kayla had a sleep study done last night. Her nurse was super nice and explained everything really well to her/us. Got her all hooked up and then we went to bed around 1130ish. At 3ish Kayla woke me up and said something is biting her. So I get my phone and turn on the flash light and I see bites all over her arms, then legs, then the nurse sees us up and calls in to ask if we are ok I said no Kayla is being bit by something. And he comes right in. Kayla gets up and we see 2 bed bugs right where she was laying. He grabs them and puts them in a test tube thing and grabs his phone takes pictures of her bites then I realize I have bites all over my arms and legs too. They got Kayla pretty bad over 15 bites and had about 7. So he took pictures of my bites too. Then he gets her unhooked and and I find another one..so he takes every thing off Kayla and sends us on our way. No itch meds. No I'll give this info to my supervisor. No help In making sure they weren't still on our clothes or in our bags. We leave. 10 am no one has called to check on us or anything. So I call THEM! Asked to speak to the supervisor or director. She gets on the phone and says she's aware of what was found and she has a meeting with someone about this in a few mins and she'd give me a call back..told me they had an issue about a year ago but they exterminated and put zip up covers on the beds and they haven't had any issues since. It's now 12 and I've not heard anything back...I'm just pissed bc those aren't baby bed bugs those are full grown ones....and what if I brought some home..and we were in the room that they use for the kids..I don't want no one else to go though this. So what else can I do? And my not saying where this was. I will if I don't get a response.
Publishers Notes: This happened at Sleep Waves at PRMC.
They are going to blame you, they are going to say your brought them in.
ReplyDeleteSo you have a responsibility to out them. Think of all the other patients/families that have gone thru this.
Your assumption is correct, they have had this problem for quite some time and they have done nothing about it, putting patients and their employees at risk
They know about this and also gave issues with scabies that gave been reported many times. They do nothing!!!! The least they could do it s compensate for treatment
DeleteI used to work for the pest control co that services PRMC...we got ALOT of calls for bed bugs...we didn't do much as far as treatment goes. I'm surprised they aren't everywhere at that place!!
DeleteI personally have not seen a bed bug but those look a lot bigger than what I've been told. They would be very large adults.
ReplyDeleteNow that you're back home, be sure to have your own beds, bedding and bedrooms checked for these critters.
ReplyDeleteHope they dont use Accurate I spend $1,200 over 8 months counldn't get rid of the problem call Terminix in spent $2,200 with them....still have same problems.....I wish this on NO ONE....
ReplyDeleteThey are terrible total scam artist. Put a camera in your house and watch how they rip you off.
DeleteI'm sorry you're having to go through this. I believe that you must expose this facility. What they are doing is wrong. You could sue them. You have witnesses.
DeletePRMC has known about this for awhile.
ReplyDelete10:06 and sadly you will die of cancer after those idiots spent a year dousing you, your home and belongings with toxic chemicals that remain active for years.
ReplyDeleteThese local idiots do not know how to treat them and really only care about money. Otherwise they would offer a money back guarantee.
We had some idiot treat for termites and screwed up the job so bad the EPA came in to deal with it. We had to move out for months because he used 5 times more toxic chemicals than he should have. In essence our home was nothing more than an uninhabitable toxic waste site.
IF anyone tells you they are an "expert" run the other way. There is no such thing.
This is kind of like taking your dog to the groomer for a bath and haircut, then coming back and finding that your dog and house are now infested with fleas.
ReplyDeleteKinda scary. My son has an appt there for a sleep study in 3 weeks!
ReplyDeleteIf you spoke to Lindale Hurley, you were wasting your breath, I realize she was "sleep waves" but that woman is a joke. She talks to people any way she pleases and will turn this around to be this family's fault. Surely Pegg Napleppa doesn't want her hospital infested with bed bugs, she better act now before it is.
ReplyDeleteOh my you are so right. She is a complete idiot. Sleep waves is the contractor that manages the area. She is a flipping moron.
DeleteStill doesn't make sense to me why PRMC needs someone that is contracted up there? Didn't they use to have their own sleep lab run by the hospital? I have had to speak to Linda many times on the phone for issues and she is a complete idiot.
DeleteYou need to make sure that you wash all your bedding. You really shouldn't have brought anything in the house that you had with you there. It all needs to be washed in hot water and dryer in a hot dryer. Bed bugs are very easy to get and it's hard to get rid them. Walmart has 91% isopropyl alcohol put that in a spray bottle and spray your bed and another bed affected. The alcohol kills on contact.
ReplyDeleteHeat will kill the bedbugs and any eggs. Hopefully you didn't bring your stuff into the house. Wash and dry whatever you wore in the hottest settings. Anything that can't be washed should be placed into a black plastic bag and left out in the sun for several days. You'll find other advice on various travel forums on the web, but this is the most common.

ReplyDelete^ bed beds can live two years without food.
Best solution is a total heat treatment. It is done in one day, entire facility / house/apartment is heated by technicians who monitor room locations with computer connected thermostats to make sure adequate temperatures are maintained. Some items will need to be removed, but this treatment kills the bed bugs in furniture, clothing, etc. It can be expensive, but worth the money.
ReplyDelete11:14 AM - He should wear a wetsuit.
ReplyDeleteThey has two trauma rooms in the emergency room closed not long ago at the same time due to homeless people who brought in bed bugs. They never replaced the mattress only sprayed it down. Said the mattresses were liquid prof so the bugs couldn't get in. The house keeping folks did their thing and started going into other rooms with changing clothes and with the same carts. Such a dog and pony show there!
ReplyDeleteCall Ladybug Pest in DE. They have canine scent dogs that can detect them. They are awesome peeps with a wonderful reputation.
ReplyDeleteYep..let's bring dogs into a hospital. Now there's a grand idea.
DeletePRMC home of Mersa, Bedbugs, and Staff infections!
ReplyDeleteAnd great leadership. Just ask them, they'll tell you how great there are.
DeleteIn Florida, we just tented houses that had termites. It was expensive, but the vapors went away, and there were no more bugs.
ReplyDeleteThat was 30 years ago. Maybe the technology hasn't reached Salisbury, Maryland yet?

what are you talking about
9:03pm...what are you talking about?
DeleteI read this article this morning and have been itching ever since!! A family member of mine had bed bugs a few years back and from what I was told it was a living hell. So sorry for your family as you probably now have them in your home.

good luck with that. I tried finding a lawyer to sue them over a much more serious matter and was turned away because of the conservative nature of the population. Even tho I was told I had a case. Lawyers work for money not morals.

You can bet Peggy's house isn't infested with bed bugs knowing her salary at PRMC is nearly $1,000,000 per year.
