  2. Again?
Must be tough to get people to come there.
Of course, if it became a college bar...

  3. The restaurant's quality never recovered after moving from what's now the retail and housing next to the university. This location will probably never again flourish as a restaurant. The last time it was decent was in the Waterman's days before the owner screwed up with his taxes and lost the joint.

  4. The place is always packed!

  5. Always though they are over priced. Don't go there, I miss Zia's.

  6. Joe, why don't you buy it and bring in a proper Italian chef. You'd be doing a great public service. Maybe people would behave better if they were properly fed.. :-)

  7. Building for sale. Fratellis will remain as the tenant.

  8. What? Are they going out of business, retiring, or trying to sell the business to someone who will take over Fratelli 's?

  9. Only the building is for sale. Not the business.

  10. I personally love Fratellis and would be saddened to see them close.

  11. 9:30, IF the food is incredible, you know darn well people would travel for a great meal.

  12. Frattelli's claims homemade pasta, which in either case is super bland and mushy. They'd be better off with dry pasta if it had more flavor.

Other than that the chicken is "weird texture".

So they have good crabcakes, breadsticks and salad, that's it. But nothing else is really edible, so what's the point of going?

  13. Had the crab cake sliders last night, very tasty and a filling meal. Just $13. Only the property is for sale, not the restaurant business. Fratelli's has a long term lease and they are doing well. Next door at the old Rt. 12, now The Corner Grill also has awesome cream of crab soup and great wings, but not many customers.

  14. There are no REAL CHEF's doing the actual cooking in these restraunts....in order to TRY AND COMPETE they all use prepackaged / prepared foods from Sysco's and the like! BECAUSE they unwrap it and warm it does not make it HOMEMADE!!!!!! Fratelli's crab cakes are not what they use to be.....crab cakes are one style then the appetizer crab balls are altogether different....owners should know as long as they have been around that don't fly with local folks.

  16. 11:17, aka the EBT Blogger,

I love how you constantly send in such said comments on a regular basis saying I'm broke.

I am a man who owns multiple homes and property DEBT FREE. No mortgages, all paid for 100%.

I also love how you tend to imply you know my personal finances on a regular basis. Hey big boy, I just paid almost $10,000.00 for a new well on one of my properties, what did YOU make this year? Aside from all the entitlements you mooch off the taxpayers.

I'll add, I already owned my own very successful Bar/Restaurant and Billiard Rooms. I have absolutely no interest in going back into such businesses. Aside from that, what is it about RETIRED that you simply cannot grasp?

    Nevertheless, thanks for the laugh.

    1. 10k for a well is about as over-priced as 900k for a building where restaurants go to die.

  19. I heard Blue Hen Spring Works just made a road call to the EBT Blogger, something about an overloaded personal conveyance.

  20. 10:42 I have never been to Fratellis but I agree with you about these restaurants with no chefs that heat up Sysco products. I live in Ocean City and avoid these type of places like the plague but they are everywhere! It's such a shame.

  21. I don't think the food is as good since they moved to Snow Hill Rd. We don't eat there any more.

  22. When my family went there for Mother's Day, the food sucked so bad I called the owner. He didn't sound all that concerned and insisted the food recipes were the same they had since the 90s. Find that hard to believe because the sauce seem to be a canned variety not homemade. As for that location, since Waterman's that corner has been bad luck. Black hole of the restaurateur, no eatery stays there for very long. Why don't they tear down and do a re-do. You know Salisbury could always use another drugstore. ;)

  23. My parents used to go to them when they were on south 13, they raved about the crabcakes. I went to the last place and the current one and did not care for it and never went back. I too liked it when it was Watermans, good seafood bisque soup and everything was good. It's a shame that restaurants don't do well here, don't know if its management and cooks too. But nothing remains too long.

  24. That place will never make it , the competition is way too great right down the street 1 block. The only thing I've had good there was a drink of jack on the rocks . A bit pricey , maybe the government will by it , they don't know any better.

    1. 600 I've had better at Olive Garden and that's chain food. Fratelli's blows. Hope they do close. The owner doesn't give a hoot if people like their food. It's revolting and grotesque.

  25. Its so disturbing to see how people will trash talk a local business. Support your local businesses Salisbury!!! Fratellis restaurant is not for sale, only the building. I am so glad to see Fratellis is not going anywhere!

    1. What's more disturbing is you sitting there damning people for telling their opinions of the food. It sucks. Tell it like it is. I'm not going to lie to placate your need to feel like local eateries aren't being valued. If the guy made better food, he'd have more people in there. He's overpriced for the crap they serve out of a can. If I want that I'd get better staying home because that comes from a glass jar instead of Sysco canned slop. 11:49 maybe you should concentrate more on expressing your own opinions and honor others have the right to do the same. It's not your place to try to coerce people into lying. Sorry unacceptable behavior from you and ducky food from Fratelli's.

    2. Who is this person telling everyone they have to buy yucky food just because it's a local business. Does 1149 go to the Red Light because that's a local business too.

  26. When Fratellis opened, we went there to give them a shot. My young daughter wanted Mac & Cheese.

You'd figure an Italian restaurant would have some awesome mac n cheese.

They brought her, and I kid you not, what looked exactly like GENERIC mac n cheese from a box.

And they charged us over $5.00 for it.

Needless to say, we never went back... Funny thing is we live right down the street.

I'd have to be a minute away from starvation and death before I'd ever darken there doorway again.

  27. The reason the indie restaurants SUCK is because they are too cheap to hire REAL chefs, who have experience and have been to culinary school.
Also,a friend relayed to me that the "Old West" steakhouse around the corner is not too great anymore either. They waited forever and got awful food.
