A California woman was arrested last weekend after getting three speeding tickets within an hour while driving in Pulaski County, Virginia, KCAL-TV reported.
According to police, Kai Kitchen of Los Angeles was taken into custody last Sunday where officers issued an arrest warrant for misdemeanor reckless driving.
Police say Trooper N.S. Rife first spotted Kitchen traveling 93 mph — 23 mph above the speed limit — at around 7 a.m. Sunday on Interstate 81. She received a citation for reckless driving and was released.
But about 40 minutes later, she was cited again, also by Rife, for reckless driving. This time, police say she was going 97 mph.
Then, at 8 a.m., Trooper M.R. Overholt pulled Kitchen over on I-81 for going 94 mph. This time, she was arrested.
According to KCAL, some of Kitchen’s supporters have claimed that she was only pulled over that many times because she is African-American. Her lawyer says that’s nonsense.

ReplyDeleteDriving is a privilege? No I don't think so. You paid for the car, you pay the insurance, you pay the tax, tags and title, you pay for the roads, you pay for the toll booths so you can pay for the roads again. Driving is a method of transportation and freedom of transportation is a human right.
DeleteI-81 is an east coast interstate.
ReplyDeleteYou're right, 9:09. Route 81 in this story is California State Route 81.

the article states it as Interstate 81. I don't know what you two are talking about
She was just "Careless", she didn't understand that it was wrong, and stupid. She couldn't know, it was just a simple oversight, it was not intentional, there is no criminal intent, we can't prove intent.
ReplyDeleteThere's that race cars again. Its just an easy excuse for black people to blame everything on race. Come on I don't care if you are white, black, yellow, red or green. If you are driving 97 miles an hour your going to get pulled over by the cops.
ReplyDeleteThe first sentence plainly states Pulaski County VIRGINIA. The same trooper twice that's priceless. Was she just going back and forth lost or something. Va is tough on reckless driving, it's a mandatory appear at 20 over the limit.
ReplyDeleteOTPH tourons do it everyday on Rt 50 like the beach is going to be gone or something before they get there.
I-81 is in Virginia. Look at a map
