This is nothing new. It became very obvious when Warden Weinbrenner retired, first Warden. He was the only one that tried to eliminate the corruption from growing. These were not the only ones. ECI had a nickname, Division of Corruption. I could write you a book with several volumes about ECI corruption from the time it opened to 2005 When I retired. Some are working at WCDC. Another corrupt place.

ReplyDeleteyou can't get rid of corrupt officers by using corrupt officers to get them out. wcdc is the same way. It turns out that both of the former majors there were keeping a lot of it out, but now the newly promoted are running rampant with favors and demands. It will never change.

ReplyDeleteCorruption covers a lot of territory, what did they do? I recall in Warden Henderson's days at SCDC there was a lot of corruption and a big investigation that led to his resignation, I think he was abusing prisoners but I doubt Warden Green was doing that but who knows these days! More than likely it involved money.
ReplyDeleteSeveral guards there are involved too.....havent looked that low in rank yet but lots of perks are given to prisoners for favors and $$ to the guards. Turn their heads so to speak....

ReplyDeleteSorry these houses of correction are house of corruption. The staff is out numbered 150 to 1. Who do you think actually runs the place. There is not enough money in the world to take on the career of a C/O. No win situation the whole system needs to be restructured. There is no excuse for being corrupt but that system is designed for failure.

while the inmates had a good time ECI was simply their
Retirement Home with all the Benefits No Bills All the
Frills They are used to being locked up and don't stay
out for very long when they get out either
Time is their Only punishment Not much Punishment for the worst ones at all its a Joke to them
There should be a prisoner exchange program for the bad ones sent them to Russia in Siberia to Never return
this will be a good Deterent Time in the USA is a JOKE

There was a time when on ECI Eastside Capt Cunningham and
ReplyDeletethen Major Vann were taking turns staying home while
Getting Paid , since the other would punch them in on their
Time cards thus Stealing State money (a Felony)
But of course ECI (Green) tried to cover it up by only
Firing Cunningham and forcing Vann to Resign > Not much
compared to being charged or prosecuted as should be done.
The Good officers will remember One of many scandals
