He was born male but identifies as female. Nattaphon “Ice” Wangyot, an 18-year old senior at Haines High School, became the first transgender athlete to compete individually for a high school state championship, the Alaska Dispatch News reported.
Wangyot competed in the Class 3A girls’ sprints at the Alaska state meet, grabbing third place in the 200-meter dash (27.3 seconds) and fifth in the 100 (13.36 seconds).
Wangyot’s participation didn’t sit well with many families and athletes, including the Alaska Family Action president Jim Minnery who was part of a protest that took place outside the track event.

They need a transgender sports team. There are big differences between men and women. For a man to compete on a woman's team, makes it unfair for both sexes. Makes the statics inaccurate. Might as well get rid of high school sports teams all together!!!! So glad my kids are no longer in school!!!!
ReplyDeleteModern day Sodom and Gomorrah!!!
Your last statement is spot on, we know what happened to those people too, God was not kind!
DeleteIs there a career in track and field? Even if one goes the distance and participates in the Olympics that's pretty much it,and when they hit their late 20's or early 30's their so called "career" is certainly over.Even high school football players who win a scholarship have a 1 in 25,000 chance of going pro,and the same with baseball. The parents of the girls on the track team feel their kids are being robbed by this, but a scholarship needs to be directed at something that will provide a career beyond and 8 to 10 year (max)athletic plan.Learn something meaningful and lasting.
ReplyDeleteNo more scholarships for athletics. As 9:11 AM has pointed out, athletic scholarships are a serious waste of resources.
ReplyDeleteThey let Serena Williams play tennis... and "it" is a male, born a male and raised as a women... You can see her early training videos, clearly a boy playing tennis...
ReplyDeleteWow, I've always wondered about "her"
DeletePure bullshite! You think all the women the defeated, all the coaches, all the officials wouldn't have said something? There is no way on earth she was born a man. You are just unable to admit that a black woman is the best in the world. You are like Adolf when Jesse won the Olympics in Berlin.
DeleteShe is certainly NOT the best, she can't even get to 22, so your argument is futile, Graff is is still the best
DeleteSorry 911. You missed the whole point. Re read 902s comment. The so called Trans gender movement and gay rights is creating chaos and havoc. It will not end well.
ReplyDeleteSo I guess gay Olympics is next. I shudder to think of the various forms of competition.
ReplyDeleteMe too!
Delete'He' is identifying as a female to get scholarships that he wouldn't be able to get as a male.
ReplyDeleteI agree with other posts; scholarships for sports should go away. Scholarship for academic achievements should be the only scholarships available (and I sometimes question those!).
Just normal stuff in Obama's world.
ReplyDeleteI don't see a problems with it. I feel like even if there was a girl on the team that was better at such track/field events parents would be upset about that too. The thing about being transgendered most take hormone blocking agents so even though born a "male" the testosterone is blocked and estrogen is being taken. Yes boys and girls are built differently.....there is a bigger picture to it rather than just bashing a child for being good at a sport.
ReplyDeleteAren't transgender people disabled? Shouldn't they be running in a special category?
ReplyDeleteLa, La, Layola....
ReplyDeleteWhy not just have co-ed track and cross country teams, then there's no dispute? Or better yet, quit pandering to transgender. This is alike the new buzz word in our society's codex.
ReplyDeleteEw!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIf they have Gay Olympics, Jim I. will be there!

ReplyDeleteYou are right on the target.
Serena Williams is a man.
Ditto for Michael Obama.
U must like transgendered men if you think Serena Wiliams is a man. Lol. That "lady" formerly running in the republican primary look more of a man. To quote the Don, "look at that face"...

ReplyDeleteIt needs an Adams-Apple-ectomy if it wants to participate with the girlies.
ReplyDeleteYes, that is intended to be insulting. It is intended to ridicule both the weirdo and the adults that allow and encourage this sad behavior.
This is how we as a society modify bad bahavior. These crackpot attention freaks need to be shamed and shunned so the behavior is not accepted.
It's called holding the line against perversion and mainstream mental illness in our neighborhoods and communities.
7:57 your "best" just got it handed to her in France.
ReplyDeleteI think there should be an Open category where male and female can compete together. Better yet, eliminate gender specific sports entirely!
All sports participation should be based on competency and competitiveness. No more men's and women's tennis tours, soccer, basketball, golf. Then the women's libbers will complain... Tough crap.
It's a mental illness ,They really make the case for private schooling.
