  1. What do you suggest the penalties for traffic violations be if fine are not acceptable? tow your car? arrest? etc.

    1. I suggest no breaking the law twofold in order to enforce laws or be a government thug who leans on people for money.

    2. Ok......so no speed laws? No traffic laws? Just let people drive around drunk and high? Driving recklessly? How would we apprehend those who violate the laws and positively identify them so that they can be held accountable within the system established by the constitution? Let's hear some real ideas. No non-sense. Real viable ideas coming from sensible thoughts.

  2. If it was truly about safety - it would be points only - some number of points in a given time frame and you lose your license for a year....

  3. At one time there were states that enforced driving laws very effectively: cause an accident your driving privilege was suspended for six months; driving during suspension or second accident - ever - one year suspension; repeat of #2, permanent suspension. These were all administrative functions of the MVA, not legal actions. Infractions from that point on started accruing jail time, but then you got a right to a court hearing.

  4. So, if you don't exceed the speed limit, you don't get fined.
And if you don't swear, your kids don't tell you to put a quarter in the swear jar.

  7. Americans really need to read the US Constitution (including the cops).

The US Constitution established: Contract Law, Admiralty Law, and Common Law.

The founders rebelled against and fought a war over STATUTORY LAW.

Statutory law is un-American. We do not abide by dictates from our government. The government serves us, not the other way around.

If a person harms another person or damages property then one might expect the person to be prosecuted under Common Law.

However, the idea of enforcing "laws" wherein nobody was harmed and no property was damaged is idiocy. The cops need to come help when we need their help. The are public servants. If someone harms another person or damages a person's property then we will let the cops know that we require their assistance.

Otherwise, eat your donuts and leave the People alone!

  8. The People will allow cops to abuse them until the People have had enough. Then, watch out!

  9. I for one would not like living in a society without law enforcement officers. Actually probably wouldn't live for long without peace officers.

Thank you, both men and women for serving me in what most on here don't have the guts to do.

  11. 1:54 you are a clown, cops only want to make money for the state to perpetuate their careers...

Cops are never around when you need them, it is that simple... And AGAIN I WILL STATE FOR THE RECORD because you are too stupid to understand...

A MD STATE TROOPER HIMSELF TOLD ME TO MY FACE PERSONALLY, that cops only want to do traffic stops, and drug bust, to better their careers and because I guess the paper work is easier... NOTHING ELSE, this is while the cop is filling out a report of someone breaking into a home and not only stealing anything, but guns for that matter... I thought MD went after people who use guns, or steal gun, clearly the MD trooper says other wise...

SO TELL ME WHY I NEED A POLICE MAN, when they won't even help??????

I can't wait until civil unrest comes, while you pry for that so called cop to come, you will see what us the people who live in reality see, and then for you it will be to late...

Remember cops always get to the crime scene before the crime!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  14. If they want to write tickets so be it. What irks me is the aggressive driving when they aren't responding to a call for service. Speeding, tailgating and cutting people off just because they can is a reckless abuse of authority.

I don't see it as much with the city cops, but the county and state are balls to the wall just going to WAWA.

  15. Many of us are tired of cops. We don't like their illegal driving or their pompous attitudes.

I have never received a traffic ticket because I obey all of the laws. But I still dislike all cops and believe they pull people over for the money. That is not a job to be proud.

cops are people with little hands, and you know what they say about people with little hands. note I didn't say men.

  17. The only reason I would ever need a cop is because laws and regulations say I do.
If these didn't exist., then I'd never need a cop.

  18. Booooooooooooooo ! Lets just throw all cops in one basket. You people amaze me it is like all Bloggers are the same or teachers etc. It just does not fit the bill. I remember when the Sheriff's Office was not so much of a traffic oriented agency. That is what you get when you elect a Trooper. The money from ALL traffic fines goes into the state coffer. The city and county see very little if any of that money. Police drive more then commercial truck drivers. Truck drivers drive eight then off for eight cops are driving ten and twelve hours a day. Give it a rest. You Ohbamanites and your hatred of the law is sickening. I wish every cop would call out sick for a week watch what would happen. Stop being such bigots.

  19. Does anyone on this forum have any idea where the money from state traffic tickets goes? If you don't then maybe you should take the trouble to find out before making any rash statements.
