A Viewer Writes: Dunkin Donuts on Nanticoke Rd

"I don't understand why the staff at this Dunkin Donuts would find it appropriate to take bets on whether my wife was "fat or skinny" after she placed an order for myself, herself, and my two children. My wife could clearly hear their comments since her windows were down in the car. The two employees were described as a young man with light hair, and a young girl with brown hair working at the 1200 Nanticoke Rd. Salisbury, Md 21801 on Sunday April 17, 2016 at 5:15pm. I am appalled at the lack of discretion and civility your staff extrudes. I plan on contacting a local media source to show Salisbury, Md which Dunkin Donuts employs people lacking common sense. I look forward to your response. Thank you. "

  1. That location has been ridiculous since it opened. The attitudes are horrible, the wait time is long, and the 3 times I've been there the order has never come out right.

  2. That is disgraceful. You need to call corporate.

    1. For 1 maybe it wasn't about getting up earlier, just maybe they really enjoy DD coffee. For 2 it isn't about bowing down to anyone it's about just common decency. People raised with morals, respect and common sense wouldn't talk about someone like that. If the.employees don't like their job and don't want to serve the customers they should find a job not involving customer service. Your comment makes me wonder if you are one of said employees.

    2. I agree. And according to the person submitting this, the time was 5:15 pm when it took place, so it's not about getting up earlier. Regardless of the time that this took place, seems to me the time has come for those employees to move on to other paths, where they might have something to offer, other than immaturity.

  4. never fired the guy that dripped his nose sweat into my coffee. i informed the manager and was told that it wouldn't happen again, but i refuse to get anything from them until he is gone.

  5. So what's the answer? You brought it up.

  6. Not saying they were right but as always people post anonymously. Be a man and a true supportive husband and stop being a wimp. You should have parked the car and walked straight in and confroned them or spoken to the manager.

  7. I was in super pet the other night with the whole family and all the kids working there were huddled around the fish talking and there was one employee who kept saying the f word so I told him to stop and he kept saying it. I asked him his name he says it was Brad but who really knows if he was telling the truth so I called the next day and complained. I will never go back in there again.

  8. The younger generation have a total lack of respect (not all). I see it everywhere I go. I am so sorry your wife had to experience that kind of rudeness.

  12. You need to look up the definition of "extrudes" before you embarrass yourself by sending this letter to corporate.

  14. I would like to say that the employees who work at the Dunkin' Donuts on 13 (next to Taco Bell) are so sweet and pleasant. Perhaps the employees on Nanticoke Road could take a few lessons from them.

I've never had any bad service from them, and have always been treated with courtesy and respect.

  17. Your skin is too thin. And how did this hurt your wife? If she is thin and hot, the joke is on the employees, not your wife. If she is pleasingly plump and their comments bothered her, lose weight.

Stop this fabricated outrage BS!! It is destroying this country.

  18. If it were me..i would march my big a in there and snatch thise scrawny brats up. Much better feeling than crying about it.

  20. 7:40 Not true! I am a "skinny chick" and it makes me sick when I hear people make fat jokes about women or men. How dare anyone make someone feel bad about their appearance. It is such a cruel thing and shows a complete lack of character. For those of you saying they should lose weight maybe you should change the thing about YOU that needs work.

  24. These are the same workers who feel like they deserve $15.00 per hour. They really need a class on human compassion. Parents TEACH your children RESPECT!!!!

  25. DD has always been crazy fast. They talk fast and after each thing you order they will that be it? Will that be it? I feel like its more of a race and always w a smile. This is great for coffee but not w food. Food orders are often cold or wrong. Seems fixable, overall the place is clean and they are a good staff.

Could not disagree with you more. NO ONE can make you feel bad. You make yourself feel bad. You are stupid to allow others to control you. Are you a puppet or marionette? You are when you allow others to control your emotions/response.

I will say it again, lose weight if it bothers you.

  27. Dunkin' Donuts will now have a nationwide day of sensitivity training for all employees. And a free donut for everybody to apologize.

  28. It might be because those that are supposedly "serving" in city government are ultimately just serving themselves

  29. The people that work at this location are miserable souls. They are rude and act like you are bothering them when you pull up to place your order. Shut the place down or hire decent people - hate it and don't go there anymore!

I think the use of Extrude is correct, if you look at the context of the sentence it makes complete sense. The Dunkin employees are forcing, expelling, and thrusting their lack of discretion and civility. It's a powerful word. It's a shame you don't understand the common English language.

  37. NO ONE in the customer service field should be discussing a customer's ANYTHING except their order. Had these employees negatively discussed your spouse's or child's gender, RACE, religion, or sexual orientation this community would have them hanging from the nearest tree. So why are you backing up their ASSitudes by making snide comments yourselves? I'd have their jobs if I had to go all the way to corporate to do it.

    ReplyDelete
  38. You are so right, anyone that has any experience in customer service knows coments like that are very unprofessional. But then again I used to work with the Store Manager they have now. She is a piece of work, severe lack of integrity. Dunkin Donuts should have done a better job checking her back ground.

  42. I've come to expect a messed up order from a drive thru. What can we honestly expect from grown folks who work in these places? It's obvious they aren't educated. Or they'd have better jobs. Look at some of them. This location especially. 40+ yr old women with tattoos ,stains on their clothes and hygiene that has eluded her for a week. That's just one employee there. Only DD worth a damn is by Sam's club.

  44. There is a young girl that works there, I believe part time now.. I believe her name is Hayley, she is a very sweet, kind girl! If I'm not mistaken she's only there Saturdays now! Go see her, she will make up for the other ones that can't do there job right! You can tell she cares about hey job and the people!

  45. Sir why be insulted by turds who barely make minium wage pouring coffee for a living. I for one do love my donuts but they are stale half the time at that store. I drive up by Sams club ot 13 south. That Nanticoke store is just not right. Go else where and grow some stones. You should have shoved a chocolate frosted up the kids nose.
