A Command center has been set up in the Best Buy parking lot.
Dispatch stated they do have a picture of this child and we have contacted the WCSO to get the picture but we have not received anything as of yet.
The child was spotted at 6:48pm on video at Target
They are now saying it was not a positive id from the Target video.

ReplyDeleteWhy was there no Amber Alert??

DeleteDifferent circumstances for an amber alert that this case dosent meet
DeleteI hope they find him. This is the first time I've heard of msp helicopter out searching for child in salisbury.when kids missing from west side of Salisbury go missing msp helicopter not out looking for them .
ReplyDeleteOh stfu
DeleteYes please shut up. It's like 0 degrees outside. Please don't do this.
DeleteThis is a special needs child..... Not a special wants child!
DeleteGREAT...no 10 oclock local news unless you speak spanish. Way below freezing and no Amber alert.
ReplyDeleteThere have been 3 attempted abductions in Delaware this past week.
ReplyDeleteHeard chopper flying above my house on Williams mill pond rd. Pray for his safe return
ReplyDelete10:02 It is well below freezing and wind chill in single numbers...give it a rest.
ReplyDeleteIf it were your child out there would you want them to "Give It A Rest".
Delete10:02 seriously? It isn't the time for ignorance.
ReplyDeleteAre they asking for people to search???
ReplyDeleteI think I may have seen this child between 5:30 - 5:45 walking through the Penske auto place on Dickerson rd behind the Maryland State Police Barracks. He/She was walking towards the Commons Shopping center.
ReplyDelete10:24
ReplyDeletePlease call the WCSO and let them know this information. Their number is 410 548-4891
something is up because there was mention of a command post at best buy
ReplyDeleteNOTHING ON WBOC
ReplyDeletethere is also something going on in the surrounding area of truitt st. for the last 2 hours there have been what sounds like gun fire. first it was a shot here and there, then it was 12+ shots in succession. cops are saying it was a transformer but I have never know a transformer to do that. they received 14+ calls from surrounding residents about the alleged shots fired.
ReplyDeleteGot an automated phone call about his a 8:38 pm. Nothing on any local news outlets, or SCSO website or facebook page. Have seen helicopters. Why no earlier notification. In this cold this could be very serious for the child. Is there any update?
ReplyDeleteHas Delmarva Search and Rescue been activated?
ReplyDeleteHe was in target at 8:48, they have it on video
ReplyDelete10:02 really are you serious?that's just pure ignorance and the problem with the world today
ReplyDeletePraying that the child will be found safe and returned home tonight.
ReplyDeletePraying for him to be found safe and sound.
ReplyDelete10:31
ReplyDeleteI have checked all over the place to find a picture. I was in Salisbury today about 7pm. Without a picture I won't know if I saw him or not. Why hasn't a picture been released somewhere. I saw a friend on facebook posted they got a phone call about it. I did not because I don't live in that area but there are thousands of people that do not live in that area but they were in that area all day long. Put the information out there so people can help find this child. It is too cold for anyone to be out in this weather. What is the sense in having social media accounts if they don't use it to help find a child. Absurd!
It was 6:48 he was seen at Target on this website not 8:48. I got an automated call at 8:38 p.m. also. Prayers for this child and his family. I pray he is safe and warm somewhere.
ReplyDeletePlease update as you can...not going to be getting any sleep tonight. Praying and willing to bundle up and help search if needed.
ReplyDeleteIf there is a helicopter in the air and a command center set up it would seem that it would have been a good idea to give complete information to the new stations. They are still in the dark apparently.
ReplyDelete10:47 not sure what you are talking about but on the scanner @ around 10:30 they said they had him on vid @ 8:48 leaving target. But sure, what ever you said.
ReplyDelete11:01
ReplyDeleteThey said 18:48. They always use military time. I almost posted 8:48 when I updated the post.
They just mentioned his name( Sean Bear) not sure if correct spelling and they showed a pic of him on WBOC news at 11:00 pm.....curly blond hair...
ReplyDeleteSo sad I passed this little boy walking on dagsboro road and he looked as if he was just taking a walk . but me and my husband both said that it's crazy a little boy walking on this road freezing cold. Wish I would have followed my gut instincts and stopped !
ReplyDelete10:57
ReplyDeleteThe helicopter had to refuel. I'm not sure if they were coming back to help after refueling or not.
10:54
I have updated as much as I can. Right now the scanners are are quiet. I'm not sure what that means.
PHoto on WBOC. Small framed young man with light colored curly hair.
ReplyDeleteI pray this young man sees his photo on a friends television and calls to tell someone he is safe.
ReplyDeleteWhy is there no amber alert? I've been riding through the north end shopping centers and seen command center at best buy and nrp at Walmart.
ReplyDeleteWish we knew if they were letting people look for him
ReplyDeleteDear God I lift up this family to you!!
ReplyDeleteAmber alert is to notify all phones in the area to be on the look out just like for missing elderly.
ReplyDeleteI work @ Delmar Elementary school sure hope they find him safe
ReplyDelete11:37. Amber is for children. Silver alert is for elderly.
ReplyDelete11:37 Amber alert was named after a child named Amber...it is a child alert. A Gold alert is for elderly.
ReplyDeleteI just wonder why we can list closings for snow but we can't run a notice for a missing child. That's just CRAZY.
ReplyDeleteThere needs to be a better line of communication between the police and the media in special situations when time is of the essence.
ReplyDeleteJust got a call about this on my home phone and I live in Willards! A phone ringing at 12:30 at night scared me to death. I sure hope they find him. Does anyone know if they are asking for people to come and help? It looks like the Sheriff's office would give us some information instead of leaving us in the dark about this.
ReplyDeleteJoe any idea if they are asking for volunteers? Have 4 of us waiting to hear something. We can be there in 15 minutes. Sitting here I feel absolutely useless.
ReplyDeleteMy husband went to the command post a little after midnight to see if he could help. They told him he could drive around and look for him. They don't appear to be search parties with volunteers.
DeleteGold alert can be anyone law enforcement chooses.
ReplyDeleteShannon we have gotten nothing from the Sheiff's department. You can call them to see if they are looking for help searching for this child. Let us know what you find out. Thanks
ReplyDeleteHow many more times does this child have to run away before the authorities do their damn job and investigate... This is twice within a week and many times before. He clearly needs help... Someone please open their eyes and help. This baby.... God bless him. I hope he is safe and warm and found really soon....
ReplyDeleteI saw nothing on the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office Facebook page. How pathetic of Mike Lewis and his so called "command staff." I mean Mike Lewis' OVER PAID employees. Can you believe Bob Culver has given the "command staff" pay raises. what a joke he has turned out to be.
ReplyDeleteAnd full pay and benefits when they hurt themselves and claim it happened at work. Or to fat and have a heart attack at work. Not to mention whatever they just agreed on less than a year after the official start of the agreement. When two years minimum is the rule before renegotiating. How much more corruption are the sheriffs getting away with? Half assed cops with top notch pay and benefits. Part time Sheriff with full time camera exposure. And the world's biggest organized crime syndicate F.O.P and the best criminal possible as their president gouging Wicomico!
DeleteThey probably don't want search parties because too much fresh scent would mess up the dogs ability to track him.
ReplyDeleteDog couldn't even track him in the store where he was hiding, time for some 're training woooooof
DeleteWhat? How dumb are you? OK ok .... So how would a dog track a perp in say the mall? Or in an amusement park? I swear... Must be a cop. That is the type of idiotic response they would use if we had tracking dogs here to find all the criminals that get away on foot instead of dope dogs.
DeleteHas the child been found???
ReplyDelete5:50 a.m. Any word please?
ReplyDeletejust heard on scanner a employee of target has found him
ReplyDeleteGood morning, they just found the kid outside target, calling his grandmother now and taking him to the sheriff's office...
ReplyDeleteJoe....please let us know what you know. I went to bed and was awaken by a robo call from the Sheriffs office after midnight. First light and no news? Do they need volunteers?
ReplyDeleteI know it's Sunday, but could you please pin this at the top? Something is fishy about this. You have a community that has proven its willingness to help in searching for a missing child and the silence from authorities and media is deafening.
ReplyDeleteJoe...please put this at the top of the page ...at least until we know what has happened to this little boy. Please.
ReplyDeleteThere are very specific criteria for the Amber Alert system. From what I understand, he does or did not fit it.
ReplyDeleteFound alive and hiding in Target overnight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteNOW....get this child some help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sheriffs office said he has been found safe.
ReplyDeleteHe was found
ReplyDeleteThe WCSO have really let the public down on this one. They never posted a picture and people wanted to help search for him. Nothing at all posted on their facebook page or twitter account. Are those accounts (facebook and twitter) ONLY used when they want to pat their self on the backs? More look at me look at me. Look what we did. People get freaked out when a helicopter is flying above their house. At least alert people as to WHY. Either......lock your doors or be on the look out for a child.
ReplyDeleteThank sheriff Lewis.
Delete12:26 you clearly do not know how k-9's operate or track.
ReplyDelete2:41... Correct. But the people may have an idea if we had a k9 that tracked ! All we have is dope dogs! And deputies to scared to give chase to a perp without a dog from other counties arriving first. I demand for the county to buy a tracking dog instead of another dope dog who is used on the roads catching more buyers than dealers. We all know how many people escape the guts, cowardness and laziness of our deputies! SPD as well! When a child is missing we call organizations to help. Other counties and take their resources from them! No money Mike? Start with pawning your $900 motorcycle leather! Or returning part of your salary your hardly here to earn. Fire your worthless cry baby deputies who demand and drain more and more from the county than give to it with solid work!
DeleteNot true SPD dog is also a tracker why wasn't the dog allowed to track inside the store when people seen him in the area? Common sense is he is inside out of the COLD ?
DeleteNow that Mr.Joe allows and shares recipes, who has a recipe for Humble Pie for those who let this poor child down. So many people were ready and willing to go out in the cold and look for this child and were turned away. Some actually DID get in their vehicles and drive around and look for him. Yes, the situation was not handled very well and we can blame the Law Officers, the person taking care of him, employees at Target and even the dog who did not sniff him out. Thank God the boy was found and now is the time to stop blaming all who may have been involved and Pray that this child gets the attention that he needs that does NOT involve running away again.
ReplyDeleteWell trained tracking dogs are available through Delmarva Search and Rescue. Local law enforcement knows this and can activate that team any time theyre needed.
ReplyDelete02/14/16 at 4:08 pm-hate the sheriff all you want, I could not care less, but name one time that either a deputy, or SPD officer, were too frightened to act, because of a lack of a K9. Do you have proof, example of a particular incident, or just more of the same rhetoric?
ReplyDeleteglad the lil boy was found safe.
