With Federal Grants, City Schools Plan Support For Students Affected By Unrest

Baltimore City schools officials on Tuesday announced $300,000 in federal grants to help students affected by the city's spring unrest.

The grants will allow five city schools to add a part-time social worker focused on helping students and staff. The school district will also provide professional development for staff at all schools.

The schools receiving the additional services are Frederick Douglass High School, Gilmor Elementary School, Matthew A. Henson Elementary School, William Pinderhughes Elementary/Middle School, and Harlem Park Elementary/Middle School.
