Hey Kids, Now Is A Perfect Time To Make Big Bucks

With two to three inches of snow now on the ground in Salisbury, and this snow expected to stay through the week and more on the way late in the week, there's a golden opportunity for industrious kids (and others) to get out with a snow shovel and clear sidewalks for a price.

 The question is, how much should they charge for an average sidewalk and front walk? 

The snow is fairly light now and not packed down, meaning that an average sidewalk (less than 100 feet) and front walk (about 40 feet), could be done inside of half an hour.

Salisbury's snow removal regulations call for the snow to be removed from public walks within 24 hours of the last snowfall.

    When we were kids a snowfall meant some ready cash. We could each make $100 in a day, and it usually included a cup of hot chocolate from many of the customers.

    Kids these days can't get away from the video game to go outside, let alone shovel a sidewalk.

    Does the snow have to be removed from city sidewalks if it is only 1" deep?

    2:56 $10 for 1/2 hours work seem a bit much - so a 10 year old would be making $20 / hr to shovel snow? Hmmmm, yea not at my house.
    I do my neighbors for free, ya know, love thy neighbor kinda stuff.

    Hope people are checking on their elderly friends, families and neighbors. They can't move about as easily in the snow as the young whipper snappers.
