‘Seriously?’ Michigan Woman Can’t Believe What the Law Forced Cops to Do to Her Over a $10 Dog License

The misdemeanor charges against a Michigan woman were dropped this week, but the fact that she was arrested and faced a criminal charge for not renewing a $10 dog license has some scratching their heads.

Becky Rehr received several warnings from Kalamazoo county’s animal control office about her failure to renew her 11-year-old dog’s license and was told that if she didn’t do so by May 28, a warrant would be issued for her arrest, the Kalamazoo Gazette reported.

Almost a month later, Rehr stopped by the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office, after receiving her arrest warrant, to show she had renewed her license on June 18. Instead of just presenting her receipt and continuing on her way with her 14-year-old daughter in the car, Rehr was arrested, fingerprinted and placed in a holding cell for several hours before she was released on $100 bond.

Man rips Confederate flag off semi truck — in middle of moving traffic

Some people are so whipped up over the Confederate flag — and eager to silence the free speech of others — they’re willing to be run over by moving vehicles to do it.

Video captures a man running up to a semi in slow-moving traffic on the highway to rip off a Confederate flag from the truck’s tailgate.

The Grio, a black news website, grabbed the video from Twitter and posted it, adding James Brown’s “The Payback.”

Arizona Paper Says Border Fence Is Too High For Mexicans To Safely Jump

A mainstream Arizona newspaper is decrying the small section of the Arizona-Mexico border that has a 14-foot-high primary fence because it is too high for illegal immigrants to safely cross. The article, “Border Fence Jumpers Breaking Bones,” includes the claim that sections of the border with a 14-foot-high fence are “as tall as a two or three-story house” and tells the stories of several women who broke bones and were treated extensively to healthcare and surgeries at the expense of U.S. taxpayers. The writer never mentions any lives directly lost as a result of there not being a border fence in most sections, such as when Mexican nationals crossed into the U.S. and murdered father and husband Robert Rosas, a U.S. Border Patrol agent.

The article in question was written by Perla Trevizo for the Arizona Daily Star. In the excerpt below, note the section’s subtitle and the casual mention that the foreign woman had been deported multiple times prior:

Scott Walker Files Papers To Run For President

Gov. Scott Walker is making it official that he is running for president — sort of.

On a day that he greeted President Barack Obama in La Crosse and GOP lawmakers finally made progress on the state's stalled budget, Wisconsin's Republican governor filed papers with the Federal Election Commission "after hearing from countless Americans" during his testing the waters stage, an aide said.

"While I have not yet announced whether I will be a candidate for President of the United States, I have received contributions of more than $5,000 within the last 15 days," Walker wrote in a Thursday letter to the FEC. "Should I formally announce, I will seek the Republican nomination for the office of President of the United States in the 2016 election."

With or without a formal announcement, Walker now essentially meets the definition of a candidate under the FEC, which states in part that an individual becomes a candidate for federal office if they have received contributions totaling more than $5,000.

Along with his letter to the FEC, the governor filed a "statement of organization" for a committee named Scott Walker Inc., which listed its address as a P.O. box in Middleton. Kate Lind, who has previously served as treasurer for Walker's gubernatorial campaign, is listed as the treasurer in the FEC filing.

Walker is set to make his formal announcement in Waukesha on July 13, a date first reported by Daniel Bice of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Confederate Flag, Democrat Donkey & Islamic Crescent

Calls to ban the Confederate Flag due to its association with slavery may lead to calls to ban the Donkey symbol of the Democrat Party and the Islamic Crescent, as those institutions had also been involved in the enslavement of Africans.

Prior to the Civil War there were two major political parties in the United States:

Democrats, who favored freedom of choice to own slaves; and

Whigs, who tried to be a big tent party to stem the loss of members to the Know-Nothing Party.

On February 28, 1854, in Ripon, Wisconsin, anti-slavery activists met for the first time, then held their first State Convention in Jackson, Michigan on JULY 6, 1854.

This new political party took a stand against slavery.

Hogan Administration Kicks Off YouthWorks Summer Internship Program

ANNAPOLIS, MD - Lt. Governor Boyd Rutherford was joined today by Maryland State Department of Education Superintendent Dr. Lillian Lowery, Department of General Services Secretary Gil Bassette, and Department of Human Resources Secretary (DHR) Sam Malhotra to officially kick off the YouthWorks Summer Internship Program with a welcoming ceremony. Student participants, who started their internships on June 29, will participate in a five-week summer jobs program.

In June, Governor Larry Hogan announced $3.13 million in state funding to provide approximately 8,100 Baltimore City youth residents with summer job opportunities and work experience. Allocated to the Youth Works and Hire One Youth programs through the Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (DLLR), funds were provided through a combination of a DHR and DLLR grant administered to Baltimore City for youth job opportunity programs. Funding was already provided in the state budget, and private funding was secured by state and city officials.

“This is a great opportunity to provide our young people with summer jobs and set the foundation for them to become productive members of Maryland’s workforce,” said Lt. Governor Rutherford. “I commend the YouthWorks program, as well as the participating state agencies, for providing our youth with real work environments that will impact their lives for years to come.”

Floyd Mayweather stripped of WBO welterweight title for failure to comply with rules

Floyd Mayweather still hasn’t relinquished his titles as promised, but one sanctioning organization is taking matters into its own hands.

The WBO on Monday stripped the pound-for-pound king of his welterweight title for failure to comply with rules, the organization announced. Timothy Bradley will be elevated from interim champion to “regular” champ.

After Mayweather won the WBO title from Manny Pacquiao in the May 2 superfight, he failed to pay the accompanying $200,00o sanctioning fee and also was asked to vacate his titles at WBC/WBA titles at junior middleweight. If he did both those things, the WBO said, he would keep his title.

But after Mayweather indicated he would relinquish all his titles to give younger fighters a chance, the WBO sanctioned the Bradley-Jessie Vargas fight on June 27 for the vacant title. When Mayweather caught wind of the news, he became angry, and asked reporters how he could be stripped of a belt he never actually received.

New Castle, De.-The Delaware State Police have arrested a Correctional Officer with the Delaware Department of Corrections, after it was reported that he had sexual relations with an inmate.
On Friday June 19, 2015, Delaware State Police Detectives initiated an investigation after being contacted by the Department of Corrections reporting a 27 year old female inmate at the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution disclosed that she had had sexual relations with Fred Way III, a Correctional Officer assigned to the facility. The 27 year old female inmate later contacted prison officials who reported the incident to the state police.

Detectives obtained a warrant charging Fred Way III with two counts of Sexual Relations in a Detention Facility and one count of Official Misconduct. Way turned himself in to Detectives early this afternoon at Troop 2. He was arraigned at JP2 and released on $5000.00 unsecured bond.

Inquiries as to Fred Way’s employment status should be directed to the Delaware Department of Corrections.

MISS UNIVERSE: I’M NOT HYPOCRITE FOR KEEPING CROWN AFTER BLASTING DONALD TRUMP’S ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION COMMENTS

On Monday, current Miss Universe Paulina Vega claimed she is not a hypocrite for refusing to give up her crown after she blasted Donald Trump’s comments on illegal immigration. She also said that Trump has never said anything “racist” or “offensive” in her presence.

“The most comical is using the word: hypocrisy. But I think what I’m doing is the least hypocrite thing I can do by using my voice clearly,” Vega, who is also the reigning Miss Colombia, told Latina.com. “By not renouncing my crown has nothing to do with what I do or what I don’t do. I have a legally binding contract and legal relationship with the organization and it’s not so easy for me, like the artists have done, to renounce and say, ‘No. I’m not working for you anymore.'”

On Instagram last week, Vega wrote that she found “Mr. Trump’s comments unjust and hurtful. As a Colombian and as Miss Universe, I want to show my support and validate the sentiments of the Latin community.”

Here’s What Liberal Site Learned After Investigating ‘Mothers Packing Heat’

Liberal website Jezebel published an “investigation of mothers packing heat” on Monday and seemingly discovered that women gun owners “defy stereotypes of age, geographical location, race and, yes, even political affiliation.”

The “investigation” focused mostly on the Facebook group Sheepdog Mama, a community for pro-gun moms that currently has nearly 5,000 members. Instead of explosive debate on the divisive issue of guns, the page features thousands of mothers who are concerned with mostly one thing: protecting their families

Here are just a few of the personal stories cited:
Andrea Forte was at work when she received the call that her child’s school was on lockdown. Someone had threatened to “kill all of the children” in her four-year-old daughter’s classroom.

“I couldn’t protect my child… I was powerless and had to let it play out however it happened,” said Forte, a 31-year-old mother of two. The threat was unrealized, but Forte decided then to carry a firearm whenever she could. On school grounds, where firearms are prohibited, she carries a stun gun and pepper spray.

O’Reilly Explodes in Response to Woman Allegedly Killed by Illegal Immigrant Deported Multiple Times

Bill O’Reilly blasted local and federal lawmakers Monday evening over the death of a San Fransisco woman shot dead by a suspected illegal immigrant who had been deported five times.

“The mayor and city supervisors of San Francisco are directly responsible for the murder of Kate Steinle, and the Obama administration is complicit,” O’Reilly said in a talking points memo which also asserted Republican presidential contender Donald Trump’s immigration analysis was correct.

The Fox News host was reacting to news that 45-year-old Francisco Sanches, arrested for the shooting death of Kathryn Steinle, told authorities he chose San Fransisco to live in because of its status as a sanctuary city.

The Greek Bailout Explained

It is a slow day in a little Greek Village. The rain is beating down and the streets are deserted.

Times are tough, everybody is in debt, and everybody lives on credit.

On this particular day a rich German tourist is driving through the village, stops at the local hotel and lays a €100 note on the desk, telling the hotel owner he wants to inspect the rooms upstairs in order to pick one to spend the night.

The owner gives him some keys and, as soon as the visitor has walked upstairs, the hotelier grabs the €100 note and runs next door to pay his debt to the butcher.

The butcher takes the €100 note and runs down the street to repay his debt to the pig farmer.

The pig farmer takes the €100 note and heads off to pay his bill at the supplier of feed and fuel.

The guy at the Farmers' Co-op takes the €100 note and runs to pay his drinks bill at the taverna.

The publican slips the money along to the local prostitute drinking at the bar, who has also been facing hard times and has had to offer him "services" on credit.

The hooker then rushes to the hotel and pays off her room bill to the hotel owner with the €100 note.

The hotel proprietor then places the €100 note back on the counter so the rich traveller will not suspect anything.

At that moment the traveller comes down the stairs, picks up the €100 note, states that the rooms are not satisfactory, pockets the money, and leaves town.
No one produced anything.
No one earned anything.
However, the whole village is now out of debt and looking to the future with a lot more optimism.

And that is how the bailout package works!

Money Spent on Food: Lower in U.S. Than Any Other Country

Compared with other nations, consumers in the United States spend the smallest percentage of their budget on groceries. Should we be spending more for higher-quality food?

`U.S. consumers allocate a lower percentage of their annual expenditures to groceries than people in any of the other countries for which this data is tracked, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture. So how exactly does the United States stack up? In this chart of Food Spending Around the Globe, compare what percentage of the average person’s annual expenditures goes toward food consumed at home in 20 different countries around the world.

The average person in the United States spends just 6.7 percent of his or her budget on food consumed at home (not including eating out). This percentage has steadily decreased over time: In 1980, it was about 10 percent for food eaten at home, and in 1960, it was about 15 percent.

Air Clinton RICO Evidence In Court, Watchdog Demands

'Multiple acts of racketeering activity for bribery, money laundering, obstruction of justice'

A well-known Washington watchdog who has sued the Clinton Foundation and Bill and Hillary Clinton under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act for allegedly running a criminal enterprise is telling a federal court it would be wrong to dismiss the case without even looking at the evidence.

Larry Klayman of Freedom Watch brought the complaint and now has filed an opposition to the defendants’ motion to dismiss.

A federal court in Florida already has scheduled a trial for early next year.

“This is a classic RICO lawsuit,” Klayman argues in his newest filing, “Indeed … few people – if any – can even attempt to refute the hard evidence that Bill and Hillary Clinton and their foundation have over a 10-year history of actually selling government access and influence in exchange for hard cash to fill their coffers and the coffers of their foundation, which not coincidentally, as pled, does not operate as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization but instead operates as defendants Bill and Hillary Clinton’s own alter-ego in furthering their criminal enterprise.”

He said the case is about much more than access to hidden documents, which he is seeking.

Back in 2000, the CIA made 8 predictions on what life would be like in 2015

Back in 2000, just before George W. Bush became president, the CIA published a 70-page report on what the world would be like in 2015.

We're now halfway through the year and it turns out that several of these predictions were on the money.

Here's a rundown of some of the predictions, according to a December 2000 story from The Telegraph.

"International affairs are increasingly determined by large and powerful organizations rather than governments." Verdict: True, such as the rise of the Islamic State. On the other hand, there is also a new cadre of actors that cross the line between private actors and the state such as the Chinese hackers suspected of stealing information about millions of U.S. government employees, and the possibly-not-North Korean hackers who took down Sony last year.

"Between now and 2015 terrorist tactics will become increasingly sophisticated and designed to achieve mass casualties." Verdict: Definitely true. Sadly, this prediction became true quickly, on September 11, 2001.

Maryland kicks off 'first meaningful life-skills internship'

A group of state agencies kicked off their part in Baltimore's expanded summer jobs program Monday, assembling more than 60 YouthWorks participants to hear pep talks from department leaders and Lt. Gov. Boyd Rutherford.

The launch comes after the state contributed to help the City of Baltimore meet a key goal of offering 8,000 jobs under the YouthWorks program, which offers five-week paid positions to workers ages 14 to 21. That goal, pushed by Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake in the aftermath of April's rioting, represents an increase of nearly 3,000 jobs from previous years.

It costs about $1.5 million to pay for 1,000 jobs under the program, which places workers at both public and private employers. The state put in $3.3 million this year.
