Federal Charges For The Man Accused Of Killing A U.S. Census Bureau Guard

A man accused of killing a U.S. Census Bureau guard during a crime spree in and around the Washington, D.C., area has been charged with murder and other federal offenses, prosecutors said.

Ronald Anderson was charged in a criminal complaint on Friday in the April 9 abduction, chase and gunfire that killed Lawrence Buckner.

The charges include kidnapping, murder, using and discharging a firearm during a crime of violence, and causing death by use of a firearm during a crime of violence.

The U.S. attorney's office said Anderson, 48, could face the death penalty if convicted.

Smart phones are very vulnerable to spying

Spy Agencies Are Intentionally Destroying Digital Security

Top computer and internet experts say that NSA spying breaks the functionality of our computers and of the Internet. It reduces functionality and reduces security by – for example – creating backdoors that malicious hackers can get through.

Remember, American and British spy agencies have intentionally weakened security for many decades. And it’s getting worse and worse. For example, they plan to use automated programs to infect millions of computers.

We documented in 2013 that smart phones are very vulnerable to spying:

Martin O'Malley heads to Hollywood with 2016 in mind

Martin O'Malley, presidential candidate to the stars?

The former Maryland governor has been toying with the idea of running for the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination — and will turn his efforts to the City of Angels next week.

O'Malley will be the guest of honor at a reception in Los Angeles April 23, at a pricey French restaurant just south of Hollywood, according to an invitation obtained by the Washington Examiner.

The invite-only reception is sponsored by his political action committee, O' Say Can You See PAC. His PAC did not reveal any fundraising numbers Tuesday, but rather indicated it will wait until the next Federal Elections Commission filing deadline in July.

And it may have a lot of money to show by the time July arrives.

Obama Verifies That He Was Mentored by Communist Frank Marshall Davis

Barack Obama sought the Democratic nomination for President in order to hinder America’s status as the world’s lone superpower.

Our racial past constantly drives Obama’s political ambition for revenge, and continuously threatens our freedoms today.

Now we know why beyond any reasonable doubt.

In news that shouldn’t be surprising to any American this deep into Obama’s second term, we have learned for certain that 44 is a communist sympathizer.

In 2008, it was known that Obama had a connection to Frank Marshall Davis, but the msm never pressed the President on how close that relationship truly was. I mean, liberals let his ties to Rev. Jeremiah Wright slide, so why not this too?

California continuing its quest to brand all men as rapists

Last year California passed a law that defined nearly all sex on college campuses as rape unless proven otherwise. Now, in addition to making it easier to label someone a rapist for just about every sexual encounter, state legislators want to go further to ensure that accused students' lives are severely disrupted — if not ruined — by introducing mandatory minimums for their punishment.

The mandatory minimum would be a suspension of two years for students found responsible for sexual assault. But bear in mind that the burden of proof already lies with the accused, thanks to California's "yes means yes" law. Accusers do not have to provide any proof that that they failed to give consent or were unable to consent due to incapacitation, and now a guilty finding would carry a minimum punishment under this new proposal.

Bill aims to end predatory towing in Montgomery County

ROCKVILLE, Md. — Montgomery County Council member Roger Berliner has introduced a bill to end predatory towing practices, which he says make up the top consumer complaint among residents.

“These companies employ spotters to keep an eye on you and where you go. The spotter calls the towing company and tells them, ‘Get ‘em,’ and it happens in two or three minutes after you park your car,” says Berliner. “ It drives people crazy – people in downcounty, upcounty, midcounty and east county.”

The bill would outlaw these spotters, which Berliner calls an “unscrupulous business practice.” His bill also would require photographic evidence of a violation that necessitated the tow.

Obama's illegal coal regulations must be stopped

In June of last year, the Obama Administration's EPA launched an aggressive assault against states' rightful powers by proposing federal carbon regulations that require states to reduce carbon dioxide emission by a staggering 30 percent in just 15 years. Since announcing the proposed regulation, the Administration's EPA has employed unprecedented, threatening tactics designed to bully states into compliance, irrespective of the feasibility or legality of its proposal. States that don't comply face the potential of losing regulatory control on energy matters to the federal government.

On April 16, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit will hear arguments on two separate but related lawsuits filed by numerous states and energy companies in the wake of last June's proposed rule. The lawsuits contend that the rule and EPA's compliance threats are illegal.

This case is vitally important to the nation. If the EPA's proposed rule is permitted to go forward, it will cause great harm to the states and their citizens. The agency's threats to finalize the plan this summer already have had a dampening effect on states, the energy industry, and its employees.

Hillary Clinton is the Sarah Palin of the Left

One is a grandmother beloved by members of her party in an almost worshipful way, who charges six figures for speeches and has the media drooling to report everything she says.

The other is Sarah Palin.

Whenever a conservative woman enters politics and gains any kind of traction, the liberal media inevitably calls her "The Sarah Palin of ____." They did it to Kelly Ayotte in New Hampshire, they did it to Joni Ernst in Iowa and just last week they did it to potential presidential candidate Carly Fiorina. The underlying premise of the articles is always that these women are as stupid as the Left's caricature of Palin.

Outwardly the claims are about Republican women who seemingly come out of nowhere and have the potential to become party rock stars. It's the rock star part that applies to Hillary Clinton. (Obviously she didn't come out of nowhere, she rode there on her husband's coattails.)

Teacher Who Had Third Graders Write Get-Well Cards To Cop Killer Mumia Abu-Jamal BLAMES LITTLE KIDS

Taxpayer-funded Orange, N.J. school teacher Marilyn Zuniga has now announced that she is really sorry that her third-grade students wrote get-well letters to cop killer and one-time death row inmate Mumia Abu-Jamal.

Zuniga is also blaming eight- and nine-year-old children for coming up with the idea to write the letters to the convicted murderer.

“On February 5th I presented a do-now that stated: ‘What is the main idea of this quote: ‘So long as one just person is silenced, there is no justice,'” Zuniga explained in a statement to the local school board obtained by Philadelphia Magazine. “This quote is by Mumia Abu-Jamal.”

More Americans Sought Unempl. Benefits Last Week

The number of Americans seeking unemployment aid rose for the second straight week yet remained at a low level that is consistent with more hiring.

Applications increased 12,000 last week to a seasonally adjusted 294,000, the Labor Department said Thursday. Despite the increase, other data suggests that the number of laid-off workers applying for benefits is still quite low.

The four-week average, a less volatile measure, ticked up 250 to 282,750, just barely above the previous week's level, which was the lowest in nearly 15 years.

With fewer Americans seeking aid, the number of people collecting benefits fell to 2.27 million, the lowest in more than 14 years. The benefit rolls have dropped because some unemployed have found jobs, while many others have used up all the benefits available.

The data provided some hope to economists that last month's sluggish hiring was a temporary slip.

"The trend...continues to impress and runs counter to the disappointment we saw in the March payrolls report," Derek Lindsey, an analyst at BNP Paribas, said in a note to clients.

Weekly applications are a proxy for layoffs. The average has fallen 11 percent in the past year, evidence that companies are cutting fewer workers and may hire more staff.

Use of former Bradley residence uncertain

LEWES — Nearly five years after Earl Bradley was imprisoned for sexually assaulting hundreds of his child patients, his presence continues to haunt the Lewes community.

One of the remaining reminders of Bradley is his former residence at 344 Savannah Road. Bethel United Methodist Church, which was given the property, wanted to turn the home into Hope House, changing a painful reminder of Bradley’s crimes into something that could provide hope for the future.

But Bradley’s presence still lingers, and church officials are left wondering what to do with the property.

When the house was donated in Feburary 2014, the church was undertaking a $2 million renovation of its existing facilities, The Rev. Earle Baker said, the first major changes to the church in 50 years. Wells Fargo bank asked the church to take the house after plans to demolish the structure and convert it to park space fell through.

“We weren’t expecting a house to be given to us,” Baker said.

Adultery Website AshleyMadison.com Seeks IPO as Business Booms

AshleyMadison.com, a dating website for cheating spouses, wants to hook up with investors by pursuing an initial public offering in London this year.

The site’s parent company, which failed with a previous IPO attempt in Canada, said on Wednesday it is looking to raise as much as $200 million to exploit booming demand for its services.

AshleyMadison had sales of $115 million last year, an almost fourfold increase on 2009, Christoph Kraemer, its head of international relations said in an interview. It makes money by charging men for credits, which they then use for introductions to women.

Avid Life Media Inc., the Toronto-based holding company that runs AshleyMadison.com along with peers Cougarlife.com and EstablishedMen.com, wants the new funds for marketing and international expansion.

AshleyMadison has 36 million members in 46 countries, Kraemer said, and claims to be the world’s second-largest paid- for Internet dating website behind Match.com.

While the U.S. accounts for about 50 percent of its business, Kraemer said “Europe is the only region where we have a real chance of doing an IPO” because of its more liberal attitude towards adultery.

“We’re no longer a niche, but it’s been difficult in North America to find the support to go public,” he added.

USA Today's Krantz: Beware Stockbrokers Throwing You a Line of Bull

Many of us manage our own investments these days rather than relying on an old-fashioned stockbroker — and for good reason.

USA Today's Matt Krantz lists several dirty secrets brokers are unlikely to reveal.

"My firm isn't much different than the rest. Full-service brokers spend incredible amounts of money marketing themselves at golf tournaments and in the media," he writes. "But the actual service provided by these firms is pretty equivalent in the eyes of consumers, indicating that they're all offering good — but not amazing — service.
"My clients aren't young — and young investors don't trust me. The average age of the clients of full-service brokerage firms is 61, according to a study by J.D. Power," Krantz notes. In addition, two-thirds of investors born before 1946 think their advisors make decisions in their best interest, compared with just 40 percent of Gen Y and Gen Z investors.
"You can easily find out if I've gotten into trouble before." The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, has a website, BrokerCheck, that allows you to check free of charge the disciplinary actions taken against brokers and their firms and to verify their professional licenses.

To be sure, if you don't have the time and expertise to manage your investments on your own, by all means seek out a financial adviser. Just make sure it's one who will be serving your best interests.

MSNBC Host Melissa Harris Perry has $70,000 Lien Placed on Her by IRS

Liberals absolutely love to cry and whine about how the rich aren’t paying their fair share in taxes and how such an atrocious act of selfishness is causing the poor to suffer, and it’s an injustice, and blah, blah, blah.

What’s hilarious is a pretty good chunk of the talking heads who drone about the redistribution of wealth do everything in the power to avoid paying taxes, and helping the poor via the welfare system.

Like MSNBC host Melissa Harris Perry for example.

Perry recently had a lien placed against her by the IRS for $70,000.

Report: Hillary Wrong, Most of Her Grandparents Not Immigrants

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton flubbed her family history Wednesday, saying that all of her grandparents had immigrated to America when public records show that just one came to the United States as a child, BuzzFeed reports.

Speaking at an event in Iowa on her first campaign swing since announcing her candidacy, she spun a tale of an all-immigrant grandparent heritage at Capital City Fruit in Norwalk.

"All my grandparents, you know, came over here, and you know my grandfather went to work in a lace mill in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and worked there until he retired at 65," Clinton said, referring to paternal grandfather Hugh Rodham Sr.

"He started there when he was a teenager and just kept going. So, I sit here and I think, well, you're talking about the second, third generation. That's me, that's you."

Clinton has previously talked about her grandmother immigrating.

But BuzzFeed reports that the former secretary of state's sole foreign-born grandparent was the senior Hugh Rodham.

"Her grandparents always spoke about the immigrant experience, and as a result she has always thought of them as immigrants," a Clinton spokesman told BuzzFeed.

"As has been correctly pointed out, while her grandfather was an immigrant, it appears that Hillary's grandmother was born shortly after her parents and siblings arrived in the U.S. in the early 1880s."

I’m Sooo Bored of Being Gay

I’ll never forget the precise moment I chose to be gay. It was the endpoint in a process of rebellion against my white middle-class parents that climaxed with me smuggling a black drug dealer into my bedroom at 3 a.m. on a school night aged 15.

They have a word for this in America. Bratty young white girls who shack up with African Americans (preferably belonging to the criminal underclass) are known as coalburners. I’d previously lost my virginity in a fivesome with two boys and two girls. But that didn’t sufficiently scandalise my mother, so I decided to up my game. At the time, bringing home impoverished ethnic minorities felt like the ultimate desecration of my well-heeled, two-ponies-and-a-pool Home Counties rearing.

All the best sex – in fact, all the best things in life – are transgressive and naughty. But there’s a problem when forbidden fruits go mainstream. When you teach yourself to be excited solely by transgressive acts, and end up only really happy when you’re breaking rules or upsetting someone, you’re at the mercy of changing fashions.

Afghan opium cultivation ‘grew 40-fold’ during US operation

Opium production in Afghanistan has “grown fortyfold” in the 13 years of US Operation Enduring Freedom, according to the head of the Russian Security Council. The intervention has “exacerbated existing problems,” rather than solved them.

“Unfortunately, the failed policy of Washington did not solve, but on the contrary exacerbated, the existing problems,” Nikolai Patrushev has said while addressing the heads of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Security Council.

At the same time, the aims of introducing foreign military to Afghanistan, including the destruction of Al-Qaeda and Taliban, were not accomplished, he added.

According to Patrushev, Afghan extremists’ organizations benefit from lax law enforcement and use their positions in northern Afghanistan to enter neighboring countries in Central Asia.

He stressed that the situation in Afghanistan is one of the crucial factors in building stability in the Central Asian region.

Clint Eastwood’s Son Revealed a Secret that Makes America Love Him Even More, Every Parent Needs To See This!

There is no handbook when it comes to kids, that’s for sure. I probably wouldn’t have messed up quite so many times, and my kids probably wouldn’t be as strong and individual as they are today. But, some parents just seem to have a knack for raising kids right – and big-time Hollywood Star Clint Eastwood is no exception to the “Doing it Right” club of parents. More from Qpolitical:

Clint Eastwood’s son is coming clean about growing up in the Hollywood royalty bloodline and what he has to say about his dad’s parenting techniques is making women everywhere swoon and men wish they were him.

Clint is unquestionably Hollywood royalty but that doesn’t mean he raised his son with a silver spoon in his mouth. The 29-year-old said his father had traditional parenting techniques and that he has had “a job since I can remember.”

“My first car was a ’91 Ford Crown Victoria that was $1,000. And I had to buy every car after that. I had to do it all,” the new heartthrob of The Longest Ride said in an interview.

Unlike most of his peers born into Hollywood royalty notorious for name-dropping and DUIs, Scott didn’t even use the famous family name until recently. He stayed clear of the limelight for most of his life under the name ‘Scott Reeves.’

“I like being under the radar. I didn’t get into this business to become famous,” he said. “I got into this business because I like acting and I want to make movies. I would be happy living the rest of my life never famous.”

Scott graduated with a degree in communications from Loyola Marymount in 2008 and Clint hasn’t given Scott an easy route to pursue his acting ambitions either.

“My dad always says, ‘Just stick around.’ Everybody thinks it’s an overnight success. But the reality is, it takes years of hard work,” the hunk said.

We ain’t Givin’ back jack: Clinton Foundation to Keep Foreign Donors

I think the most brazenly outrageous thing Hillary Clinton has ever done in her public life, more questionable than having her own private server for her emails, is to collect money from foreign countries while she’s secretary of state. Besides being plain sleazy and unseemly, it’s also a massive conflict of interest. “Oh thank you, Madam Secretary!” “No problem Mr. Ambassador. As soon as the check clears, consider it done!” See what I mean?

Wall StreetJournal the board of the Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton Foundation has decided to continue accepting donations from foreign governments, primarily from six countries, even though Hillary Clinton is running for president, a summary of the new policy to be released Thursday shows.

The rules would permit donations from Australia, Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway and the U.K.—countries that support or have supported Clinton Foundation programs on health, poverty and climate change, according to the summary.

That means other nations would be prohibited from making large donations to the foundation. But those governments would be allowed to participate in the Clinton Global Initiative, a subsidiary of the foundation where companies, nonprofit groups and government officials work on solutions to global problems.

Ministers from any government would be allowed to attend meetings and appear on panels at the group’s meetings and their governments would be allowed to pay attendance fees of $20,000.

These 15 states are getting hit hardest by foreclosures

Home foreclosures plunged in the first quarter.

According to RealtyTrac, 313,487 US homes were foreclosed on during the first quarter. That’s the lowest quarterly total since the first quarter of 2007, a 7% decline from the previous quarter, and an 8% drop from the same quarter last year.

"Some of most stubborn foreclosure cases are finally being flushed out of the foreclosure pipeline, and we would expect to see more noise in the numbers over the next few months as national foreclosure activity makes its way back to more stable patterns by the end of this year,” RealtyTrac vice president Daren Blomquist said in the data release.

Still, some states are struggling.

We drew on RealtyTrac’s report to highlight the 15 states with the highest foreclosure rates last quarter.

Note: The states are ranked by foreclosure rate, i.e., one in every 'X' homes received a foreclosure filing.

Study: Over 27% Of Student Loans Are In Default

On April 15, Tax Day, Americans have paid the federal government an estimated $1.477 trillion–a slightly higher figure than the total value of outstanding student loans.

Five days ago, the St. Louis Federal Reserve published a report titled “Student Loan Delinquency: A Big Problem Getting Worse?” The Fed determined that of the nearly $1.3 trillion in non-bankruptcy-dischargeable student loans, the delinquency rate for students in repayment is over 27 percent. With tuition at the University of California and other top schools growing faster than inflation, student loan defaults are skyrocketing.

Prior published student loan reports have stated that the “30+ days delinquency rate for all student loans increased significantly over the past 10 years—from 11 percent to slightly above 17 percent.” But most analysts believed that the 77 percent of the increase over the period from 2004 and 2010 was uniquely due to the Financial Crisis.

Many of these analysts argued that the default rate growing to only 17 percent from the 15.8 percent in 2010 demonstrated that rise in student default rates was peaking.

MULTIPLE SUSPECTS CHARGED IN 2014 CAROLINE CO. MURDER

(FEDERALSBURG, MD) – Five suspects were arrested and charged yesterday and early today in connection with the fatal shooting of a Caroline County man in November of 2014.

The first suspect is identified as Dayrius T. Garcia, 19, of Hurlock, Md. A Caroline County Grand Jury indicted Garcia on April 15, 2015 on the charges of first degree murder, second degree murder, robbery, first degree assault, second degree assault, first degree burglary, and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. State Police investigators attempted to locate Garcia early yesterday at his residence. He was later brought to the Federalsburg Police Department by his father, where a State Police homicide investigator took him into custody.

Four additional suspects are identified as Christopher L. Eley, 18, of Hurlock, William N. Willis III, 15, of Federalsburg, Elijah J. Rosetta, 17, of Hurlock, and Markeith L. Jones, 21, of Federalsburg. Willis and Rosetta are being charged as adults. After consultation with the Caroline County State’s Attorney’s Office, each of these suspects was charged by State Police with first degree murder, second degree murder, robbery, first degree assault, second degree assault, first degree burglary, and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Eley, Willis and Rosetta were arrested by State Police investigators throughout the day yesterday. Jones could not be located initially and a warrant was issued for his arrest. Members of the Maryland State Apprehension Team located and arrested Jones early this morning.

All suspects were arrested without incident. Each was taken to the Caroline County Detention Center to await an initial appearance before a court commissioner.

Ex-boxing champ Riddick Bowe says he will tweet anything for $20

He was once the double heavyweight champion, with a career that allowed him to retire from the ring with a rumoured fortune of $15million.

Now Riddick Bowe, of Maryland, has found himself tweeting happy birthday messages and adverts for insurance firms for anyone who pays him $20.

The 46-year-old recently offered to 'tweet anything' for people who credit him through PayPal, sharing the messages with his 450,000 followers.

His offer seems a far cry from the fame he enjoyed in the 1990s as the only man who could beat Evander Holyfield.

Bowe explained his plan to this thousands of followers in a post.

He said: 'I will tweet anything to anyone just paypal me $20 bowe@riddickbowe.com. Thats whats up. Bowe

And as apparent proof of his pledge a number of bizarre messages have since appeared on the former boxing champion's Twitter account.

One post read: 'I tell you all now @JakeLeeYes is twice the fighter I ever was. Thats whats up. Bowe'

Kansas bans welfare recipients from seeing movies, going swimming on government’s dime

There’s nothing fun about being on welfare, and a new Kansas law aims to keep it that way.

Republican Gov. Sam Brownback signed House Bill 2258 into law Thursday. The measure means Kansas families receiving government assistance will no longer be able to use those funds to visit swimming pools, see movies, go gambling or get tattoos on the state’s dime.

Those are just a few of the restrictions contained within the law that aims to tighten regulations on how poor families spend their government aid. It will go into effect July 1.

Fred Barnes Will Address Salisbury Prayer Breakfast

Salisbury, MD – Fred Barnes, executive editor of The Weekly Standard and nationally-recognized news commentator, will address the fifth annual Salisbury Area National Day of Prayer Breakfast, Thursday, May 7, in the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center.

Known for his sharp wit and political savvy, Barnes appears regularly on Fox News Channel. He previously co hosted “The Beltway Boys,” and was senior editor and White House correspondent for The New Republic. He has written for numerous publications including Reader's Digest, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Spectator, Washingtonian, The Public Interest, Policy Review, and The Sunday Telegraph and Sunday Times of London. He also penned Rebel in Chief, a biography of President George W. Bush, and has appeared on “Nightline,” “Meet the Press,” “Face the Nation,” “NewsHour with Jim Lehrer,” and “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.”

Barnes is a board member of the Institute on Religion and Democracy. He and his wife, Barbara, became committed Christians in 1980. “Our lives changed dramatically for the better,” he said. “I’ve enjoyed writing and television enormously, but they are secondary to family and faith in Christ.”

The Salisbury breakfast on the National Day of Prayer (NDP) is organized by a committee of community leaders co chaired by Bonnie Luna and Jack Savage. Established to revive the tradition of a regional prayer breakfast on the Lower Shore, it is ecumenical and “message centered,” followed at noon by a “prayer centered” NDP observance in front of the Government Office Building on Salisbury’s Downtown Plaza. “Our goal is to fill the Downtown Plaza with people from Delmarva and pray for our nation,” said Luna.

“We are very fortunate to have a speaker of Mr. Barnes’ caliber,” Luna continued. “This is the one anchor in the community that brings the Body of Christ together.”

Wal-Mart Wine List

Wal-Mart announced that it will begin offering customers a new discount item: Wal-Mart's own brand of wine.

The world's largest retail chain is teaming up with Ernest & Julio Gallo Winery of California to produce the wines at affordable prices in the $2 to $5 range.

Wine connoisseurs may not be inclined to put a bottle of the Wal-Mart brand into their shopping carts but, 'There is a market for inexpensive wine,' said Kathy Micken, professor of marketing at University of Arkansas, Bentonville. 'However, branding will be very important.'

Customer surveys were conducted to determine the most attractive names for the Wal-Mart wine brands and varieties.

The top surveyed names in order of popularity were:

10. Chateau Traileur Parc
9.   White Trashfindel
8.   Big Red Gulp
7.   World Championship Riesling
6.   NASCARbernet
5.   Chef Boyardeaux
4.   Peanut Noir
3.   I Can't Believe It's not Vinegar
2.   Grape Expectations
1.   Nasti Spumante

The beauty of Wal-Mart wine is that it can be served with either white meat (Possum) or red meat (Squirrel). Don't bother writing back to tell me that possum is not white meat.

Committee Seeks Extending Pets On Boardwalk Period By A Month; Police Commission Not Willing To OK This Year

OCEAN CITY – A request to extend allowing dogs on the Boardwalk a month this year was denied by the Police Commission this week due to many concerns having to be addressed in too short of time.

The Ocean City Development Corporation (OCDC) and its Boardwalk Committee recommended that the Town of Ocean City consider extending the period dogs are allowed on the Boardwalk up to the Thursday of Memorial Day weekend. The current City code allows dogs on the Boardwalk from Oct. 1 through April 30.

“We believe extending this period will increase the number of pedestrians on the Boardwalk and will not interfere with others. We see the increase in pet-friendly places competing for visitor dollars. We believe locals will appreciate this extra Boardwalk period for their pets, too,” the Boardwalk Committee recommended.

OCDC President Bob Givarz met with the Police Commission on Wednesday morning to discuss the request.

ICE DIRECTOR: AGENTS RISK ‘TERMINATION’ FOR NOT ENFORCING OBAMA’S IMMIGRATION POLICY

“There are consequences for not following the rule of the employee’s status with the agency"

During a hearing on ICE oversight on April 14, Rep. Trent Franks (R-Ariz.) referred to Obama’s statement during a town hall event in February, during which the President said there would be “consequences” for ICE agents who enforce federal immigration laws outside of his mandated enforcement priorities.

Representative Franks then asked Saldana what those consequences would be.

“The president also said, and I know this question was proffered earlier, if somebody’s working for ICE and they don’t follow this policy, there’s going to be consequences for it,” Franks explained. “Have you enforced that? I mean is there, are there consequences for not following that policy?”

Police Paychecks Depend on How Many Tickets They Write – Leaked Document

There is no money in solving murders and rape cases

While police and their supporters continue to insist that police are out there keeping our streets safe, an internal document sent from the Edmundson Mayor John Gwaltney implies otherwise. The letter, which was included with the paychecks of the town’s police officers, spells out in very plain terms their actual role in the community – extorting money for the state.

In the document obtained by ThinkProgress, the mayor is careful to point out that the town does not have quotas. He states that he only wants “good tickets” written but adds that he is still very disappointed that the Department had been extorting fewer people. Gwaltney goes on to threaten the officers’ bank accounts, stating;

“The tickets that you write do add to the revenue on which the P.D. budget is established and will directly affect pay adjustments at budget time.”

He doesn’t stop with their pay, either, the mayor then goes on to imply that the officers benefits may be in danger, should they not get their ticket production up by budget time.

Can Martin O'Malley be Hillary Clinton's progressive challenger in Iowa?

If Martin O'Malley enjoys any level of success in the 2016 presidential race, it won't be because he walked in with instant name recognition and a built-in reservoir of support.

The former Maryland governor, fresh out of office in 2014, tends to hover around the one percent mark in polls of the emerging Democratic field of candidates. It's hard to say why he is still such an unknown commodity among the public: O'Malley, one of the most liberal governors in the country, chaired the Democratic Governors' Association for two years, makes rounds on the Sunday shows, has spent months crisscrossing the country to help other Democrats get elected, and was even, to some extent, the inspiration for a character in HBO's "The Wire."

But the auditions for alternatives to Hillary Clinton in the Democratic primary are still wide open, and O'Malley is determined to get a hearing. He's out reminding Democrats that they have an unabashedly liberal choice -- with the record to back it up.

Did Any Of You Catch This?

Yesterday at 5:00 PM I was watching FOX 21 News. Channel 16 was Delmarva life, or whatever they call it.

Nevertheless, I kept noticing that Hammond would have the screen behind him saying WBOC Channel 16 and I thought to myself, I'm NOT on channel 16.

The screen shot above IS from yesterday's broadcast at the end of the show. I have to wonder how Fox News or the Fox Corporation feels about them pushing a LIBERAL station, (16) while producing Fox News?

Community Yard Sale

Lawsuit challenges air-pollution exemptions of factory chicken farms: By Ray Wallace

Other industries must disclose the toxic pollutants they emit.... Factory farms are exempt. Those exemptions began in 2008, under the Bush administration, and have remained in effect under the Obama administration.

The lawsuit challenges the legality of the environmental agency's 2008 exemptions.

-- From "Environmental groups file lawsuit over chicken farms emissions," by Bertrand M. Gutierrez, at this April 16, 2015 Winston-Salem Journal site:
__________

The suit was filed by Earthjustice on behalf of the Center for Food Safety, Environmental Integrity Project, the Humane Society of the United States, Sierra Club, and Waterkeeper Alliance....

EPA said it will “review and respond to the lawsuit.”

Delaware Law Enforcement for Special Olympics Torch Runner of the Year

2015 - Master Corporal Christopher Popp, Delaware State Police
  • Member of DSP since October 1998 (16 years)
  • Currently assigned to Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) Task Force, Troop 2
  • Father of Brendan Popp (13 years old) who is also a Special Olympics Athlete.
  • Torch Runner since 1999 as well as a volunteer, agency rep, ad solicitor, and fund raiser.
  • Has, and continues to be, a Special Olympics sports coach and/or program director since 2000 for bowling, soccer, basketball, swimming, flag football, track and field, and power lifting.
  • Currently holds the position of Sports Director for the MOT Tigers for the basketball program.
  • Started and was the program director for the Delaware Destroyers which was a community based team.  This team started out with 15 athletes and at the time of the re-organization was over 60 athletes competing in over 7 sporting events.
  • Routinely speaks at Special Olympics events to include the Spread the Word to End the Word campaign, First Giving Program, and Regional Conferences for Law Enforcement Torch Run and Special Olympics.
  • Attended LETR Regional Conferences in Buffalo NY (2006), Connecticut (2009) and participated in the Global Torch Run in NYC (2009)
  • Participates in the Truck Convoy, has gone "Over the Edge", organized a Dodgeball Team called the Wrecking Balls who have finished 1st and 2nd, 2 out of the three years involved, and Pulled a Plane.
  • Traveled to Haiti in 2014 with Special Olympics to assist with their International Program and worked with Haiti athletes coaching soccer, bocce, and track and field.

Most memorable Torch Run memory:  The first time I participated in an opening ceremony and was part of the group of law enforcement officers bringing in the Flame of Hope.

As I was waiting to bring in the Flame of Hope, I couldn’t fathom the meaning it has for the athletes and you don’t get to see or feel the anticipation they have waiting for its arrival.  But the moment it entered the auditorium I could feel the excitement and could see on the all the athletes faces how much meaning the Flame of Hope has to them.  It was an amazing feeling (brought me goose bumps) and honor to enter into that auditorium representing Special Olympics and Law Enforcement.  As I continue my journey with LETR and Special Olympics as a runner, a coach, and a father, I still feel that anticipation and excitement with what the Flame of Hope and all that it represents.

Special Olympics Start:  I got my start like most of us did.  Someone who understood the importance of Special Olympics and why we participate asked me to hand out medals at an award ceremony.  As most of us know that’s all it takes.  I was captured by the spirit of competition amongst the athletes and to see their expressions when all their hard work was awarded when I put that medal around there neck.

As the Delaware Law Enforcement for Special Olympics “Torch Runner of the Year” for 2015, Corporal Chris Popp will have the distinct honor and privilege to deliver the Flame of Hope to the Special Olympics Delaware “Athlete of the Year”, David Hill, at the Opening Ceremonies of the SODE Summer Games on Friday afternoon, June 12th at the University of Delaware, on behalf of the entire Delaware Law Enforcement community.

Gravestone of Hillary Clinton's dad toppled in Pennsylvania

The gravestone of Hillary Clinton's father has been toppled over by vandals, according to police in Pennsylvania.

The headstone on Hugh Rodham's grave was found lying in the grass at Washburn Street Cemetery, Scranton, just two days after Hillary announced she was running for President.

Local resident Paul McGloin, who has been tending the grave since Mr Rodham's funeral in 1993, believes the attack could be politically motivated.

On July 17, country singers Tim McGraw and Billy Currington will headline a fundraiser for gun control group Sandy Hook Promise in Connecticut.

Sandy Hook Promise was founded after Adam Lanza stole various firearms then carried out a heinous attack on Sandy Hook Elementary.

NBC Connecticut quoted McGraw as saying:

Out of this tragedy a group was formed that made a promise to honor the lives lost and turn it into a moment of transformation. Sandy Hook Promise teaches that we can do something to protect our children from gun violence. I want to be a part of that promise – as a father and as a friend.

McGraw’s “A Concert For Sandy Hook Promise” will also feature country singers Billy Currington and Chase Bryant.

Man wearing Army uniform accused of Stolen Valor in tense standoff

A dramatic confrontation between an alleged Army impostor and a bystander in Florida has been caught on video.

Eric Coins, who was drinking in the city of Sunrise posted the video to YouTube accusing the man of wearing the uniform to get free drinks and meet women.

The stand-off between the two men almost comes to blows as Coins tells the man: 'There are people who f****** die in that uniform.'

In the footage, a young man is seen on camera asking the alleged fake service member, a series of questions including where he did his basic and boot camp training.

The man apparently says he did his basic training in North Carolina. The young man is then heard saying basic training is conducted in Fort Benning, Georgia and not Miami.

Police dashcam video shows moment Arizona cop crashes into armed man

Shocking police dashcam footage has emerged showing an Arizona cop speeding down a road, mounting a sidewalk and smashing into an alleged armed robber in a supposed bid to capture him.

In the two videos, Mario Valencia is captured walking along a street in Marana, northwest of Tucson, carrying what appears to be a rifle. He points the loaded weapon into the air and a shot rings out.

A police officer in one of the patrol cars says: 'One round just went out. He's definitely loaded.' He then tells his colleague, Officer Michael Rapiejko, in the other vehicle: 'Stand off, the gun is loaded.'

But apparently ignoring his advice, Rapiejko overtakes the officer's car, before speeding straight toward Valencia. Seconds later, his vehicle mounts the curb and smashes into the suspect's body.
