Maryland's population is growing at a slower rate than the national average

Maryland's population inched up over the last year, but at a slower rate than the national average.

The state's population increased from 5,975,346 on July 1, 2014 to 6,006,401 as of July 1, 2015, according to U.S. Census estimates. That translates to more than 2,500 new residents per month.

The growth rate of less than 1 percent is lower than U.S. average, which also falls at below 1 percent. The country's population rose to 321.4 million as of July, up from 318.9 million a year earlier.

People are fleeing the taxes and over-regulation.
The only reason there is any increase in the population of Maryland is because of all the illegals.
