DNC suspends Sanders campaign from access to the party's voter file program

The Democratic National Committee has suspended Sen. Bernie Sanders' presidential campaign from accessing its voter database after the campaign took advantage of a software error to access Hillary Clinton's confidential voter information.

Sanders' campaign said the sneak peek was inadvertent.

Still, the suspension is a setback for the Vermont senator because the database is a goldmine of information about voters nationwide. Campaigns usually use that data to plot their next moves.

The DNC database keeps the information gathered by different campaigns separated by a firewall.

But the data systems vendor that runs the program dropped the firewall for a brief period of time Thursday, during which time the data was accessed.

  2. Why is any voter information confidential?

  3. 7:57 - if it's held by the party it can be proprietary...if it's held by the government it must be [public.....

  5. This is exactly what the DNC was looking for in order to distance itself from the Bern! Now they can officially say that the Sanders campaign committed a despicable act (even to their standards).

Hopefully, he'll start an independent campaign and split the dumbocrat vote like Perot did for Slick Willy!

We still have to coalesce around a viable candidate - without one of them running an independent campaign themselves....

Can the Republicans do that this time around? Do they have the discipline to keep their heads out of their @$$3$? Will they put up a real conservative instead of the RINO's McConnel and (now) Ryan?!

  6. Nobody votes for a Democrat they are just voting against someone else they hate.

  7. The GOP candidates trade email addresses of donors on the open market. I mean, Scott Walker's list was already bought by several bidders. Rubio's entire list is from John McCain. I honestly don't see how this is any worse.

  8. I would be willing to bet that Hillary won't be going on stage and saying, "Enough about Bernie's computer" at the next debate.
