    Just like I said-a HOAX. Oh and was I dressed down for saying that by some. I learned a long time ago-I am right 99.9% of the time and when I'm wrong it's a birth date. So to those who felt so compelled to criticize me-I TOLD YOU SO!

    The kid broke no law. Why refer it? Not his fault the parents went to the cops. This is technically speaking of course.
    Parents did the right thing. Unless the kids a known liar!

    5:34 He claimed he was a crime victim and went along with the charade for days. He could have told first responding officers that it was a hoax, joke whatever but he didn't.

    While pretty serious because he did cause quite a panic among parents who took their kids trick or treating in the area where he claimed he got the candy, I say ground him. No friends over or him allowed out for a month. While other kids are out and about he can spend his time raking leaves and washing windows. This is how things like this were handled in my younger years. It was your parents you had to worry about and not juvenile services.
    I remember some boys shot at a vacant houses windows with BB guns and when their mothers found out they were marched directly to the PD and made to confess. They worked doing odd jobs for weeks to pay for the new windows.

    I said the same thing...smells like a hoax to me. Every single "tainted Halloween candy" story has been proven to be a lie. The "original" urban legend of "razor blades in apples" or poisoned candy, turned out to be the kid's own uncle who put it there.
