Remember that arrest video? Here’s what happens when there’s no police

Last week video footage of a white policeman roughly subduing an unruly black student went viral. The policeman was fired — even though many students (black and white) in the school protested on his behalf.

So what happens in classrooms where there is no security? The Daily Mail says the following video was posted online of a group of U.S. high school students subjecting a despondent teacher to a barrage of abuse and intimidation inside the classroom.

In the short clip, an out-of-control student can been seen throwing things at her, telling her to ‘sit your a** down’ and threatening her with a chair.

  1. This is why I get mad when people on here bash teachers. Just two weeks ago while traveling, I met a teacher who had to deal with chair-throwing students. Threats to teachers and other students do not just happen in inner city schools. This guy did not work at an inner city school. It was a mixed school running the gamut of races and economics, although somewhat on the lower end of middle.

I know more horror stories, too, where teachers took a non-violent reprimand approach to dealing with problem kids. Guess what? They got canned. They controlled a situation without force, without police...and they were fired. To their administrator, shame on you!

  2. I hope this a wake-up call to those who think teachers have such an easy job. This sort of thing goes on every day in Wicomico County schools. It is not only on the high school level. The behavior in the lower grades is almost as bad - but usually the kids aren't as strong. Common Core is NOT the reason for our low test scores. This sort of behavior is. How can a teacher teach or how can YOUR child learn in this type of situation?
If you are a citizen concerned about the education of those young people who truly desire an education; demand this this type of student be removed from the class room. (As an aside - staff in this County are no longer allowed to deal firmly with disrupetive behavior.)

    1. Really? The have an easy job. The administration needs to start sending bad kids to the alternative schools that are in every district! Don't tell us that we parents have to demand removal. How could we? It's the teachers job to demand it. And the principals job to back them. And every messed up kid gets to see the guidance counselor which would also help. We have a school here called choices. It is damn near empty every day. Gives a sheriff a job and teachers but hardly no kids. Lmao. Like paying for a house you've never seen or heard of huh? Makes no sense right? Either does your comment.

  3. Exactly! These behaviors are typical in almost every school in Wicomico County. How about a first grade teacher friend who has a student physically assaulting her, destroying her classroom, school property, etc all the while her other 26 students are in the room. And what happens to him is he is allowed to stay in the classroom while the other 26 students have to be removed. Removed to go walk around the school until his melt down is over. But it's her fault right? And suspensions are at an all time low in this county since the U.S. Department of Justice is investigating...

  5. these people look nothing like the people in the arrest video where the cop used an unbelievable amount of force to "control" a girl. Sorry.

  6. 7:13 because private school can and will expell the student and they will not be allowed to be in that school forever.

They don't have the same rules as public schools, hence the better behavior. Most of the bad behavior in public schools comes from children of children : young blacks fathered by bums and thugs by teenage mothers who are as ignorant as rocks but hey, don't say anything because then you are racist or a hater.

  7. It doesn't happen at private schools because they don't take federal funding. So the government can't get involved because they have "no say". In a private school they would not let one child's behavior disrupt the learning for the rest of the class. That child would be removed from the class and the parents would either straighten it out at home or they would be looking for another school. This is your federal government making it impossible for teachers and administrators to do their job. This kind of behavior happens everyday all over the country but it only really makes the head lines when a parent or kid decides that somehow no matter how they contributed to the incident that it is the schools fault. So they are completely disobedient, disruptive, disrespectful and even attempt to assault or actually assault and the government is worried about counting the referrals by race instead of solving the problem. I could really care less about the reasons why kids act like this because at this age no matter your life circumstances you know the difference between right and wrong...it is just an excuse for unacceptable behavior. The problem starts and ends in the home with the parents.

  8. The original human DNA has been thinned out over thousands of years. To me personally it's miraculous that we're still walking upright and functional. The obvious intellectual decline is in the current younger generation.

  9. What you're seeing is the result of the policies that the liberal TEACHERS UNIONS have advocated for decades.
Perhaps it's time to re-think your positions.

  10. 7:46 you must be the parent of a "darling thug" child.

  11. 8:47 some of us have evolved into a quieter more peaceful type of human, there are others that continue to act like animals.

  12. 9:08...you think TEACHERS advocated for this? It would be like the police union arguing that police should only carry batons and water guns.
Private schools are showing the world that kids can and will sit down and pay attention if there are real consequences for NOT doing that.
In public school, the entire class and sometimes the entire system comes to a grinding halt in order to accommodate the kid who thinks throwing a chair at another kid (or teacher) is perfectly fine and he just needs some "quiet time" and some "understanding".
Anyone who thinks that Johnny, who is growing up in a single mother household, with 3 siblings that have to literally fight for what they have, with little to no discipline at home and maybe themselves victims of violent abuse, is going to change his violent behavior because he gets a "time out"??? Or "in-school" suspension????
And that is a short explanation of how we got to where we are today......

You beat me to it. That is exactly correct! They wanted all those liberal policies now they have to live or die with them.
