Montgomery County schools won’t have classes on one of the Islamic faith’s major holidays next year, a major victory for the local Muslim community after years of lobbying for the same treatment as Christians and Jews.
Montgomery County’s Board of Education voted 6 to 2 in support of a measure that would schedule a professional work day for teachers and administrators on Sept. 12, 2016, when the holy day of Eid al-Adha could fall next year. The holiday, based on moonsightings, could fall on Sept. 11, a Sunday, or on Sept. 12.
The decision means classes would not be held for the more than 156,000 students in the suburban Washington school system, Maryland’s largest.

And now it begins...their wish to spread Islam is coming to schools...this is a Christian nation that allows individuals to worship as they please on their own time...we don't close public schools for Jewish holidays...only for Christian holidays...the Muslim community will have to learn to worship their god without involving Christians...they don't like it, then go back to your Muslim countries...less us remember folks, Muslims DO NOT believe in their faith the way we do...they do not believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God...that is the deal breaker for me and should be the deal breaker for all Christians...God help our children, our citizens, our country...we are going to need his help.
ReplyDeleteWho the hell elects this people in Montgomery county?? Can you name one, just one Muslim who did ANYTHING to develop America? ?? The entire Muslim faith hates us as we should do the same in return. The people in this county are the dumbest. They are worse than Baltimore.
ReplyDeleteHere comes sharia law... get ready, you wanted it you asked for it now you got it...
ReplyDeleteWe do it for Christians therefore we have to do it for everyone. Stop the special privileges for just Christians and this will end.
ReplyDeleteI.D.I.O.T.S and traitors
ReplyDelete10:36. It has always been done for Christians. There should not be a day off for a political movement that degrades and abuses women and children. Oh yeah that also hates Christians and Jews.
ReplyDeleteNot just Christians and Jews but anyone who is not Muslim!

ReplyDeleteOh no they do NOT. There is no more Christmas Holiday or Easter Holiday that the school gives 'Christians' off school for. They have a winter break and a spring break. They can't even call it a Christmas program now, it has to be called a holiday program. Keep it up, I'm sure you or your spouse will look wonderful in a burka. The only reason they do close for winter break and spring break it because of the amount of students that would be absent during those times.
Has anybody else noticed the holiday is 9/11?
ReplyDeleteWins ... Trump's use of the word is done in the proper context... this is an unconstitutional slap in the face by a full time employed school board trying to impress Washington
ReplyDeleteCan I get Festivus off also?
ReplyDeleteWe just discussed this what????? Yesterday? Sharia law is on track to becoming all to real here in Maryland. Time to stop this now! They want this they need to put Muslim people on reservations like they did American Indians. Give them some areas that only they can control. If they leave the reservation let them be 100% monitored.
ReplyDelete12:47 The holiday is based on a lunar cycle so it won't always fall on the same day.
ReplyDeleteWhen i went to high school Jewish kids had off on their Jewish holidays as well as our Christian ones. I don't see the difference.
ReplyDeleteIn a few years there will be no more winter or spring break. Probably won't be any girls in school either, and if there are they will be wearing burkas.
ReplyDeleteIncremental gains.
ReplyDeleteA little victory here, another one there.. and eventually it crosses the line into Sharia.
That's their plan. They've stated it openly.
We'll see if America is dumb enough to let that happen.
"We do it for Christians therefore we have to do it for everyone." Negative. The schools go to great lengths to avoid associating the holidays with Christianity. This action, however, IS specifically associated with a Muslim holiday. Big difference, bucko.
