In these four years we have met so many caring, wonderful individuals, couples and families—including pets. We have made so many friends. There have been weddings, wedding receptions, bridal showers, birthdays, tea parties, graduation celebrations, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs. Our goal has been to provide a place that was an extension of our home - a place where strangers could become friends and feel welcome. We set high standards for everything we prepared, always putting quality first.
During this time, there have been many changes in our family.
Rachel and Rebekah are both in nursing school; Danielle and Eliana are in high school; Erin is a PA and Alex is a Pharmacist; Penny is a Clinical Instructor of Nursing and Kevin has a growing business that he owns and operates. It became obvious that we could no longer invest the time needed to maintain our goals.

After many hours of family discussions and reluctance to let go of what has been such an important part of our lives, we have decided it is time to move forward and close the Coffeehouse. The last day we will be open is November 29th. We would like to take this time to thank our amazing staff and wish them the very best.
Thank you Salisbury for being supportive and we will miss being a part of the Coffeehouse Community!

(We would love to see someone who would appreciate this business and make it theirs. Feel free to contact Kevin Twilley.)
I don't think this one is closing because of Salisbury, not that I am an advocated of Salisbury or Communitst Maryland. I hope this business will find new owners. I enjoy coffee and friends at this place. You will be missed.

Yeah, as someone who knows the family from temple, the kids simply grew up and are into other things. Since they can't run it as a family any more, they are opting to move on. Nothing wrong with that.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to see you go!!
ReplyDeleteSorry, too, that no one could be found to take it over and keep its wonderful food, customer service and ambiance.
Great business with great people absolutely nothing to do with the city of Salisbury.
ReplyDeleteGood coffee.
ReplyDeleteThis place isn't "succumbing" to anything, except a change in the owners' lives. It always does a good business.
ReplyDeletePlease, whoever takes it over, don't turn it into another bar!
Very hard to afford people who can run a small business and can't do it all yourself good luck to you.
ReplyDeleteAs a friend of the owners I'm dissapointed in the title of this article. Salisbury had nothing to do with the choices the owners made. It should be changed!
ReplyDelete3:48, Oh, shut up. That's right, you are full of crap with the friend of the owner BS.
ReplyDeleteSorry Joe, I can't agree with you on this one, seems like over the past year or so this place had some problems keeping this together. Could be the owners losing interest of kids growing up over whatever but it was the business not the town.
ReplyDelete"I just enjoy the fact that you read it"
ReplyDeleteanon 5:51. Sorry I just messed up your enjoyment. Joe didn't get a chance to see your little nasty rant. Remember he is not the only one that does comments. Now go away!
Boils down to "lack of management"...either the family has different agendas, can't survive on just selling coffee, or location of facility i.e. next to Royal Farms, Shore-stop, Pecan Square and McDonald's. You have to have something really outstanding to draw a big crowd continuously!
ReplyDeleteTurn it into a "Swingers" club, there are loads of Ashley Madison clients here in Salimsbury.
ReplyDeleteBrad & Joey --
ReplyDeleteHere's a place you can have that liquid lunch spot -- don't mean coffee!
Wrong on this one, not Salisbury's fault, the business has a good following, hate to see it go, hopefully someone else will buy and continue the good service..
ReplyDelete5 57 you must not go by this place or even know where it is placed is packed all the time as they do draw a big crowd daily now go back to flipping burgers at what ever joint you work at if you do in fact work...
ReplyDeleteBrad: Great spot for booz and girlfriends
ReplyDeleteHow about we just take their press release at face value? This place did a good business, had a loyal following. The kids are growing up and going their separate ways...and maybe the parents would like to follow a more lucrative path with kids in college, with the cost of that!
ReplyDeleteGood luck to the entire family. Nice people.
How many of you have done what they did? Start a business and make it work? I'd bet very few. Everyone wants to pile on and put their two cents in but won't step up to the plate. I know its late and you need to get up early and go work for someone that actually owns and runs a business. You can read this in the morning.
ReplyDeleteAnother brick room for the X mayor.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you think I was lying idk. I deliver there. Work foe US Foods 2 flights of frigging stairs you got to hump all the food up around back. Never could obtain credit with us always on COD. Orders getting smaller and smaller. Hired big shot chef that previously failed at other restaurants in OC paid him to much ultimately causing them to close doors. Carry on
ReplyDeleteIt was money pure and simple. Nothing nice like this ever last in the bury. If it made the money the people infer they could have hired management. So friends from Temple I don't buy your Jewish connection story at all.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear that the Twilley family is closing their business. It was a very nice place. The family was so wonderful to all of their customers. I hope that someone will buy the place and keep it going just as good as the Twilley family did.
ReplyDelete9:40-Orders getting smaller and smaller typically does occur in proximity of an anticipated closing.Who wouldn't eliminate inventory? Certainly none of it (or very little) could be returned to the distributors for a refund.
