ACLU Introduces New Video App For Smartphones In Maryland

The American Civil Liberties Union of Maryland on Friday unveiled Friday a free smartphone app that will allow residents to automatically record and submit cellphone videos of interactions with law enforcement to their organization when they feel their rights have been violated.

The ACLU unveiled the app at noon during a news conference at Coppin State University.

The app, called Mobile Justice MD, will be available in English and Spanish. Similar apps have been released across the country, according to the ACLU.

    1. So you've never seen free apps available for your phone?

  2. ACLU paid for it from donations. It is ironic that those people that have vilified the ACLU are now those that rally against the erosion of rights in the US such as privacy and 2nd amend.

  7. That right wing nut now scream about their civil liberties being taken away and the ACLU has been fighting the same fight for years. What don't you get?

  9. I do not have one of these Smartphones, but if I did, I'd have this app on it. The ACLU works for the American people, not against them like many of our LE agencies and departments do. I, for one, am glad that the ACLU has opted for and taken the initiative to become a clearing house agency for videoed accusations of LE & government abuse.

    1. In theory, I'd agree with you. But they pick and choose the "liberties" they believe We, The People should have. And worse, WHO should have those "civil liberties".

If they defended our Constitutional civil liberties, as spelled out in the Bill of Rights, I wouldn't have a problem with them.

Their agenda is so far left biased, that I feel they do much more harm than good at this point. They are quick to file suit to protect the First Amendment rights of a "minority" but are nowhere to be found if it is a dissenting opinion that is being repressed.

Such hypocrites. Our civil liberties include owning firearms and freely expressing our views through speech, writing and symbolism. But did they get involved when the Confederate Flag was all but banned? Or when Congress tries to meddle in the rights of Americans to own legal firearms?
