Ron Paul: ‘Greatest Resistance’ to Federal Reserve Audit is Desire to Keep International Activities Secret

"No, you can’t reveal our negotiations with other central banks, the World Bank, and what we do with governments," bankers told Paul

In an interview Monday with host Ameera David on RT, former United States House of Representatives member Ron Paul (R-TX) noted that the biggest resistance to his effort to require an audit of the Federal Reserve is rooted in the desire to shield the Fed’s international activities from scrutiny.

Paul explains in the interview focused on the Federal Reserve:

[An audit of the Federal Reserve] would especially reveal the international transactions that go on. When I worked on this in Washington, that was where the greatest resistance was: ‘No, you can’t reveal our negotiations with other central banks, the World Bank, and what we do with governments.’ Who knows what we’re doing, because we are very much involved in worldwide politics, and we have an empire to deal with, and we can channel funds in a certain way through the Federal Reserve. So they wouldn’t be able to do that if you had a true audit of the Fed.

  1. This is the crux of all our woes The illegal Federal reserve board. It killed Kennedy and has eroded all sense of american soverieignty.

  2. Great so we are in a political catch 22. Do not expect an audit to ever happen. So there will be no accountability because then we may see how screwed over we are really getting.

  3. If Americans found out what exactly they are doing at the so-called Federal Reserve, well, nothing would happen. A few yawns, a mention on Fox News, a bit of outrage from the right and then, uh, well, nothing.
If what has been done to "we, the people" so far hasn't alarmed and angered too many, then finding out that a few dozen men have made themselves rich beyond measure by stealing from everyone else is just another headline of the day.
As long as your stock portfolio is paying dividends, your rentals are bringing in huge dollars, or your EBT card still gets regular deposits, then who cares?
THAT is what they count on.
That, and your mindless, brainless, non-thinking, lemming-like cheering.
