I have all the respect in the world for Ben Carson. For only the second time in American politics, we would have a president who made his name outside of politics prior to his election if he won. (The first, for trivia fans, is Herbert Hoover as an engineer). He is humble, virtuous, honest, reliable, committed. But there is no way on Earth that he could defeat Hillary Clinton or even stand up to her in a debate.
Clinton would have him for lunch.
Carson combines the limited knowledge of government and budgeting of Sarah Palin with the soft voice of John McCain. Just as Obama ran all over McCain in the debates, so would Clinton run over Carson. But a lot worse.
On top of that, the Hillary Clinton who arrogates the credit for OK’ing the raid that killed Osama bin Laden is going to make mincemeat of Carson for his statement that he would not have sent troops to Afghanistan to pursue the Taliban after 9/11. Instead, Carson said in the first debate, he would have sought to end our dependence on foreign oil.
Ending our dependence on foreign oil is key and we are just a few years away from achieving total energy independence (except for imports from Canada and Mexico). But it will have taken 20 years. It was no substitute for an invasion that knocked al-Qaida back on its heels, forced it into the mountains and toppled the Taliban government in Afghanistan.

ReplyDeleteAnyone who can stand up on stage and has the backbone and integrity to call Hillary out on her laundry list of scandals and hypocrisy can beat her. She is not this unstoppable force. NO ONE has really gone after her. I guess the Dems are running a soft cuddly primary and the Rep want to hold off until after primary but even for someone who has no idea who Hillary Clinton is, 5 minutes worth of research on the internet would make her unelectable.
ReplyDeleteI am not too sure about that. Clinton would have an edge, no doubt, but Carson is growing on people. He is honest, under spoken and smart. He panders too much to the extreme religious right, but he is genuine in his opinion so that is to be respected. Clinton, on the other hand, would absolutely slay Donald Trump. Given the two I think Carson is the better opponent.
ReplyDeleteIf you read Dr. Carson's books, you will find what a very good man he is, and how much thought he has given to many problems in this country. I think he will make a great president and bring sanity back to the government. Hillary has too much crooked baggage she drags around, and people are smart enough to find out about it. She will never win.
ReplyDeleteHillary isn't likable.
ReplyDeleteCarson would tear her half-aced excuses, double talk, and pie in the sky promises to shreds.
ReplyDeleteTruth beats lies every time.
Trump and Carson could hang Hitlery easily. They both have the truth on their side, and both have leadership abilities, not enslavement abilities like her.
ReplyDeleteThis will be an easy victory.
Sorry Carson will whip her lying crooked azzz. People are getting sick of her and the likes of her. That is if she is not in jail
ReplyDeleteAll the republican candidates can beat her if they stay with the truth and fight. If a weak minded establishment type gets the nomination and does not stand up to her she will win.
ReplyDeleteI don't know who wrote this article but you need to send them out for a drug test. To start with the losers are her dupes and ANYONE who would think ANYTHING she said would faintly resemble the TRUTH. Bob Aswell...voter
