A Missouri sheriff has slapped “In God We Trust” decals on patrol cars saying “there is no better time than now” to be displaying the national motto.
Sheriff Doug Rader of Stone County in the Ozarks said he was proud to announce that the decals are now on the back of department vehicles, but not everyone is pleased, Fox2Now reports.
“Very simple and ill state for the record, I’m not offended that these decals exist, IT’S INAPPROPRIATE TO HAVE THEM ON GOVERNMENT PROPERTY. No voting required, it’s a violation of church and state. You are showing preference to a religion, how is this such a mystery? “ Nathan Belden said in a comment posted on the Sheriff’s Facebook page.
The station said some are also questioning where the money came from to pay for the decals. The Sheriff’s Department said it used money donated from local businesses to buy them, not taxpayer funds.
Rader said on Facebook July 21 that the decals were appropriate because “In God We Trust” became the national motto in 1956 and is on all U.S. currency.
“There has been no better time than now to proudly display our National Motto!” the sheriff wrote.
More here
When our countries official national motto is demonized by our own citizens, you know we really have been destroyed from within and there is no future!
ReplyDeleteIf you don't like our Christian Nation, go like something else.
ReplyDeleteJust go.
When are people going to take time to read the constitution!? The 1st amendment states: Religion and Expression. Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. No where in there is it stated about a separation, only that the state will not establish any religion that must be followed. We are free to worship, or not as we see fit, as long as it doesn't affect any ones life, liberty or pursuit of happiness. Unlike the Muslim religion which says that no-believers must convert or be killed. This country was founded on Christian-Judeo principles and as stated it is our national motto. Plus I'm sure these deputies would answer/protect any persons in need regardless of their religion. The PC bulls**t needs to stop, people have a right to believe/say what they want. There are a lot of things that I find offensive but I'm not out there trying to get all those things done away with. That would be ludicrous! GOD bless the USA!!! If you're offended, get a life or leave the country. Tom Goslee
ReplyDeleteDo not give in to political correctness, leave them on there. Just wish Maryland would follow suit.
ReplyDeleteSomebody is always going to be offended by something. Some things are worth promoting regardless of who gets offended (others are not). If the officers had put a gay rainbow symbol on the car I would have been offended. I'm sure there are those who think that would be wonderful. Personally I would want a cop that belives in God to interact with me. Nice decal.
ReplyDeleteThis is GREAT!!

How are you gonna argue with that?
I hope he will stand his ground, and I hope LOTS of other LE agencies around the country will do the same thing.
The 'separation of church/state' argument is fraud. The Constitution does not say that.
Bow to their religion or face the consequences.
ReplyDeleteIf the bumper stickers were praising the Muslim religion everyone here would be having a melt down. This is a flagrant violation of the establishment clause.
ReplyDeleteListen up, this means you Christians: when you allow this to happen you are giving Muslims a pass to do it too. And/or Satanists for that matter.
There is a REASON that the Government must stay secular, and that is to ensure religious liberties.
Take heed, supporting this is a mistake.
It needs to be changed to "In Allah we Trust", to not be offensive to the Muslims, after all, this new America has to bow down to the minority now, no longer does the majority rule.
ReplyDeletein other words 1145 all of our currency needs to be changed
ReplyDeleteour slogan should be " in obama we trust, in barney frank we trust, in filthary we trust, in nancy we trust, or just we say wave the freak flag high
ReplyDelete12:38, we did it in the 1950's when Eisenhower came up with "In God We Trust". Never there before then.
ReplyDelete11:45
ReplyDeleteYou are so right but they just don't get it around here.
@11:45
ReplyDeleteYes, indeed, it does. It was ADDED in the 1950's due to the Red Scare, as was the adoption of it as the national motto. Both need to be repealed and removed.
People are so stupid they actually believe this has been around since the country was founded.
ReplyDelete"Listen up, this means you Christians: when you allow this to happen you are giving Muslims a pass to do it too. And/or Satanists for that matter."
ReplyDeleteWhen are you fools going to wake up? The muslims and the satanists ALREADY have their passes. Besides which - nobody is claiming any particular 'God' in which to trust. There is nothing exclusively Christian about this at all. Chill out and find yourself a real issue to get excited about.
"Religion and good morals are the only solid foundation of public liberty and happiness."
ReplyDeleteSamuel Adams. And I don't think it was in the 1950's, and I don't think he was talking Arabic, either.
"How many observe Christ’s birth-day! How few, his precepts! O! ’tis easier to keep Holidays than Commandments."
ReplyDelete~Ben Franklin, just before the 1950's!
All references to church, Christ, God, anything religious needs to be removed from all government buildings, property, parks, money, anything that receives public monies! Just like the confederate flag, ban all of it!
