Wicomico Geocache Dash & Bash Returns August 22

Salisbury, MD – Wicomico County Recreation, Parks and Tourism will host the 5th Annual Geocache Dash and Bash on Saturday, August 22. This event is free, family-friendly, pet-friendly and open to the public. The event kicks off at Schumaker Park from 8 - 10 a.m., where cachers may pick up Dash passports, area maps and download trail coordinates. The trail is designed to introduce people to Wicomico County's "Hidden Treasures," and can easily be completed in one day. In addition to the land locations, two boat-only caches are featured in the Dash so cachers can experience Wicomico's waterways. Kayaks will be provided on the day of the event free of charge. The Dash works on a passport system and the first 100 cachers who complete the Dash and submit their passport will earn a trackable GeoCoin.

After the Dash, return to Schumaker Park for the Bash from 12 - 4 p.m. Meet other cachers from near and far and share adventure stories. The Bash features door prizes and games including disc golf, corn hole, Kan Jam and ladder toss. Cookout food will be available for purchase.

  1. Joe,
We have a major problem at the Nanticoke Harbor and beach. Every evening a group of black kids(15-18 years) resort to swimming and diving off the boat ramps at Nanticoke Harbor . They are sometimes at Bivalve harbor also. I believe it's just a matter of time before one gets injured because of the amount of boat traffic. I have told them it's illegal to swim at these locations , but they just laugh and tell me to go f--- myself. My question is why don't the so called Wicomico county parks and recreation police enforce these issues. Last night , before dark about 6 of them finished diving and started smoking pot , with another group that showed up at dusk.

  2. 6:07, Why do you have to mention "black kids"? You could have very easily just said, KIDS.

  3. Joe, what does it matter. Whoever sent this in, is just telling it like it is and what they are observing. They are diving and jumping off the boat ramps and SHOULD NOT BE. If one of them gets hurt or Lord forbid killed doing this, parents are going to scream to high heaven.

  4. Sorry for pointing out that they were black. I now realize that we cannot do that without complaints . I was just hoping that would help to insure that the Kids would be caught and warned of the issues.

  5. Shoot at them with a BB gun or organize with fellow locals and hang out there until THEY feel uncomfortable.
