A Viewer Writes...

The City has broken ground on the replacement for a new Fire Station #2. There goes our taxes. Just remember that Jake Day voted for this and he wants to be the next Mayor.

  1. The people in the know understand Jake. All others have no clue. Jake and Jimbo share the same vision and ideas. All Jake is going to be is another Jimbo in a straight mans body.

  2. Spend, spend, spend ..... It's not their money, it's ours!!! Also, I'll bet the BOE could have gotten a lot better deal using the 200K+ rent they are paying to fix up and use the BMS. How much is that over a ten year period? Over 2 million!

  3. Didn't Gary Comegys own property somewhere near that station? Any connection now? Barrie Tilghman had some property around Brown St. at one time? Any connection there?

  4. Good you all can get on here and express your opinions. The problem is you and your friends and neighbors need to express your opinion to the Mayor and Council. The Mayor and Council is under no obligation to act upon remarks on a blog made by anonymous people - if they even read the blog. Has griping on a blog ever changed the officials mind? You say "I'll never vote for X again for wasting taxpayers money" but somehow these same people are re-elected, unless they choose not to run.

  5. There better not be any fire trucks running all over the city with a loaded staff in them seeking out places to eat. Eat in the firehouse and stop wasting gas that taxpayers are paying for. This is totally unnecessary. When these idiots finally see more and more people moving out of this city and even this county then they'll beg to lower the property taxes to bring people back, but by then this will just be a wasteland and not much good for anything, not even the entitled ones.

    1. And what will you do if "fire trucks run all over the city with a loaded staff in them seeking out places to eat"?

Hundreds of anonymous comments.have been posted on here the past few years concerning this very subject, with no changes being made. You want change. stop mouthing off on a blog under anonymous, and get that mouth working giving your opinions in person to the proper officials.

  7. Seriously....it would be fine if all it was going to be was a fire house...not a gym...and not a place to meet up with ur affairs while on duty. U might as well open a bar because they have the same mentality.

Gary owned the property on the corner of Naylor and Brown Streets and sold it to the City. It is or was the paved lot across the street that was rarely used.

  11. Hey 5:55 PM ask a City employee who was a city resident and tax payer how Barry Tilghman treated him for speaking out.

And Jim and Jake are paying former and ousted volunteer Deputy Chief Bill Gordy as the General Contractor.

  14. Anyone with a brain will not put down their name on this blog retaliation is real in this town. Anything you report to council members, coding and compliance someone always reports it to the ones complained about--believe it has happened more than once to myself. I have had the ones I tried to work with so not to complain, and finally had to complain because things get worse and worse, then come back and tell me they were given my name by council members and coding and compliance, and the number of complaints I made and who I made them to. It is a fact so think less of us if we do not choose to use our names.
