I don't contest that. What concerns me is people using their voice, to try and silence his by posting his address, and place of employment, bullying and shaming. If you remember during the 9-11 attacks on our country the Pizza City owners had a lot of controversy about their business and their advertisement logos seemed to prove they were terrorist supporters. I don't know if any of this has changed or not.

Pizza City's managers and owners were appalled by this and terminated his employment immediately. He worked for them for a few years and was let go within minutes of them finding out about his facebook posting.

ReplyDeleteStation #2, #1 and Station #6 Parsonsburg was just dispatched to a reported Structure Fire on 31024 Old Ocean City Road, cross streets of Benita Avenue and Refuge Lane. This call was in the county and far from the city line.
Paramedic 1 comes on the air and tells Central to have another Paramedic unit respond and have PD respond to Rt. 13 and Main Street for a accident involving their unit, Paramedic 1. Then Central advises them it was a church and it started in the electrical box. Assistant Chief 1(David Insley) tells Central to put Station 16's paid fire crew on the call and Engine 16-1 responded immediately. Funny thing is this call was near Parsonsburg's territory and Engine 16-1 beat everyone there. They were obviously responding before they were requested. They weren't even dispatched and responded first because they didn't want a County volunteer fire station to beat them to the fire. Can't let Bob Culver or the public hear about that one. This was a 3 station response not a 4 station response and the fire chiefs association needs to file a formal complaint about it to the County Executives office. Again Salisbury thinks they have to make the rules regarding the fire service in the county. Bob Culver is in charge of the 911 Center and he needs to tell the 911 Department Head that the County runs that place and not the Salisbury Fire Department. The 911 Center should have told Engine 16-1 that they were not due on the call and returned them to service. The response of Engine 16-1 could have easily resulted in an accident just like the one with Paramedic 1. Turned out it wasn't even a real fire and now Assistant Chief 1 turned over command to Engine 16-1 and now no fire engine is covering the West Side near Station 16. Md. CRIMINAL LAW Code Ann. § 10-704 (2014)
§ 10-704. Mutilation
(a) Prohibited. -- A person may not intentionally mutilate, deface, destroy, burn, trample, or use a flag:
(1) in a manner intended to incite or produce an imminent breach of the peace; and
(2) under circumstances likely to incite or produce an imminent breach of the peace.
(b) Penalty. -- A person who violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to imprisonment not exceeding 1 year or a fine not exceeding $ 1,000 or both.

ReplyDeleteIf America was to burn as you so poignantly put it in you post, you would not like the results. I feel that you are misguided in your point of view (but let me add that even though I am not a millennial I am of the age where social security will not exist for me either - nor my generation - so I share your feelings in that respect).
Now on to the bigger picture. Just what do you think will become of this country if it does burn? Will you enjoy your time on this planet and in this country more-so? The flag that "Represents" our freedoms is what is at stake here and those who do not either understand what went into securing those freedoms back in 1776 or what it takes to maintain those freedoms today is at a disadvantage. Burning the flag after it has touched the ground of has become disheveled or tattered, or as a means to protest is one thing and it is protected speech but to simply burn it to make a mockery of it is something completely different. That is a criminal offense.
It seems to me that this young man probably has absolutely no knowledge of the history of this great country (warts and all) nor of the challenges that millions of people from all parts of the world have faced to become Americans. This fella has probably been kowtowed to by his parents having never lifted a finger in the defense of anything other than which video game that he feels is the best. He obviously doesn't care about his appearance (according to his picture) - this should not be misconstrued with physical appearance because that would be how nature made you, it's what you do with what you have that I'm talking about. He has never had to work for anything that is truly worthwhile.
You should go to another country like one in the Middle East and see how those people are fairing under ISIS/ISIL or maybe to one of the more progressive States like Saudi Arabia and see the freedoms that they enjoy. It will be an eye-opener for certain. Friday night beheading's, women being stoned to death for adultery or having been raped to name just a few. Speak out against Islam and the religious police will show up to take you into custody which most likely will end up with a beheading or stoning or if you get lucky just 100 lashes with a whip.
You see, we can say or do just about anything in this country and it is considered protected - look up Oliver Wendell Holmes to find out what is illegal. But just because you can doesn't mean that you should. I agree that much of what our country has gotten into since WWII is BS and that our government is running amok with frivolous spending and bloated entitlement programs but even with that we are still better than anything else on the market. If not then why are there still so many that are trying to get here?
There is no need to kill his dumb-ass, that is too harsh and serves no real purpose, but as I stated in a previous posting that a blanket party might not be a bad idea just to give him a bit of any awakening. You don't bite the hand that feeds you and if you don't like being here then there is always Mexico, he can say high to all of the Mexicans who are risking life and limb going North as he's heading South.
