Wicomico County Employees Expect To Work At 10:00 AM

I got up at 4:30 this morning to make sure I had the time to clear our driveway so my Bride could get to work. Obviously the roads are in pretty bad shape.

With the rain first and then snow on top of it I can tell you, clearing the driveway alone was a major challenge. Snow blowers aren't so great when it comes to slush underneath the snow.

I haven't had the opportunity to get out there to see how the rest of the road conditions are but hopefully the ones that did go to work today can report back in comments to let us know what to expect.

Be safe and have a great day. Use extreme caution on the roads, says County Executive Bob Culver.

  3. My Wife took her Prius this morning, (very light weight) and drove from Delmar to Fruitland. She said the roads are patchy but if you take your time you'll be fine.

Now, if she can make it in a PRIUS, well, come on people, quit complaining.

  4. If you were such a good husband, you would have driven your Bride to work. Just sayin!

  5. 9:01, Because I RESPECT my Bride, I would never suggest I can do something better then she can. My Bride is an excellent driver. In fact, LOOK on the side of the road and you'll see mainly rednecks in a pickup trucks, (men) down in a ditch because they THINK they are better drivers.

It's no wonder you remain anonymous. You'd have 40,000 women bashing the crap out of you today.

  6. 9:10 Ha... 40,000 women? It would only take 5 minutes before they turned on each other, and you could slip out without being noticed.

  7. So glad your wife in her Prius made it to work safely today and she didn't encounter the other drivers that I did!

  8. Im not fan of Joe, i disagree with just about everything he says. But nothing bothers me more than seeing someone say something negative about his family. Leave his wife (and most important his kid/ kids????) out of any comment.

  12. Even though a lot of places opened late, it was better to leave early because then there was hardly anyone on the road. I still would have rather had my husband drive me to work in this mess. Good for your brave wife!

  13. No 9:18 I'm pretty sure they would beat the crap out of you, after your mom went down in the basement and unplugged you

  14. It would have been nice to have known early about County offices opening late. There was nothing on the website when I looked around 7:30 am.
An early email to all employees would be quite helpful.
Glad for the delay, though! Especially since the city roads are still solid ice.
