  1. The vehicle he was driving is registered to the Takoma Park Police Department, where Ala is employed as a police officer. He was off-duty at the time of the crash.

My guess is that speed was a factor and he was on a cell phone talking or texting. I hope the appropriate charges apply. I myself have been speeding on 97 and in the area of this accident. If you are not paying attention you can cause a serious accident.

This person should be charged with manslaughter x 3. I typically support all officers, but something in this case stinks.

  2. So sad to read this. Hopefully the lord received them all. No excuse for any cop to kill people in a manner like this. I hope he received the maximum and unbiased punishment possible. And rail road his butt!

  3. Unfortunately, he will receive a slap on the wrist, if that, a new truck, and back on the job as if nothing happened.

    Just watch.

May the Good Lord welcome these poor souls.

  4. Very sad. The young people were SU students returning to Salisbury from Spring Break.

  5. One would think that a police officer would have better sense & reaction time. I have to wonder what kind of speed was involved to have flipped the car. Didn't even slow for stopped traffic?! Those poor people!! At least the daughter won't have survivor's guilt for the loss of her father that wasn't her fault. RIP, poor souls; should never have happened.
