ReplyDeleteThis was the Senate vote. The repeal still has to be voted on in the House, so at this point in time, the rain tax is still law.

This means, that there is still a rain tax, just not a mandate which forces you to pay, now it will still be a tax and still called the rain tax but now it is voluntary, which our mayor says he will make you pay into... Since the eastern shore was exempt from the rain tax from the get go, the mayor still wants to implement this and, best believe you will still have to it here in SBY...
It is like when you all cheer for $8 for the bay bridge toll vs it being $10 as was proposed... You feel like you did something good by fighting the govt and getting them to back down on 2 fucking dollars, but in reality, the govt got what they wanted, a toll increase from $2.50 to $8

2:25PM- I agree, I can't wait either. When we get word, it would be nice, for those folks who would like to see him but can't drive, if we could rally everyone and maybe get a couple of buses or car pools together. So that anyone who wants to see him can have a chance.

ReplyDeleteTo offset the loss of revenue there is going to be a new tax on breathing. Those with larger lungs will pay more, and smaller people will pay less.
