Are Police Officers & Firefighters Retaliating Against Their Leaders?
It has become overwhelmingly clear that the people running the new False Alert site are fed up with law enforcement not exposing CRIME like they should.
As we've mentioned in the past, all we get any more in press releases are Most Wanted and Shoplifters.
While these men and women are out there busting their rear ends to fight crime and fires, leaders are not exposing what's actually going on so these men and women have banded together and did it on their own.
It's a real smack in the face for Chief Barbara Duncan, Sheriff Mike Lewis and Fire Chief Rick Hoppes. You now have to ask yourself, are these men and women doing the right thing? Should officers, firefighters and dispatchers be posting things as soon as they are called in?
All that is debatable but one thing is absolutely for sure here, there's NO other reason these people would have started that Website, especially being in the line of business they are in.
One last thing. Many leaders in this community keep telling me, the more you expose crime the worse it looks for Salisbury and Wicomico County whenever you Google these areas. They have also gone on to say how it hurts their Bond Rating too. Well, now they have their own people working for the City and County doing exactly that, WITHOUT ANY confirmation. How crazy is that!
I think you hit the nail on the head here joe the cops are running this site to expose what the idiot mayor, police chief and sheriff wont, Kudos to them.
ReplyDeleteThey should all be fired. Lewis and Duncan work hard every day and are fine leaders. Oh boy... this is a smack in the face.
ReplyDeleteSaid no one ever
DeleteI'm not versed enough to speak about the bond rating but what I do know is it makes the politicians and their appointed lackey's look good, if they can say crime is down.
ReplyDeleteNot reporting true and accurate crime no matter what is a bad practice all around.
Take for example, the deputy involved shooting last week. The lack of accurate crime reporting makes it look like this place is Utopia and the victim was just out for a late night star gazing stroll in and around Utopia when he was for no reason what so ever, singled out by the deputy.
If the Mayor had a set, he would demand the PD release to his office every single report of crime. He would then make public charts showing the race of those involved which would be overwhelmingly black. He then needs to give the black communities a choice-either they let LE do their jobs or don't call on them. A real leader will put them in their place and let them know they aren't in charge.
10:12, WHAT? You can't be serious. You want to make this a black vs. white thing! What an Idiot. Please, whatever you do, please never run for Office.
ReplyDeleteSince when is reporting facts a smack in the face? What in the hell is wrong with you 10:10?
ReplyDeleteDon't you believe in transparency which equates to honesty?
You are all that is wrong in the country and don't you dare ever forget it. You are a coward who is afraid of the truth. Please don't even tell me you have children. You are a poor example of a person much less a parent. Rather have people living in a fantasy. You are sick!
I think this is a good thing that the mayor and chief and sheriff get called out on crime long overdue will wboc pick this up ? Who cares.
ReplyDelete10:16, Hold on now. Afraid of the TRUTH? Look at the last image on this article. There is NO TRUTH in what they are scaring the crap out of people with. There was NO drive by shooting, NOTHING. Man, you people involved really think you're doing good for the community, what a load of crap. I've been doing this for TEN years and let me assure you, what False Alert is doing, (especially the very people running it who are IN THE BUSINESS) is everything WRONG with Internet Abuse.
ReplyDeleteSomeone called them the Brian Williams of the Eastern Shore yesterday and they are right. No one can ever trust them. Then again, lots of people buy the National Enquirer.
I think they are insubordinate. You are spot on with this and the hammer will come down on all of them. I heard last night that they had been warned to stay out of it.
ReplyDeleteThe cops must be really pissed off at chief Duncan. Are things really that bad there.
ReplyDeleteWorse than you can imagine
DeleteMike lewis is a total joke. he deserves to have his officers abandon him.
ReplyDeleteHe's already abandoned them. After Sarahs death to be exact. The media attention had him seeing the governor's mansion. And he still is seeking all the light he can get.
DeleteNO confidence vote on Liarton,Duncan,Lewis.
ReplyDeleteLewis abandoned his people when he hired Owens.
ReplyDeleteJOE i never see cops around doing pro active police work all i see is reactive responses, after the crime is committed, time for a anti crime unit to hit high crime areas i DON'T care about PC.
ReplyDeleteWhat? They just proactively killed a man! Their own words. Proactive policing not violating rights.
DeleteDuncan doesn't want them doing proactive work. She wants them writing reports and arresting shoplifters
DeleteI can just imagine how many people are reading this article while wondering why these officers would turn on their bosses. I'd say Culver and Ireton need to get a strong hold on this situation and fast.
ReplyDeleteRecently I was impressed by Mike Lewis' support of his deputy who was involved in the shooting on Dennis Street but he needs to be at the office doing his job. I realize he is an elected official and we should demand he be in the office more than 3 days a week and not off teaching everyone else. I never thought when I voted for him he would be an absentee sheriff!! I am truly disappointed.
ReplyDeleteMr racial profile himself? Of course he backed his deputy.
DeleteSalisbury WILL be the next Ferguson.
ReplyDeleteDa 'Bury is all unicorns, rainbows and fairy's, how can the crime rate NOT BE down?
ReplyDeleteWicomico County does not need an absentee sheriff and that is precisely what Wicomico County has. Lewis you either need to teach or be Sheriff but not both. Very disappointed in you. Too bad we pay you full time when all you are is part time.
ReplyDeleteJoe is absolutely right. Crime is a business for city officials. If the police department shows crime is going down - then - they risk their budgets getting slashed.
ReplyDeleteSo the 'deck' is stacked against the taxpayers from the outset. The more people realize that law enforcement has a vested interest in seeing crime is increasing, increasing calls, and showing increases in actual crime statistics, the more these departments make a case for budget increases. IT'S PURELY A BUSINESS FOR THEM.
Bingo! Makes for some good begging. We need more more more!
Deleteincreasing crime = more funds but people will sell there homes then your little town will be another chicago so great work IRETON you irresponsible idiot keep up the shit work.
ReplyDeleteHey Duncan RESIGN.
ReplyDeleteI do not see why you are bashing Mike Lewis. The Sheriff does not have to be in the building for that agency to function. Mike is not the only weapon against crime in this county. Keep up the great work men and women of the local police departments. The bottom line is you know what you do daily to fight crime. If you couch criers think you can do a better job they hold elections every four years and human resources is open daily for applicants lol Easy to be a Monday morning Q.B. when your ass is not on the line. Have a Delmarvalous Day
ReplyDeleteNo sir my taxes pay for YOU to patrol the area thats WHAT you signed up for, do your dann job.
DeleteThe president is never in his office either. How's our country looking there Mike?
DeleteThat is true 1:22. But it seems like he has off more than the teachers do. But hey we don't need a president either. With all his golf trips. The country is just fine.
ReplyDeleteI cant speak for the Policemen but the Firefighters don't have anything to do with any of this reporting. It doesn't matter to us if its reported or not. All you have to do is listen to a scanner to tell whats going on out there. Constant calls day and night. That's whats going on. Its a City what do you expect ?
ReplyDeleteI can name one ff of gate. Out of powellville! And city? Who are you? Fop president or something? Compare Salisbury to a city. Your a moron. Baltimore county at its most rural is bigger and busier than Salisbury.
Delete3:21, Do you have ANY idea how big a fool you just made of yourself?
ReplyDeleteInstant Firefighter images BEFORE anyone can even try publishing any information, HELLO!
Yeah, no firefighters are involved. Are you Brian Williams Son, by chance?
1:22 then why did Lewis get a raise if he isn't needed in the office, why pay someone to be out teaching and double dipping on salaries. Can't have your cake and eat it too.
ReplyDeleteThat bitch got a raise? How and by whom? I thought it was a set position and salary! I'm done! Please Joe get to the bottom of this! In what way does he deserve a raise. Who approved it? No! No! No! This is by far not right.
Delete12:26 and going after kids on bikes
ReplyDeleteThe so called leaders aren't showing leadership.
ReplyDeleteLewis got a raise because he desrved it you mouth breathing tard. The county has it crap under control. Bring a gun to a gun fight the better trained gun fighter will win. Amen. If you dont like it here leave. It is that freaking simple. Pack your wicker basket and Wal Mart suit case and get the f*ck out. It is not hard. I love Weeeekameeko County would not leave for anything. Have a Delmarvalous Day !!! Matt Jones for Senate !!!!
