Video shows NJ student slamming teacher to floor for allegedly taking phone away

PATERSON, N.J. (PIX11) — A ninth grader at John F. Kennedy High School in Paterson, N.J. was arrested Friday after police say he attacked his teacher and slammed him to the floor in the classroom.

All because of a cell phone.

The attack, captured on video, shows the teen slamming the 62-year-old teacher to the floor in front of other students in an effort to get his cell phone back on Thursday.

David Cozart, principal of operations at JFK, said the incident began when the teacher confiscated the phone from the student.

  1. Nothing new here... Typical of our school systems and society in general under the Obama reign.

  6. He would fit right in to our local mall.

  7. The kid would not even get arrested in the local HS where I teach. And if the teacher pressed charges, his job would be made into a living hell by the administration for speaking up about it.

  8. And most teachers will not fight back for fear of loosing their jobs. And, the reason for that is the teachers don't get the needed support of the administration and the liberal school boards.

  9. I would have lost my job. I would have knocked the S#*T out of that kid.

  10. It's not a teachers job to take things from students. Let the principal or authorities handle an unruly student. Teachers are supposed to be smart.

  11. 1:08 Wrong. Teachers are supposed to be able to control the classroom to be a learning environment. The student knew the rules and continued to disrupt the class with his cell phone. What this kid needs is a goo ass kicking.

  12. Since Obama's racist executive order mandating that black kids receive no more incidents of discipline by schools than white kids, regardless of behavior, teachers can't even send them to the principal's office without racking up the "quota" for discipline. So the kids that actually want to learn, are the ones this really hurts.

The kids know they have pretty much free rein. Only the ones taught manners, respect and self-discipline have a chance now. The rest, brought up feral, will only continue to populate the prisons.

The parents voted for "their" president, and he's set the bar for "his" people...and it's a low one. To acknowledge there is a behavioral problem in their community, but turning a deliberate blind eye to the source, is doing them a disservice by lowering expectations.

  13. Wrong 1:28. What we need is elimination of these dirt bags. You can not fix them; it is part of who they are.

Most likely this kid will not contribute to society in any meaningful way. He will probably be behind bars in short order.
