Moe’s Southwest Grill Coming to Salisbury

Brent Miller, CCIM, CPM, Senior Advisor and Managing Director of Sperry Van Ness – Miller Commercial Real Estate and Tonney Insley, Advisor, are pleased to announce that the restaurant franchise Moe’s Southwest Grill has signed a 10 year lease for a space on Rt. 13 North. The 3,000 square foot space at 2640 North Salisbury Blvd shares a building with Dunkin’ Donuts, and is anchored by Sam’s Club and Walmart. “Brent and his team attracted interest from a variety of national tenants for this location,” stated landlord Nick Nistazos. “We are excited to have Moe’s join us in this center and are looking forward to their grand opening in late February.”

Moe’s Southwest Grill was founded in December 2000 in Atlanta, GA, and is a fun and engaging fast-casual restaurant franchise that serves a wide variety of fresh, made-to-order Southwest fare. “Salisbury is a great location for us and we are excited to open our newest Moe’s Southwest Grill restaurant here in late February,” commented Larry Wilson, franchisee of Moe’s Southwest Grill. “We are in the process of planning some great grand opening activities and fundraisers and we look forward to giving back and getting involved in the community.” Wilson owns twenty-five Moe’s and Hoopla! Restaurants throughout New York and Pennsylvania.

  10. Buy local...so people local can survive. Down with franchises...

  11. that's all well and good. people have to eat and college students need a job, but come on, how about some REAL jobs. some real industry. don't ya think we have enough fast foods, banks, car dealers, convenience stores, spin-offs from the hospital, etc.?

not a whole lot. just one or two fortune 500 companies that could employ several thousand.

I know I'm dreaming but what else can you do around here?

  12. You all are the most negative people I've ever seen. First of all, Moe's is not a full service restaurant, so they don't have wait staff. It's the same concept as chipotle. And the franchise is someone's source of income. If you don't want a job in that industry, don't apply. Plain and simple. And if you want more local businesses, why don't you start one then? Stop whining and do something about it, if it's such a big concern of yours.

  13. Yea! Just what Salisbury needs...
Another food franchise with low wage jobs.

  14. For each new food joint, one leaves -- Chicago Uno, etc. The market is just so big and the internet (and thugs in the stores and mall) are reducing shopping at the mecca at the north end of da bury.

  15. 1:01 not "negative" at all. Just people with higher standards than yours voicing an opinion.
Quite frankly I take extreme pity on you-Getting all jazzed up over another chain business is about as low as anyone can get on the economic development chain.
You need to broaden your scope of expectations. It will benefit not only you but future generations.

  16. Last thing Salisbury needs is another resturant. It will either force someone local out of business, or fail itself. Just give it time. More jobs will be lost than gained soon enough by another new rest.

  17. I'm not so much against a chain restaurant coming but then again I am. We do need places providing more than 20 people with a job. Salisbury is down grading in my opinion though. About to be a restaurant/party town before we know it. But if people have jobs and can get by then maybe it will be worth it.

  18. Its a restaurant people! You can choose to eat there or not.How hard is that?

  19. hopefully we have people in place now that can search for businesses to come to our area. of course, we have to make changes to make us business friendly.

looking at the website for this new restaurant; it does seem to offer very healthy offerings. better than a lot of the fast food establishments.

  20. Whatever, I have no money to eat out, so I could care less.
And the naysayers... right on. Another minimum wage job, nothing to celebrate.

8:26 AM, thank you. I could not have said it better.

Well really David Rice? There's no fooling you is there?
No kidding is a restaurant! That's not the issue. The issue is the poverty level wages the employees will be making forcing them to use one of more government welfare programs to survive.
For all of those who think all these low paying jobs are so wonderful how about starting an "Adopt a Low Wage Earner" program and you all pay for their medical care, renters assistance, food stamps, etc.
You people just don't get it.
Oh how democrat insider Jonathan Gruber was so right when he so eloquently stated "the STUPID American voter."

  22. Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy another restaurant. Another building that won't be long before it's empty. Most can't afford to support all of these restaurants and bars. If, for some reason a large manufacturing company decided to set up shop here then, after we dig out from under all the bills, people might be able to afford to support all of these restaurants and bars. Until that time, it will be another business I can't support.

  23. No one is getting "jazzed up" over anything. The issue here is that everyone seems to be voicing their concern over this, yet no one seems to want to do anything about it, other than sit behind a keyboard and complain. My point is that there are plenty of opportunities to make a change if something bothers you that much. You want to bash someone who's trying to bring in their business and actually take those steps, but you are just sitting at home typing your complaints. I'm not saying this is great for the community but I won't bash them for trying. It's a lot more than most people do. Don't have pity on me, please. I don't need that. I'm just making my point clear.

  24. 4:30, Your just getting that?

This has always been the problem.

I created SBYNews to educate the public in the hope that people would get more involved.

All I can tell you is, we have become the most popular and most visited Website in the State.

While many do not do anything about it, (at the moment) a time will come, (probably in the next election) where people will show how fed up they are.

Know this to be a FACT, the nay sayers are laughing in your faces because they know, you people are just too damn lazy to do anything about anything. They've got you right where they want you. It really is a shame.

Congratulations on a very well stated comment. What have you people done to improve the job market, or the economy around here? All you do is complain, get off your attitude and do something to help out around here. If you still don't like it after you've done something worthy, come back tell us what you have done and MAYBE we will want to hear your complaint. However until you have done something to help out you have no right to complain.

  26. I am not a community leader, but I do have a voice when it comes to who our leaders are. I do not own a business, however I do vote for whoever I feel are the best leaders to bring valuable business to our community. I only have one voice, but I do try to get people out to the polls to vote, and I will even shuttle them to and from the polls. I am a registered republican but will vote for whom I feel will best serve us here on the shore. This is what I do to help improve our community, because I am handicapped I cannot do a whole lot more. Become informed about your community leaders and if you don't like what is going I challenge you to do something about it....

  27. More fast food crap. Perfect for this dump known as Salisbury. If you can server it on a plastic tray it will sell well in Salisbury!

  28. I love how everyone of you complains about food service jobs. How about you get an education, or trade skill. I can tell you as an employer I cannot find the skilled labor I need around here. I actively recruit from out of town, and state.

If you are skilled labor and can't find a job maybe it's time to leave the area and relocate to an area that is hiring in your field.

Someone felt that Salisbury was a good investment. I have been to a Moe's, its not the best Mexican you have ever had but it ranks up there with Chipolte.

A job is a job for the unskilled labor workforce and they should be happy more are coming to town.
