BREAKING NEWS: Chlorine Leak In Pittsville
Back in September we broke the news that there was a serious chlorine lead in Pittsville.
The Hazmat Team came in from Salisbury and it included two Firefighters from Delmar.
What you DIDN'T know is that the City of Salisbury sent the County a bill for, get this, $14,836.81 for that incident.
So Mayor Ireton, STOP blowing smoke up everyone's A$$ that the County doesn't pay the City for their services. You are completely full of crap and as always, your Main Stream Media never told you about this information because, (once again) they do NO investigative reporting. They simply publish whatever the Mayor tells them or sends them and that's it.
That being said, I made some contacts today and have come to learn that Jim Ireton nor Jake Day have ever made contact with County Executive Bob Culver on this Fire Department issue. Jim and Jake are playing this entire thing out in the Court of Public Opinion, something Jim Ireton accuses me of often and has admitted so in several Press Releases.
Now IF your Main Stream Media had done ANY work on this matter they would have come to learn that the County seems to be the very LAST to know anything about it. In fact, I was told this morning that in EVERY case referencing this matter the County learned about it through Salisbury News, NOT the City or the Mayor's Office.
Finally, I'll add that Mayor Jim Ireton has never once come over to bob Culver's Office since he was elected. Not to congratulate him, not to fill him in on matters like this, NOTHING. It just goes to show you just how bitter and childish Jim Ireton is. Jake Day should also learn to refrain from attacks on the County Executive through Facebook "Like's". People are watching.
As for Carl Anderton, well, Carl better watch his steps as well. I'd strongly suggest that before he does an interview, he might want to go to the horses mouth FIRST before he puts his foot in his mouth again.
And for those of you who asked me if I would be just as hard on the Republicans as I have been on the Democrats all these years, there's my first example.
Ireton is a uneducated bit// and a whiner he has the nerve to possibly run for re erection? ??
ReplyDeleteCarl Anderton is crashing & burning and thinks he is a know it all and he's not even sworn in yet. Hope the other Eastern Shore Delegation members don't follow his lead.
ReplyDeleteSo you know, the SFD was there for THREE hours. That's almost $5,000.00 an hour.
ReplyDeletethe young guns think they are smarter than the rest of us - a little power has gone to their heads. Day, MHolloway, Beauchamp and some others are only the "darlings" of their little group. The rest of the "grown-ups" find them arrogant, obnoxious spoiled brats.
ReplyDelete12:56 you are very right but you left one very I important thing out, two faced is another accurate description for them.
ReplyDeleteReplacements for anything used? Fire service stuff is expensive.
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE to see the break down of that bill and how they came up with 15k for something that took them maybe 3 hours?
ReplyDeleteI may have missed it,but exactly WHO requested response from Delmar and Salisbury for the Pittsville issue? Even if both departments volunteered resources and manpower they had to be notified somehow.Being notified somehow equates to the very same thing as being asked, even if they responded under the guise of free & voluntary assistance. That omission could factor into the billing procedure.
ReplyDelete“Both Departments Volunteered resources” is all good and fine. But when you consider the fact that most of your local volunteers are not required to obtain or refresh any type of training surrounding these types or rare emergencies. You have to consider there are no real checks and balances within our County Government with making sure these departments and their membership hold a standard to assist any kind of emergency beyond an vehicle accident or house fire, which is something along the lines of Fire Fighter 1 or 2. Even most Officers or Board Members hold not much more than that surprisingly. So I can see how it would be necessary to call upon a department with such training to insure the community is under the best possible protections and assistance. If the town you volunteer in holds a chemical plant or hold of any kind, you department should have enough members to handle the care of an unforeseeable accident such as this. I appreciate those Volunteers but they could be doing more than just getting by, especially since our County gives them a check every year. Lets step it up a little.
ReplyDelete12:56 what's your name and in what County department do you work?
ReplyDeleteIf you don't shut your mouth
I find it completely ironic that you would ask for my name while posting yourself as anonymous. I assume you are possibly on of the many members of the “Good Ole Boys Club” I have grown so fond of over the years. (please since the sarcasm) I can also assume you, Anonymous 3:55, may also be one of the many that do not have such training as well. It’s easy to hide behind “Anonymous” when you’re posting treats. As I stated in my previous post, I do not take lightly the time and efforts of a volunteer, I whole heartedly support first responders in every way, but these times they are a changing, and it’s time to catch up. Gone are the days of just getting by. It is unfortunate that it will take a massive event before things are changed.
ReplyDeleteFinally, I just want to say this, like many of you, $14,836.81, is a very large amount of money, but let’s consider this; Does Pittsville have the Hazmat Equipment or Crew needed for this type of event? Furthermore, do we honestly believe the we were over charged? How can you put a price tag on the safety of the lives of our children and townspeople. They came, I am sure prepared for the worst, full speed and it seems that things were taking care of. It ok to ask how things are broken down, but let’s try not to do it in a way that seems so accusatory, hmm
ReplyDeleteAsk Denver's daughter for the money, she can pay the bill. Another Pittsville fiasco that has been swept under the rug. She drives all around with a suspended license and nothing happens. She takes all the town's money and nothing happens. The Town continues to pay for his health insurance and he hangs around all day at town hall. Also sells his crappy used vehicles to the town.
ReplyDeleteOh boy, here we go... the ass that demands standards just like an NFPA bureaucrat that are so far out of the reach of reality that it makes the twilight zone look like a regular day at the office. And oh great.... another one who sits there and cries that "its time to step it up". And do what? Provide a paycheck and overtime to you and a bunch of other shmucks to sit there and do nothing on a normal basis? Don't sit here and act like "its for the good of the county (and the children!)". Most people who demand service in the way such as yourself just want to create jobs for themselves and their cronies. You're no better than what you complain about.
