Pursuit Leads to DUI and Weapon Arrest

Wilmington- Delaware State Police have arrested a Wilmington man after he was found to be in possession of a handgun and driving under the influence of alcohol following a brief vehicle pursuit that occurred early this morning.
The investigation has determined that the incident began this morning, Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at approximately 12:05 a.m. as a Delaware State Trooper on routine patrol observed a Hyundai SUV commit a traffic violation in the area of DE Rt. 2 (Kirkwood Highway) and DE Rt. 7 (Limestone Road), west of Wilmington. As the trooper activated the emergency equipment on his patrol vehicle in an effort to conduct a vehicle stop, the Hyundai, which was found to be operated by Jamil T. Biddle, 22, of Wilmington, fled westbound on Kirkwood Highway. As Biddle reached the intersection of DE Rt. 2 and Green Valley Drive, he made a sudden U-turn and began traveling in an eastbound direction at a high rate of speed. Biddle then turned onto Farrand Drive and into the parking lot of the Farrand Village Apartments, where he was observed tossing an object from his car. Biddle’s vehicle then struck several parked cars in the complex where it came to rest. He then exited the car and fled on foot but was apprehended after a short foot chase. It was later determined that Biddle had tossed a loaded .45 caliber handgun out of is car which was subsequently recovered by troopers. A search of the Hyundai revealed that Jamil Biddle was also in possession of approximately one gram of marijuana.
Jamil Biddle was transported to Troop 6, Prices Corner, where he was arrested and charged with numerous offenses including Possession of a Firearm by a Person Convicted of a Felony, Possession of Ammunition by a Person Prohibited, Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, Possession of Marijuana, and Criminal Mischief. He was arraigned at Justice of the Peace 2 and released on $15,250.00 unsecured bail.

Xylitol Side Effects: Safe or Dangerous?

Are Xylitol Side Effects Safe?

If reading food labels is part of your shopping experience, you’ve probably seen the ingredient “xylitol” coming up and more and more the past couple years. Reported by most manufactures as being “all natural,” few suspect it’s anything but healthy. Unfortunately, natural doesn’t always mean “non-toxic”.
Unfortunately, the reports on the internet have been anything but clear, and people ask me quite regularly about whether xylitol has been proven dangerous or beneficial to our health. So I have researched the xylitol side effects to find out whether it is really safe or not.
In reality, there is no simple answer. And after careful research, I have come to the following conclusion:
Using xylitol may be beneficial for oral health, although it’s not safe for consumption in large amounts.
Why? The key lies in understanding what xylitol is…

The Town of Berlin Contracts with CodeRED to Provide Emergency Notification Services

The Town of Berlin now offers its residents and businesses a new way to stay informed about what’s going on in the Town with the implementation of the CodeRED Emergency Notification System. “The Mayor and Council recognized the need to be able to communicate with our citizens quickly and efficiently,” Mayor Gee Williams explained. “The use of a mass notification system that can deliver messages by phone, email or text all at once and to many people will help us keep our residents, businesses and even visitors informed.”

After requesting proposals from communications vendors throughout the country, the Town selected CodeRED following an extensive and thorough evaluation and review. The CodeRED system is a high-speed emergency notification service provided by Ormond Beach, FL-based Emergency Communications Network. Town staff has been working with CodeRED to train on system use in preparation for use.

Use of the notification system will allow the Town to inform its residents of incidents such as power outages, road closures and other items which may affect the entire Town or specific areas. The Town has provided CodeRED with an initial database of residential and business telephone numbers and addresses, however all residents and business operators with Berlin are encouraged to visit the Town’s website at berlinmd.gov and click on the CodeRED logo to enroll additional contact information including cell phone numbers, text and email addresses, as well as to specify their contact method preferences.

The Federal Reserve Is At The Heart Of The Debt Enslavement System That Dominates Our Lives

From the dawn of history, elites have always attempted to enslave humanity. Yes, there have certainly been times when those in power have slaughtered vast numbers of people, but normally those in power find it much more beneficial to profit from the labor of those that they are able to subjugate. If you are forced to build a pyramid, or pay a third of your crops in tribute, or hand over nearly half of your paycheck in taxes, that enriches those in power at your expense. You become a “human resource” that is being exploited to serve the interests of others. Today, some forms of slavery have been outlawed, but one of the most insidious forms is more pervasive than ever. I

t is called debt, and virtually every major decision of our lives involves more of it. For example, at the very beginning of our adult lives we are pushed to go to college, and Americans have piled up more than 1.2 trillion dollars of student loan debt at this point.

When we buy homes, most Americans get mortgages that they can barely afford, and when we buy vehicles most Americans now stretch their loans out over five or six years. When we get married, that often means even more debt. And of course no society on Earth has ever piled up more credit card debt than we have. Almost all of us are in bondage to debt at this point, and as we slowly pay off that debt over the years we will greatly enrich the elitists that tricked us into going into so much debt in the first place. At the apex of this debt enslavement system is the Federal Reserve. As you will see below, it is an institution that is designed to produce as much debt as possible.

BUCKLE UP BEFORE YOU HIT THE ROAD THIS THANKSGIVING

The Ocean City Police Department is joining a national effort to reach out to all Thanksgiving travelers with one important message: buckle up. Historically, Thanksgiving is the busiest travel time of the year, putting more people on the road, and unfortunately increasing the likelihood of crashes. AAA is expecting Thanksgiving holiday travel to reach the highest level since 2007 with 46.3 million Americans taking a trip this week. Each of the millions of holiday travelers can stay safe this Thanksgiving with just one simple click of a seat belt.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) estimates that proper seat belt use reduces the risk of fatal injury to front seat passengers by 45 percent, and the risk of moderate to serious injury by 50 percent.  In 2012, approximately 12,174 people survived crashes because they were buckled up. If everyone had worn their seat belts that year, an additional 3,031 lives could have been saved. And that’s just the point of this national seat belt campaign: Buckle Up America – Every Trip, Every Time.
“More than half the drivers and passengers being killed in crashes aren’t wearing seat belts. That’s a major problem,” said Lt. Scott Harner, Commander of OCPD’s Traffic Safety Unit. In 2012, a total of 21,667 passenger vehicle occupants were killed in crashes nationwide, so that means that more than 10,000 of those occupants were not buckled up. Thanksgiving weekend in 2012 (6 p.m. Wednesday, November 21, to 5:59 a.m. Monday, November 26), a disturbing 60 percent—that is, 6 out of 10—of the passenger vehicle occupants killed in crashes were not wearing seat belts. At night, the statistic was even worse: 69 percent of the occupants killed at night were unbuckled.
“For those people who already buckle up every time: Thank you,” continued Lt. Harner. “For them, this campaign serves as a reminder. But for those people who still don’t buckle up for whatever reason, I want to say this: buckling your seat belt is one of the simplest, safest things you’ll ever do.”
So this Thanksgiving, and every day of the year, make sure your seat belt is buckled before you start any road trip—whether it’s one mile or a thousand.

Defeat of NSA Bill a Victory for Freedom’

It will not shock readers to hear that quite often legislation on Capitol Hill is not as advertised. When Congress wants to do something particularly objectionable, they tend give it a fine-sounding name. The PATRIOT Act is perhaps the best-known example. The legislation had been drafted well before 9/11 but was going nowhere. Then the 9/11 attacks gave it a new lease on life. Politicians exploited the surge in patriotism following the attack to reintroduce the bill and call it the PATRIOT Act. To oppose it at that time was, by design, to seem unpatriotic.

At the time, 62 Democrats voted against the Act. On the Republican side there were only three no votes: former Rep. Bob Ney (R-OH), former Rep. Butch Otter (R-ID), and myself.

The abuses of the Constitution in the PATRIOT Act do not need to be fully recounted here, but Presidents Bush and Obama both claimed authority based on it to gut the Fourth Amendment. The PATRIOT Act ushered in the era of warrantless wiretapping, monitoring of our Internet behavior, watering down of probable cause, and much more. After the revelations by whistleblower Edward Snowden, we know how the NSA viewed constitutional restraints on surveillance of American people during the PATRIOT Act period.

Is your technology killing you?

As a New York surgeon detects a new phenomenon known as 'text-neck' syndrome, we take a look at some of the other technology-induced health risks

Like it or loathe it, technology is something we cannot live without. From the moment we wake up in the morning (the customised ring of a smart phone’s alarm) until the moment we go to bed at night (a final check of emails), technology is an integral part of modern life.

But just how detrimental is this for our health? We take a look at some of the risks, and how to avoid them.

1. "Text-neck" syndrome

Bending your head down to look at your phone can have serious consequences for your spine, according to a new study.

Kenneth Hansraj, the chief of spine surgery at New York Spine Surgery and Rehabilitation Medicine, has found that the increased stress on your spine could lead to “early wear, tear, degeneration and possibly surgeries”.

Convicted Peeping Tom Re-arrested For Molesting Family Dog, Still Employed By MCPS

ROCKVILLE, Md. (WJLA) – Parents want to know why a convicted peeping Tom, now facing charges of animal sexual abuse, remains employed by Montgomery County Public Schools.

Last November, Montgomery County Police arrested Joshua Greenberg, 29, of Montgomery Village, for spying on teenage girls as they changed in a locker room at Herbert Hoover Middle School in Potomac. Greenberg, who was a janitor at the school, entered a physical education office where he peered through a window with blinds. A group of half-clothed girls saw Greenberg's furtive glances and immediately notified school leaders. Upon reviewing school surveillance cameras, detectives saw the 29-year-old entering the private office around the time of the incident.

During police questioning, Greenberg fessed up to the crime and admitted he was "sexually aroused [and] attracted while watching the victims change."

America’s Next Top Turkey: Vote for the 2014 National Thanksgiving Turkey

On Wednesday, November 26th, President Obama will announce the National Thanksgiving Turkey and, once again, we’re inviting the American people to decide which bird takes the title.

Since at least the 19th century, Americans have been sending turkeys to the President for the holidays. As part of a more recent tradition that began in 2012, the National Thanksgiving Turkey will be chosen by the public through an online vote. This year’s top turkeys, Mac and Cheese, are going beak-to-beak on Twitter -- and it's up to you to decide who will be America's next top turkey.

Mac and Cheese flock from Cooper Farms in Oakwood, Ohio. Mac's got a grand champion style strut and his gobble has a country ring to it. Cheese is a feather-shaker with a rhythmic gobble that loves to cheese it up for the the cameras.

Which turkey has what it takes?

The Tragedy Of Propping Up The Matrix Of Lies

Wall Street is only one of several financial roach motels in what has become a giant slum of a global economy. Notional “money” scuttles in for safety and nourishment, but may never get out alive. Tom Friedman of The New York Times really put one over on the soft-headed American public when he declared in a string of books that the global economy was a permanent installation in the human condition. What we’re seeing “out there” these days is the basic operating system of that economy trying to shake itself to pieces.

The reason it has to try so hard is that the various players in the global economy game have constructed an armature of falsehood to hold it in place — for instance the pipeline of central bank “liquidity” creation that pretends to be capital propping up markets. It would be most accurate to call it fake wealth. It is not liquid at all but rather gaseous, and that is why it tends to blow “bubbles” in the places to which it flows. When the bubbles pop, the gas will tend to escape quickly and dramatically, and the ground will be littered with the pathetic broken balloons of so many hopes and dreams.

All of this mighty, tragic effort to prop up a matrix of lies might have gone into a set of activities aimed at preserving the project of remaining civilized. But that would have required the dismantling of rackets such as agri-business, big-box commerce, the medical-hostage game, the Happy Motoring channel-stuffing scam, the suburban sprawl “industry,” and the higher ed loan swindle. All of these evil systems have to go and must be replaced by more straightforward and honest endeavors aimed at growing food, doing trade, healing people, traveling, building places worth living in, and learning useful things.

Fatal Accident Probe Finds Trooper’s Speeding Not ‘A Contributing Factor’

BERLIN – Nov. 8 marked the one-year anniversary of 16-year-old Tymeir Dennis’ death.

Time hasn’t yet eased the pain for his family.

“I look around my house and I can just see him here,” said Roxie Dennis, Tymeir’s great aunt. “I just can’t believe it.”

More than a year after the teenager was struck and killed by a Maryland State Trooper while crossing Route 113 in Berlin, Dennis says her family still has questions about what happened that night.

Berlin resident Gabe Purnell says the community as a whole is still struggling with the event and the lengthy Maryland State Police investigation that followed.

COLD WINTER PREDICTED

Late fall and the Indians on a remote reservation in
North Dakota asked their new chief if the coming winter was going to be cold or mild.

Since he was a chief in a modern society, he had never been taught the old secrets. When he looked at the sky, he couldn't tell what the winter was going to be like.

Nevertheless, to be on the safe side, he told his tribe that the winter was indeed going to be cold and that the members of the village should collect firewood to be prepared.

But, being a practical leader, after several days, he got an idea. He went to the phone booth, called the National Weather Service and asked, “Is the coming winter going to be cold?”

“It looks like this winter is going to be quite cold”, the meteorologist at the weather service responded.

So the chief went back to his people and told them to collect even more firewood in order to be prepared.

A week later, he called the National Weather Service again, “Does it still look like it is going to be a very cold winter?”

“Yes”, the man at National Weather Service again replied, “it's going to be a very cold winter.”

The chief again went back to his people and ordered them to collect every scrap of firewood they could find.

Two weeks later, the chief called the National Weather Service again. “Are you absolutely sure that the winter is going to be very cold?”

“Absolutely”, the man replied. “It's looking more and more like it is going to be one of the coldest winters we've ever seen.”

“How can you be so sure?” the chief asked.

The weatherman replied, “The Indians are collecting a massive amount of firewood!!!!!!!"

THE CHICKEN GUN

The true story of the Chicken Gun. Too funny not to share!
Sometimes it does take a rocket scientist!

Scientists at NASA built a gun specifically to launch standard 4 pound dead chickens at the windshields of airliners, military jets and the space shuttle, all traveling at maximum velocity. The idea is to simulate the frequent incidents of collisions with airborne fowl to test the strength of the windshields.

British engineers heard about the gun and were eager to test it on the
windshields of their new high speed trains. Arrangements were made, and a gun was sent to the British engineers.

WHEN THE GUN WAS FIRED, THE ENGINEERS STOOD SHOCKED AS THE CHICKEN HURLED OUT OF THE BARREL, CRASHED INTO THE SHATTERPROOF SHIELD, SMASHED IT TO SMITHEREENS, BLASTED THROUGH THE CONTROL CONSOLE, SNAPPED THE ENGINEER'S BACK-REST IN TWO, AND EMBEDDED ITSELF IN THE BACK WALL OF THE CABIN, LIKE AN ARROW SHOT FROM A BOW.

THE HORRIFIED BRITS SENT NASA THE DISASTROUS RESULTS OF THE EXPERIMENT, ALONG WITH THE DESIGNS OF THE WINDSHIELD AND BEGGED THE U.S
SCIENTISTS FOR SUGGESTIONS.

NASA RESPONDED WITH A ONE-LINE MEMO -- "DEFROST THE CHICKEN."

Climatologist: 'Dramatic Drop' in Global Temperatures Coming

While all the buzz about global warming has dominated headlines over recent years, the real issue is global cooling, something that will plague the earth for the next 30 years, author and climatologist John Casey said Friday on Newsmax TV's “America’s Forum.”

“It's going to be dangerously cold, as certainly as it was in 1793-1830,” Casey said. “Right after the formation of our country, we had a disastrous cold climate on the planet and it's coming back around.”

How Government Officials are Using Bank Regulations to Shutdown Industries

Lew Rockwell, in his important book, Fascism versus Capitalism, argues that the United States rather than having a capitalist economy, at its core has a fascist economy:

The state, for the fascist, is the instrument by which the people’s common destiny is realized, and which the potential for greatness is to be found. Individual rights, and the individual himself, are strictly subordinate to the state’s great and glorious goals for the nation.

In Rockwell’s view, via fascism, although the means of production are technically owned by the private sector, the rules are set for much of the economy by the government:

The reality of bureaucratic administration has been with us at least since the New Deal, which was modeled on the planning bureaucracy that lived in World War I. The planned economy — whether in Mussolini’s time or ours — requires bureaucracy. Bureaucracy is the heart, lungs, and veins of the planning state. And yet to regulate an economy as thoroughly as this one is today is to kill prosperity with a billion tiny cuts.

White House Releases Plan 3,415 Regulations Thanksgiving

While Americans are focused on what delicious foods they’re going to eat for Thanksgiving, the White House is focused on releasing its massive regulatory agenda — marking the fifth time the Obama administration has released its regulatory road map on the eve of a major holiday.

The federal Unified Agenda is the Obama administration’s regulatory road map, and it lays out thousands of regulations being finalized in the coming months. Under President Barack Obama, there has been a tradition of releasing the agenda late on Friday — and right before a major holiday.

“It’s become an unfortunate tradition of this administration and others to drop these regulatory agendas late on a Friday and right before a holiday,”Matt Shudtz, executive director of the Center for Progressive Reform, told The Hill newspaper.

The White House’s regulatory agenda for spring 2014 was released on the eve of the Memorial Day weekend, when millions of people set out on weekend getaways or family vacations.

“It’s unfortunate because it’s an update on protections for Americans of all stripes,” Shudtz told the Hill. “It lays out the administration’s plan and it deserves more attention.”

If history repeats itself, Cosby’s legacy will be fine and his accusers forgotten

If there is anything the internet loves to do, it is offer its opinion on what qualifies someone as a “real” rape victim.

“Real” rape victims, of course, always immediately report their rapes to the police, who are always extremely helpful and non-judgmental Olivia Benson-types. Their attackers–who can be clearly identified as bad-seeming people–have defensive wounds because the victim fought and fought to preserve her chastity–which was ideally perfectly intact prior to the incident. They were sober, of course.

If they don’t come forward to identify themselves, it’s because they’re hiding something, if they do, it’s because they want attention, delicious attention. And probably the imagined fabulous riches and major career boost that comes with outing oneself as a victim of rape. If only one victim comes forward it’s “well, if he was such a rapist, he probably wouldn’t have only raped that one woman.” If one victim comes out and then several others do, they’re just all making shit up in hopes of riding that sweet rape train to stardom.

It’s funny how people immediately assumed Janice Dickinson was lying. Janice Dickinson is a woman who has essentially built her reputation and personal identity on on being a bad-ass bitch. To come forward as a rape victim is to come forward as vulnerable–which is one of the hardest things about it. Think about that for a second. Do you think this is something she is enjoying?

The ‘Truly Frightening’ Thing a Texas Teacher Allegedly Told One Mother

Cassidy Vines was so horrified by what a teacher in Texas allegedly told her that she is planning on home-schooling her daughter after Christmas break.

Vines told Glenn Beck on Monday that she recently began noticing a change in her daughter’s behavior. Her daughter — who is in kindergarten — started to “snap” at her when she corrected her homework, saying “I’m her mommy, not her teacher.”

Vines said a few days after her daughter first snapped at her, she started pronouncing a word incorrectly. Vines corrected her daughter “in the most gentle way possible,” but she said her daughter broke down crying, saying “that’s how she was taught, and I can’t tell her something different because I’m a mommy, not a teacher.”

Vines said she was horrified and asked, “Is somebody telling you this at school?”

“She said, ‘Yes, I’m only allowed to learn from my teacher,’” Vines remarked.

Prosecutor says ticket quota derailed cases against officers

State charges were dropped this year because evidence shows the city was using an illegal quota system

As the threat of federal charges looms over eight former Fort Worth police officers accused in a traffic ticket scandal, a Tarrant County prosecutor revealed that state charges were dropped this year because evidence shows the city was using an illegal quota system.

The officers were working under a grant program in conjunction with the Texas Department of Transportation. And prosecutors and defense attorneys say it’s clear that a quota system was in place, though officials with the Transportation Department and the Police Department insist that was not the case.

The officers had been charged with falsifying traffic citations to justify thousands of dollars of overtime pay from the Selective Traffic Enforcement Program grant, or STEP.

Tarrant County prosecutor David Lobingier said he recommended dismissing the charges because ethically he could not prosecute the officers for violating one law when the city had been requiring them to violate another.

San Francisco Passes First-In-Nation Limits On Worker Schedules

San Francisco is now the country’s first jurisdiction to limit how chain stores can alter their employees’ schedules.

Other states and cities are considering similar statutory restraints. Work scheduling rules are therefore poised to follow localized minimum wage increases and paid leave mandates as the newest instance of state and local government stepping in to fill the void left by the decades-long decline of private-sector labor unions.

Meet your new union reps: the statehouse and City Hall.

San Francisco’s new law, which its Board of Supervisors passed Tuesday by unanimous vote, will require any “formula retailer” (retail chain) with 20 or more locations worldwide that employs 20 or more people within the city to provide two weeks’ advance notice for any change in a worker’s schedule. An employer that alters working hours without two weeks’ notice — or fails to notify workers two weeks ahead of time that their schedules won’t change — will be required to provide additional “predictability pay.“ Property service contractors that provide janitorial or security services for these retailers will also need to abide by the new rule.
