TV's Judge Joe Brown Jailed By Real Judge After Courtroom Argument, Court Says

TV's Judge Joe Brown was jailed on a contempt of court charge issued by a Tennessee juvenile judge Monday, according to a court spokesman.

Brown, 66, was sentenced to five days in jail after he became "pretty raucous" and "challenged the authority" of Magistrate Harold Horne, another judge told CNN. He was later released on his own recognizance, CNN Memphis affiliate WMC-TV reported, citing the Shelby County Sheriff's Office.

Brown, a former Shelby County criminal judge, was in court to represent a client in a child-support case. He apparently became upset when he was told the case was not on the afternoon docket, Chief Magistrate Dan Michael said.

These States Have More Registered Voters Than Eligible Adults…What One Group Wants to Do About It

Iowa and Colorado, typically battleground states in presidential and congressional campaigns, each have more registered voters than they have adults over the age of 18 living in the state, according to a conservative watchdog group’s analysis.

The same is true of Washington, D.C., which is set to hold a primary in its mayoral election next week.

Judicial Watch is threatening legal action against the two states and the nation’s capital if immediate steps aren’t taken to clear the voter rolls of dead voters, voters who have moved away or voters that that have become ineligible for other reasons.

Navy database tracks civilians' parking tickets, fender-benders, raising fears of domestic spying

A parking ticket, traffic citation or involvement in a minor fender-bender are enough to get a person's name and other personal information logged into a massive, obscure federal database run by the U.S. military.

The Law Enforcement Information Exchange, or LinX, has already amassed 506.3 million law enforcement records ranging from criminal histories and arrest reports to field information cards filled out by cops on the beat even when no crime has occurred.

10,000 Schoolgirls' Victims Of U.K. Sex Gangs

Under pressure from political correctness, authorities have allowed Muslim pedophile gangs in the United Kingdom to groom underage girls for sexual abuse for decades, victimizing as many as 10,000 schoolgirls, according to a report by an organization calling for an investigation.

“What we believe is required is a full-scale public inquiry,” the Law and Freedom Foundation said in the conclusion of its 300-plus page report, “Easy Meat: Multiculturalism, Islam and Child Sex Slavery.”

The group said the public inquiry “must look into the failures of national agencies, child-care charities, and academics to study this problem.”

PA State Senator Charged With Using Taxpayer Money For Fundraising

Throughout her time in office, Pennsylvania state senator LeAnna Washington has made it a priority to help constituents manage the stress and confusion of tax season by offering tax preparation seminars. She has regularly partnered with local accountants to bring free tax preparation services to those that attended her seminars. While Senator Washington made an effort to assist in her constituents in paying taxes, she also apparently had a penchant for using taxpayer dollars for personal gain.

This week, Mainline Media News reported that state senator LeAnna Washington has been charged with two felonies for her role in allegedly pressuring staff into performing political activities using taxpayer dollars. She is charged with theft of services, a third-degree felony, and a conflict of interest violation under the Public Official and Employee Ethics Act, also a felony. The total maximum prison time for both charges is twelve years and the total maximum fine of $15,000.

A Very Happy Ending!

On March 20th SBYNEWS posted about 2 missing dogs in the Berlin area.
This story was posted on the Facebook page of LostPetsPR.
It is a long story with a very happy ending. You can see the pictures by clicking HERE.  Great Job to all those involved in bringing these 2 dogs home! Enjoy!

Here is the story of today's recovery of Chika and Chief. This isn't the best photo but I chose it because it shows the scale of what we were dealing with. When you stood where I was in this shot, you can't even see the dogs.....and the house in the background is on the other side of the field so that give you an idea of how large this area was.

Saturday, 3.22.14

The two German Shepherds were still missing early this morning when I went to meet up with the owners. We talked about what to do and felt a facebook page would be good for centralized updates on Chief and Chika. I left Berlin around 8:30am and headed home; took our dogs out and sat down at the computer to type one line....before Michael called to say they had found them. When he said they were lying together in the center of a large field and that they weren't moving around my heart sank. All I could think was that one of them had been badly injured and couldn't move. We talked briefly about gathering people together to form a band around the field and that we needed to hurry.

TOP 10 JOBS THAT ATTRACT MOST PSYCHOPATHS

Would you believe civil servants, TV and radio people make list?

In today’s turbulent world, many people may wonder if the person with whom they work just might be the next psychopath to make news headlines.

According to the author of a new book, there are actually some professions that attract psychopaths more than others, and civil servants (including politicians), lawyers and TV and radio people are among those ranking very high.

Psychologist Kevin Dutton, author of “The Wisdom of Psychopaths: What Saints, Spies, and Serial Killers Can Teach Us About Success,” has created a top 10 list for the most attractive and least attractive professions for psychopaths.

Gun Control Measures Met With Defiance From Law Enforcement Officers

The head of a nationwide sheriffs coalition is calling on Vermont's law enforcement officers to defy three controversial gun control measures passed by Burlington voters three weeks ago.

"Sheriffs have a constitutional duty to refuse to comply with such ordinances," said Richard Mack, president of the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association. "We're seeing sheriffs in New York oppose the Safe Act and Gov. Cuomo. If we have sheriffs in New York doing this, how much more should we have sheriffs doing it in Vermont?"

On March 4, Burlington voters joined a push by elected officials throughout northeastern states to enact stiffer gun control measures. By a 2-to-1 margin, they banned the carry of firearms in bars and restaurants, authorized police to confiscate guns during domestic disputes and required gun owners to keep firearms locked up at home.

Do you have Barack's back, Joe?

From Michelle Obama
To Joe Albero alberobutzo@wmconnect.com

Joe -- Four years ago today, Barack signed the Affordable Care Act into law.

Since then, millions of people have signed up for quality, affordable health care -- in many cases for the first time. Today, young people can stay on their parents' health care while they pursue their dreams, 129 million Americans with pre-existing conditions are newly protected against discrimination, lifetime caps on coverage are a thing of the past; and the rate of uninsured Americans has steadily dropped.

All of this happened because of you -- and I hope you'll take a moment to be proud of everything you achieved.

Did you take a moment? Good. Now we've got to get back to work, because we're not done yet.

Chip in $3 or more today to protect Obamacare and help elect candidates who will support it:

Thanks, Michelle

P.S. -- Barack needs your help today every bit as much as he needed your help four years ago.

FEMINIST PROFESSOR WHO ATTACKED PRO-LIFE STUDENT CHARGED WITH CRIMINAL BATTERY

The University of California-Santa Barbara professor who allegedly assaulted a pro-life student on campus has been charged with criminal battery.

The College Fix reported on March 12 that department of feminist studies professor Mireille Miller-Young, whose research emphasis is black studies, pornography, and sex work, had been caught on camera assaulting a 16-year-old student, Thrin Short.

Miller-Young led a small mob that approached a group of pro-life demonstrators who were holding signs. The mob chanted “tear down the sign.” Miller-Young then grabbed one of the signs and stormed off with it, eventually engaging in a physical altercation with 16-year-old Short, one of the pro-life demonstrators, when Short tried to retrieve the stolen sign.

The confrontation took place in the university’s designated “free speech area.”

To the People of New Jersey

On Tuesday, under pressure from the New Jersey auto dealer lobby to protect its monopoly, the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission, composed of political appointees of the Governor, ended your right to purchase vehicles at a manufacturer store within the state. Governor Christie had promised that this would be put to a vote of the elected state legislature, which is the appropriate way to change the law. When it became apparent to the auto dealer lobby that this approach would not succeed, they cut a backroom deal with the Governor to circumvent the legislative process and pass a regulation that is fundamentally contrary to the intent of the law.

It is worth examining the history of these laws to understand why they exist, as the auto dealer franchise laws were originally put in place for a just cause and are now being twisted to an unjust purpose. Many decades ago, the incumbent auto manufacturers sold franchises to generate capital and gain a salesforce. The franchisees then further invested a lot of their money and time in building up the dealerships. That’s a fair deal and it should not be broken. However, some of the big auto companies later engaged in pressure tactics to get the franchisees to sell their dealerships back at a low price. The franchisees rightly sought protection from their state legislatures, which resulted in the laws on the books today throughout the United States (these laws are not present anywhere else in the world).

A Letter To The Editor: Bennett Middle School

Wasn't sure if you were aware but my daughter called today to ask me to bring her a jacket as she was cold. I didn't rush over since she needed to learn to be more responsible. However at lunch time when my husband went to take her a sweat shirt, he was informed the boilers were down and there was no heat. I personally have not verified but I have not received any messages from the school in regards to this. Personally they call and excuse an absence due to weather over 80 some degrees for heat exposure, but nothing due to no heat in the school?

IRS employs former cop convicted of FBI snooping

The Internal Revenue Service, already facing accusations that its workers improperly snooped through tax files, has hired a former police officer convicted just a few years ago of illegally accessing FBI records and providing information to a subject of a counterterrorism investigation involving an infamous al Qaeda figure.

Mohammad Weiss Rasool, or Weiss Russell as he is known at the IRS, was sentenced to two years of probation in 2008 after pleading guilty in federal court to illegally accessing the FBI's National Crime Information Center database to run license tag numbers for a friend he thought was being followed. That friend, it turned out, was the subject of an undercover FBIoperation and a close associate of the al Qaeda-linked cleric Anwar al-Awlaki, the American Islamist militant who preached to three of the 9/11 hijackers and inspired the Fort Hood shootings, according to court records and interviews.

Teacher’s Resignation Letter After 25 Years Describes ‘Disturbing Era’ in Public Schools

Susan Sluyter has been a teacher for more than two decades. One can imagine that she’s seen and adjusted to her fair share of change within the educational system during her 25 years in the field, but the more recent shift in requirements was so dramatic that she resigned last month.

“In this disturbing era of testing and data collection in the public schools, I have seen my career transformed into a job that no longer fits my understanding of how children learn and what a teacher ought to do in the classroom to build a healthy, safe, developmentally appropriate environment for learning for each of our children,” Sluyter wrote in her resignation letter to the Cambridge Public School District in Massachusetts in February.

Supreme Court To Weigh Religious Rights Of Corporations vs. Obamacare’s ‘Contraception Mandate’

Obamacare is on the docket Tuesday in one of the biggest religious freedom cases to hit the Supreme Court in years, as the justices hear from corporate owners who say their personal beliefs should trump a government mandate that requires their company health care plans to insure birth control.

From the start, everyone involved in the dispute over the Obama administration’s “contraception mandate” seemed to realize the issue would end up before the high court. The politically loaded saga prompted dozens of lawsuits, split the appeals courts and raised questions about whether a secular, for-profit company could exercise religious rights.

The cases before the court deal with the for-profit camp of plaintiffs. Unlike nonprofit employers, for-profit companies have not been given any relief from the mandate and say they are presented with an impossible choice: either violate their beliefs or pay crippling fines for flouting the mandate.

Cops or Soldiers?? Or Psychopaths?

America’s police have become too militarised

FROM the way police entered the house—helmeted and masked, guns drawn and shields in front, knocking down the door with a battering ram and rushing inside—you might think they were raiding a den of armed criminals. In fact they were looking for $1,000-worth of clothes and electronics allegedly bought with a stolen credit card. They found none of these things, but arrested two people in the house on unrelated charges.

They narrowly avoided tragedy. On hearing intruders break in, the homeowner’s son, a disabled ex-serviceman, reached for his (legal) gun. Luckily, he heard the police announce themselves and holstered it; otherwise, “they probably would have shot me,” he says. His mother, Sally Prince, says she is now traumatised.

Obamacare brings big fees for drugs: ‘Where’s the affordable with this one?’

MIAMI — Breast cancer survivor Ginny Mason was thrilled to get health coverage under the Affordable Care Act despite her pre-existing condition. But when she realized her arthritis medication fell under a particularly costly tier of her plan, she was forced to switch to another brand.

Under the plan, her Celebrex would have cost $648 a month until she met her $1,500 prescription deductible, followed by an $85 monthly co-pay.

Mason is one of the many Americans with serious illnesses — including cancer, multiple sclerosis and rheumatoid arthritis — who are indeed finding relatively low monthly premiums under President Obama’s law. But some have been shocked at how much their prescriptions are costing as insurers are sorting drug prices into a complex tier system and in some cases charging co-insurance rates as high as 50 percent. That can leave patients on the hook for thousands.

“I was grateful for the Affordable Care Act because it didn’t turn me down but … it’s like where’s the affordable on this one,” said Mason, a 61-year-old from West Lafayette, Indiana who currently pays an $800 monthly premium.

Before the federal health law took effect, Mason paid slightly more for her monthly premium on a plan that didn’t cover her arthritis or pain medications and some routine doctor’s visits.

Md. Residents Facing Higher Flood Insurance Rates

FEDERALSBURG, Md. (AP) -- Changes in the federal flood insurance program are likely to mean higher premiums for thousands Maryland residents, and not just those living in Ocean City or along the Chesapeake Bay.

But discounted premiums and catastrophic storms in recent years have left the National Flood Insurance Program deeply in debt, prompting Congress to pass a law two years ago requiring policyholders to start paying rates based on their true risk of flooding.

Democrats Steal Tea Party Symbol to Promote Obamacare

So desperate that they're adopting the Tea Party's beloved symbol, the Gadsden "Don't Tread on Me" flag, to sell it, as per this tweet by Democrat strategist Christine Pelosi (yes, that Pelosi family). The flag is a national symbol, of course, but Democrats have spent the last several years describing it as some kind of latter-day version of the Confederate battle flag, or worse.

Rascovar: Is A Higher Minimum Wage Counter-Productive?

Since it’s an election year, Democratic politicians in Annapolis are eager to pass an increase in the minimum wage. Gov. Martin O’Malley is poised to promote a higher minimum wage law in Maryland as part of his incipient campaign for national office.

But is it a good idea? Will there be unintended consequences in the form of job reductions?

That could well be the case, based on a recent Texas A&M economic study. It’s also the findings of a February study by the Congressional Budget Office.

Bottom Line: A jump in the minimum wage by 10% (Maryland’s proposal is 13% in year one and a cumulative 39% over three years) will have a significant negative impact on future job hiring.

The nonpartisan CBO forecasts that a federal hike in the minimum wage from $7.25 an hour to $10.10 an hour could mean a likely loss of 500,000 jobs nationwide, although there’s a chance the job loss could hit one million.

Instead, she'd been classified as an outpatient under "observation" — a status that would cost her thousands of dollars.

Ron Paul: 'We're in a Revolutionary Stage'

(CNSNews.com) - As government gets bigger, it strays further from its central mission of protecting Americans' liberty, former Texas congressman and presidential hopeful Ron Paul told Fox News's Neil Cavuto on Wednesday.

"[E]ventually, we will have to wake up and decide what the role of government ought to be in this country," Paul said. Right now, he said the government uses the excuse of "fairness" or "safety" to take care of people -- believing that "people aren't smart enough to do this.

"So, we have accepted as a nation a role for government which was never intended by our Constitution and was never intended in a free society. So, in a way, we're in a revolutionary stage," Paul said.

State Legislatures See Rise In Bills Targeting Common Core

State legislatures will double their efforts this year to change, slow down or outright repeal Common Core, the new standards-based education curriculum that 45 states and the District of Columbia began adopting in 2010.

Several bills working their way through the Maryland General Assembly this session are part of this trend.

In 2013 and in 2012, 20% of Common Core related bills in other states sought to change the controversial curriculum. This year that number will rise to 40%, said Daniel Thatcher, an education analyst with the National Conference of State Legislatures (NASC) who is studying the issue.

New Executive Order: “Obama Has Just Given Himself the Authority to Seize Your Assets”

On Monday the U.S. government took steps to seize the US-based assets of Russian lawmakers and anyone else that the US government deemed complicit in supporting the Crimean secession movement.

We’ve seen the U.S. government do this in countless cases surrounding drug and financial crimes, and sometimes even against foreign leaders like Saddam Hussein and Manuel Noriega.

What makes this particular instance so unprecedented and terrifying is that President Obama went so far as to issue a new Executive Order to give himself the authorization to do so, because the laws of the United States are such that our government is not allowed to simply take someone’s bank assets, home or business without due process.

Here’s the kicker.

Flashback: Obamacare Is 'Largest Legislative Transfer of Power to the Executive Branch' in History

(Editor's note: On Sunday, March 21, 2010, exactly four years ago today, Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives passed the complicated legislation that established what came to be known as Obamacare. The vote was 219 to 212 to approve the measure, with every Republican voting no. Before the vote, Democrats hailed the "historic" moment, while Republicans warned their colleagues of disastrous consequences. Below are snippets from the Republican opposition, as recorded in the Congressional Record for March 21, 2010.)

(CNSNews.com) - "My heart is heavy with grief tonight at this turning point for the nation," then-Rep. Geoff Davis (R-Ky.) said in remarks on the House floor four years ago today, as the U.S. House of Representatives prepared to end debate and pass the lenthy, complicated legislation that established Obamacare.

"This vote will define the America we will have in the future: massive tax burdens, rationed care, and intrusive bureaucracy," Davis continued.

"Democrats are thwarting the will of the American people, taking them on a headlong rush toward socialism. This is based on a false premise that every need a person could have on Earth can be met by government. Had Enough of ObamaCare: You Ain’t Heard Nothin’ Yet!

With all the spin, fallacies, half-truths, and a few facts thrown in regarding the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, aka ObamaCare, readers probably have not heard some of the more egregious stories making the rounds.

Before I’m castigated for not liking ObamaCare, let me say that back in the 1980s and ‘90s I was working for affordable and effective healthcare for everyone in the USA, long before Mr. Obama came on the political scene. Anyone with half a brain understood, even back then, that we needed healthcare reform, but not healthcare destruction!

The number one issue I have with ObamaCare is how it was passed into law. I contend it was passed under duress, i.e., Nancy Pelosi’s “We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what’s in it.” That’s downright ILLEGAL! Why did Congress fall for such arm twisting, ploy, and deceit? When parties don’t know the full facts, or information is kept from them during negotiations, according to contract law that contract is not valid and is non-negotiable. On that fact alone, the U.S. Supreme Court should have ‘displayed’ certain parts of the male anatomy to reject ObamaCare when it came up before it, instead of reclassifying it as a “tax.” SCOTUS’s ruling is something that many legal minds question. Petrodollar Alert: Putin Prepares To Announce "Holy Grail" Gas Deal With China

If it was the intent of the West to bring Russia and China together - one a natural resource (if "somewhat" corrupt) superpower and the other a fixed capital / labor output (if "somewhat" capital misallocating and credit bubbleicious) powerhouse - in the process marginalizing the dollar and encouraging Ruble and Renminbi bilateral trade, then things are surely "going according to plan."

For now there have been no major developments as a result of the shift in the geopolitical axis that has seen global US influence, away from the Group of 7 (most insolvent nations) of course, decline precipitously in the aftermath of the bungled Syrian intervention attempt and the bloodless Russian annexation of Crimea, but that will soon change. Because while the west is focused on day to day developments in Ukraine, and how to halt Russian expansion through appeasement (hardly a winning tactic as events in the 1930s demonstrated), Russia is once again thinking 3 steps ahead... and quite a few steps east.

Study Shows That Coconut Oil Can Help Reduce Belly Fat

While the “superfood” label is often overused in natural health circles, most researchers will admit that coconut oil deserves it. This edible oil, which is produced from the flesh of coconuts, has been shown to possess amazing antiviral, antifungal, and antibacterial properties, improve blood cholesterol levels, boost energy, and much more. However, a peer-reviewed Brazilian studyhas also found that consuming just 30 milliliters (1 ounce) of coconut oil a day can help treat abdominal obesity – providing yet more evidence that healthy saturated fats are essential for long-term weight loss.

For the study, which was published in the medical journal Lipids, the researchers assembled 40 female volunteers between the ages of 20 and 40 who suffered from abdominal obesity. Over a 12-week period, the women were given 30 milliliters of either soybean oil or coconut oil on a daily basis. During this time, the volunteers were instructed to follow their regular diet and walk for 50 minutes per day. At the end of the 12-week period, the researchers found that the women who were given the coconut oil experienced a significant reduction in both BMI and waist circumference, as well as an increase in “good” HDL cholesterol. These results were not found in the group that was given soybean oil.

Special Report

"Putting things in perspective: March 21st 2010 to October 1 2013 is 3 years, 6 months, 10 days. December 7, 1941 to May 8, 1945 is 3 years, 5 months, 1 day. What this means is that in the time we were attacked at Pearl Harbor to the day Germany surrendered is not enough time for this progressive federal government to build a working webpage. Mobilization of millions, building tens of thousands of tanks, planes, jeeps, subs, cruisers, destroyers, torpedoes, millions upon millions of guns, bombs, ammo, etc. Turning the tide in North Africa, Invading Italy, D-Day, Battle of the Bulge, Race to Berlin - all while we were also fighting the Japanese in the Pacific!! And in that amount of time - this administration can't build a working webpage."

Islamic law to be enshrined in British law as solicitors get guidelines on 'Sharia compliant' wills

Islamic law is to be effectively enshrined in the British legal system for the first time under guidelines for solicitors on drawing up “Sharia compliant” wills.

Under guidance produced by The Law Society, High Street solicitors will be able to compose Islamic wills that refuse women an equal share of inheritances and discount non-believers entirely, theSunday Telegraph reported.

The recommendations can also prevent illegitimate children, as well as those who have been adopted, from being included in an inheritance.

Nicholas Fluck, president of The Law Society told the newspaper that the document, which would be recognised by Britain’s courts, would promote “good practice” in applying Islamic principles in the British legal system.
